Holiday Inn Winter Haven, an IHG Hotel

The staff at the desk were phenomenal. They were quick and friendly getting us checked in, and happy to answer any questions we had during our stay. The cleaning staff were just as helpful and a pleasure to work with, providing extra towels as needed, and cleaning the room up while we were gone. We had a wonderful stay here, and will recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Winter Haven. The room was very clean and the beds were perfectly comfortable. We used the laundry room, which was extremely convenient, and the pool was lots of fun for the kids. The hotel provided us with coupons for the kids to eat free for each meal during our stay, along with the purchase of an adult meal, but we didn't use them.

The elevator was slow, but that is about it. We can't think of any complaints. It was a great stay all around for everyone. We did not use the cafe any since we brought our own food to get us by and save some money.

The room was very modern looking and clean. USB-A ports all over the room. Plenty of outlets all over the room. A ton of things around the hotel, including a Wal-mart across the street and an Outback in the same parking lot. A Keurig coffee machine in the room with a few options to make.

Some of the USBs were broken. No microwave in the room. I needed to heat up a baby bottle and I had to go downstairs to the bar to use a microwave.

We liked the convenient breakfast. We stayed there two times and the first time breakfast was included and my children ate free even though one child was 12 a few days later we returned to the same hotel and this time our son was charged because he was considered the required age and now had to pay for breakfast which was confusing. I liked the laundry facilities and pool area they were clean. The staff was very friendly and wonderful!

The staff were all very nice. The bar offered happy hour, and the bartender was friendly and helpful. The lobby and room were very clean and comfortable. We went during Christmas-time, and the lobby was decorated very nicely. My son loved the Grinch fireplace.

The hotel itself was very awkwardly positioned behind some restaurants and sandwiched between 2 other hotels. The first night we were there, a couple of basketball teams were also staying, and it was clear the next morning that the kitchen was either not informed or not prepared. We had to wait on every food item to be refilled. Also, some of the guests were extremely loud, both late into the night and very early in the morning.

The Breakfast was 10 dollars and consisted of what you normally get for free at most hotels. They do give you free coffee. Two elevators and one was broken during our entire stay..so the wait was a little longer, no biggie. No daily room service due to Covid but that's okay...we sat our used towels outside our door and got fresh towels each day. We called the front desk and asked but they did not however replenish bathroom items or coffee station items, we went to the market to get our own soap, shampoo, coffee, creamer, sugar, spoons and cups again...no biggie we prefer our brand of stuff anyway. The room was clean and large for a hotel room and had nice big windows. The air conditioner was great, Most hotels won't let you set the air below 70 but this one did. The bed mattress wasn't great but okay for a 3 night stay. Parking was convenient and free. We didn't use the pool but heard people shivering in the lobby complain that the heater wasn't working very well.. But then again it was 50 degrees outside so what do they expect?? Staff was nice and helpful. Lobby was clean with nice furnishings. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to others.

The size of the room for a hanicap person.

I had to change my handicap room (419) in the middle of the night (10:00 pm) due to the toilet was broken. Manager came up to the room to assess the problem. I had to move to another room. Also, had a flight at 8:00 am the next morning.

Breakfast was amazing. Polite servers and attentive. Food choices changed each day we were here. A very large room and breakfast was included. Housekeeping did a great job. .

Bigger sign to find it. Lol. Hard to see low sign on side of driveway. Look for the Outback .

Everything was great especially the location which was perfect since the gym where my daughter had a basketball tournament to play at (Advent Health Field House )was directly across the street from the hotel. Then the lobby was a nice place to relax and enjoy talking with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. The hot breakfast being served had a reasonable price rate for the guests. Also had plenty restaurants & shopping spots within walking distance . It’s Great place to stay I definitely will stay there again if ever in the area !!

The pool didn’t have water in it but I sure it was due to the whole Covid thing. The weather was perfect for nice day at the pool.

Great location, very clean and it had the amenities I was looking for!

The only thing I didn’t like was the brightness of the a/c unit! That bright blue was worse than any nightlight by the 3rd night I covered it with a towel.

The only complaint I have is that I paid for a room a couple a weeks Ago and never stayed and my card was still charged It would love if I could actually receive the room I paid for.
