New Victorian Inn - Sioux City

The staff was friendly and the place was so clean. Bed very comfortable and rooms are spacious.

I was not impressed with the breakfast. I got down there by 7:00 am and there was a few bags of bacon/sausage and makings for waffles. No eggs and the set up is not all that pleasant actually. You have cooked materials in a baggie to warm up, a waffle maker, microwave and toaster all spread out in different areas. This was not organized very well and sorry but the quality of food was not the best either. But the place is nice and clean, just need to revamp the breakfast.

This property is very neat and well maintained and conveniently located near both downtown Sioux City and Sioux City airport. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the beds comfortable. The breakfast offerings are better than many other budget hotels we have stayed at. In addition to the usual selection of cold cereals, breads, make your own waffles, and assorted oatmeal packs, it also offered individual bacon and sausage patties, hard boiled eggs, and fruit. The property also has password protected WiFi.

Bring earplugs as the property is about half a block away from an active railroad line and the room A/c unit was a bit on the louder side.

This well kept budget property is clean and pleasant. The king size bed and pillows were very comfortable. The A/C unit was quieter than most we have encountered. The room furniture was comfortable and in good repair; the refrigerator and microwave worked well. The room had laminated flooring instead of carpet and this contributed to the overall neat feeling of our room. The breakfast bar included bacon, sausage and hard boiled eggs in addition to the standard assortment of quick oatmeal packets and several sugared cold cereals and breads for toasting.

Would love to see a few unsweetened yogurts available in addition to the sweetened ones.

Breakfast was standard motel breakfast -- OK. Room was very large. One comfortable chair. Bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. Bathroom arrangement was a little odd, with sink outside the toilet and tub room, which was O.K. but it was in another corner of the room instead of just outside. We were able to walk to a good restaurant a couple of blocks away and an ice cream shop across the street, although it wasn't a particularly walkable area. I appreciated the electrical outlets near the bed.

The lighting was not good for reading. But I guess nobody reads in hotels these days. There was one comfy chair with no lamp nearby, but there was another floor lamp in a corner by itself. We could have moved it, of course. The location was near a freeway intersection, so kind of nondescript strip mall territory. Not specific to this hotel, but why is there always only one luggage stand in a room designed for two or more people? And why are good reading lights so hard to come by?

Breakfast was OK. Location was Ok. What we really like are the "small" things. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I've been in, and that's important. There are plenty of towels and towel racks. The water pressure in the shower is strong. Staff is friendly and accommodating to our needs. We can get a blanket since we find duvets are too hot. Those "little" things keep us coming back.

The hotel seems a bit worn - the furniture shows signs of wear, could have a better lobby for sitting in when my spouse can't sleep. But the good things outweigh the uncomfortable things.

Cost for value is reasonably good. Appliances, molding, trim, tiling, and wall paint are all fresh and new. Plenty of work has been plainly put into the property in the last couple years, and it reflects in the state of it.

The bed was too soft, the pillows were too small and lumpy. The pool was closed for repairs. Repairs and remodeling were inconsistent - coffee makers were two generations out of date, light fixtures and switches were ancient, etc. Location is in a rather dingy, industrial area.

This place is a hidden gem. My wife and I were traveling from Washington State to Clarksville TN we have been staying in hotels that we weren't sure about for days when we stumbled upon New Victoria Inn The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure and hot water was actually hot. Believe it or not, you could smell the sheets cleanliness.

Really disappointed by the breakfast. Just like everywhere else these days only this one you have to microwave everything yourself.

I love the strict no smoking policy and that's its enforced with an appropriate cleaning fee to strongly discourage smoking. Looked and smelled very clean in room and hallway. There was a maintenence man who seemed to be inspecting each room after people stayed, working with the cleaning staff- excellent idea..Very clean and comfortable beds and linen/blankets. Everyone friendly

Good for the money. Very clean and nice room. Basic breakfast was satisfying. Close to restaurants and highway. Staff was friendly. Small in-room fridge and microwave in tv cabinet.

Hotel room door had a small gap, so light and sound could enter slightly. No safe.

Pet fee was $25/night. They have a convenient pet area. The room was large and generously proportioned. Our family fit very comfortably, which made for an easy time in a hotel room. The breakfast was more an I expected. I enjoyed the nice double height ceiling that gave nice feeling to the entryway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved that we could buy a single package of microwave popcorn at the front desk. Easy access to interstate, several restaurants and Walmart for the forgotten items.

Bathroom felt a little tight, especially compared to the spacious room. The swimming pool was colder than was comfortable and my children didn’t find it enjoyable, so they didn’t wear themselves out before bed. The parking lot felt a bit small.
