My Place Hotel-Ankeny/Des Moines IA

Room was clean and comfortable. Full size refrigerator and kitchenette was in good shape. I didn't realize it was more of an extended stay place when I made the reservation so we didn't use any of the kitchen. It was conveniently located within a very short drive to a ton of restaurants and stores.

The room and a weird smell but I think it's just from the fact that there is a stove in the room and people cooking frequently in the room. The water and ice had a weird taste but we just got some water bottles at the front desk store for a couple bucks. No breakfast but plenty of choices to choose from at the small store.

This is the only motel I have stayed at that did not offer a free breakfast.

If I wanted Breakfast I would have to pay extra for it.

We were in town for the Cyclone County Kennel Club dog show at the State Fairgrounds. This hotel was about 8 miles from the show site, which was perfect driving distance. We are used to staying in dog friendly hotels... however, this hotel was unlike any other hotel that allows pets... it was beautiful! After we checked in and went to the room, we were like “wow”! The rooms were spacious, the linens fresh and clean... the carpets - I actually felt like I could walk barefoot on them! The staff were friendly and accommodating.... and most importantly, they had great fresh brewed coffee each morning! We bought breakfast from the “pantry” and cooked it in the room when it was snowing and didn’t feel like going outside for breakfast. Oh, did I mention, we loved the full size fridge, freezer and microwave in the room. We will definitely stay there again at the next dog show!

Absolutely nothing... it’s a great hotel!

The rooms were clean and orderly. Liked the full size refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom sink drain was very slow to drain. The shower drain was slow the last day there, so that needs addressed. At 9 am, the coffee I got in the lobby was lukewarm at best.

The establishment was easy to locate and the front desk gentleman was excellent. He was checking in another party when we arrived but began our check in as well. He was very professional and speedy without making either of us hurried. When we got up to our room, the refrigerator was not on. I called the front desk and he immediately came up to address the problem. I will definitely stay there again next time I travel to the Des Moines area.

We arrived very late (after midnight). As a result, booking was complex. We are so thankful for the night manager who said her name was Queen. She couldn't have been more helpful. I have traveled extensively during the past 48 years. I don't believe I have ever been treated better by the manager or desk personnel at a hotel. Queen was truly exceptional.

I can't think of a single thing. In every way, this hotel took care of all my needs. Breakfast is not included at this property, but I was grateful that they did provide complementary coffee in the morning.

Loved the bed, the heat/air, the kitchen and bath.

I did not like that we had to buy our own dishes, silverware, salt/pepper, and utensils. Seems the could provide 2 dishes, 2 cups and some utensils even if they were only plastic or paper.

I had to checkin due a surgery scheduled on Thursday morning ,so I definitely recommend this place . The P.M staff did check on me before and after my surgery absolutely the best customer service experience anyone could ask for . Most of the places I have visited since Covid 19 has started you can barely get a person to say hello or Thank You. Just a over all Super Fantastic Visit..

Everything was very clean and organized. Coffee was available in the lobby 24/7. We did not have to make it in our room. Parking was very close to our room. The room was very quiet.

No complaints!

The location is perfectly located between family members and easily accessible from interstate. Stay was during time of massive travel delays and cancellations and hotel staff very supportive of changes in my schedule.

Everything was as I needed.
