Stratford Motor Inn East Ellijay

Very close to where I was working and lots of food possibilities nearby. I booked a king smoking room but was put in a standard 2 bed room which I didn’t argue about because it was on the bottom floor (no stairs!). Just needed a place to stay for the night so if I’m in the area again I’ll definitely check the availability of this hotel.

The refrigerator didn’t have a freezer(I use reusable ice packs for my cooler so I don’t have to buy ice for my water and soft drinks).and the bathroom was clean but small.The price was little steep for no continental breakfast and the pool was closed because it was January/ February so I didn’t expect it to be open!

The location was good. It had a pool. The rooms were well insulated and quiet. Didn't hear any noise outside or next door all night like most hotels. The gentleman that checked me in was very polite. Had a small koi fish pond by the office that my kids enjoyed looking at. Not a 5 star hotel , but I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

The lady at the front desk the next morning was not friendly at all. When I walked in she acted like I was an inconvenience. I asked if she could unlock to pool and she said the pool doesn't open till 9 even though the sign at the pool says 8am. She did unlock it however. A couple hours later when we were checking out, the front door to the office was now locked and we did ring the bell a couple times, but no one ever answered. The beds were ok, but I would definitely bring your own pillow. Bathtub didn't have a drain plug, so we had to use a rag.

The property was convenient to Blue Ridge off main drag and easy in and off main road. Many food locations and stores nearby.

The beds were okay for a night stay but not long term stays. The staff in the morning was hard to get ahold of. When we left at 7 am the door to lobby was locked with sign saying call this number but was so old you could bo longer read it. So called the number from booking and took like 10 mins before a man finally opened the door obviously was asleep. That was the only issue was trying to checkout and comfort of the beds. There was crack in our bathtub but did not use it. Just old and bit outdated but like I said good for one night or two might stay.

I didn't know there was a breakfast. I loved the koi pond at the entrance of the motor inn.

I had a problem with my knee and requested a bottom floor room, but we were given a room on the second floor wherein we had to climb stairs numerous times. It didn't appear that the street floor rooms were occupied.

I think the negative reviews of this hotel are dated, unreflective of recent improvements. My room and that of my friends was spotless. Staff was friendly, I would definitely stay here again.

Room was clean and updated . I was pleasantly surprised with my stay. It’s nothing fancy but was clean and near where I wanted to be. I would stay again.

The Lobby could have been a little more inviting.

They were no breakfast, but plenty of restaurants around.. The guy checking us in was awesome and very friendly... very clean...

The bed was a little hard, but there's not anything I could complain about..

Friendly staff, quick check in process, and good sized rooms great value

The beds were a little uncomfortable and the smoke alarm went off after a hot shower because the detector is literally right in front of the bathroom door on the ceiling. The exhaust fan didn’t work so all thhe steam hit the detector as soon as we opened the door. Minor inconvenience but could have been avoided with better placement .

Comfortable bed only spent short hours of sleep here.

Had to repeatedly ring the bell to get a response from the night manager. Manager was not too excited to see us because we got stuck in FOG TRAFFIC and arrived after Midnight. Not our fault but he was grumpy about it

The room was comfortable and basically clean.

The man working the desk when we checked in was grumpy and seemed inconvenienced, but the lady in the morning was pleasant. The booking said continental breakfast, so we were expecting the “Covid” bag that most are offering, but they offered nothing. We were told to use the coffee in our rooms, but there was only one condiment pack and two of us. Hopefully, that was just an oversight.
