Stoney Creek Hotel Sioux City

The breakfast was good. The bar was very nice. Loved the enclosed outdoor seating area with the fish pond-it was a kick to feed the fish. Great fro T desk staff for check in and check out. Parking was great. Location was very handy for walking to nearby restaurants and the theater where we went to a show.

The sheets were on upside down and the mattress pad and bottom sheet kept pulling up off of the mattress in the middle of the night and bunched up. The bar open a half hour past the posted open hours, I realize this could be due to staffing issues or unknown circumstances.

it was delicious and many options were given and the eating area was very clean and plenty of room. My grandchildren enjoyed the pancake machine.

the pool area was not being montitered and when I took my young granchildren in there, ages from 3-8 years old, there was much older chidlren jumpin on top of the younger ones. The teenagers were jumpin off the rocks on top of the fountain that lead outside into the other part of the pool. I had to tell them to stop cause that wasnt appropirate and it wasnt there for them to be doing belly flops and pushing the younger children back. One of the teenagers did get mouthy and told me I had no right to tell them what to do so i told him i was going to report them to the hotel desk manager, they then left the pool area and began running and chasing each other through the halls. Other than this incindent the stay was quite nice.

Outstanding! From check in to check out very satisfied! Clean, extremely helpful and friendly staff!? Great breakfast and the absolute perfect location for attending a concert at the Tyson center. Out the north facing door from the hotel to the east facing arena entrance is less than a 100 yards I’m guessing! Maybe a two minute walk!

The only thing I would mention is the $25.00 charge for incidentals. When you check out aren’t the incidentals brought to the forefront and acknowledged? If you don’t have any then why the time lapse in the refund? Where does it list this in the booking agreement?

Beautiful outdoor sitting space with a lovely garden/fish pond; provides nice area for children to play and families to gather. Unexpected given its downtown location. Pleasant and large breakfast area. Nice size pool with indoor/outdoor areas. Large indoor sitting area next to lobby.

Room sink located outside bathroom. Very noisy bathroom fan and no outlet in bathroom to plug in night light. Few non starchy options at breakfast.

I loved the outdoorsy decorating theme! I felt like I was taking a relaxing visit to the cabin and lake. Right down to the details of toilet paper dispense and towel bars/hangers that look like tree branches! The room was clean and well maintained, the bed was comfy and I liked that when the blinds closed-it actually was dark in the room instead of blades of light shining through! There were at least 3 restaurants within walking distance that I could see outside my window.

After all the wonderful details and comfort, I was disappointed at the lack of thought put into the breakfast! It was ho-hum industrial eggs, etc that I would expect at a low cost hotel. I ate around 8:30am and the eggs were barely warm, the fruit looked like leftover—(the bananas were green). I know breakfast is not an exciting meal—but I just expected a bit more freshness, imagination. Since this hotel is downtown — there was a bit of outdoors noise….but not disruptive.

Loved everything! Location to venue, breakfast was best we have had, and everyone there wether guest or staff were so very helpful to us.

We arrived 3 hours early not realizing the trip was shorter than we planned. We let the front desk know if our early arrival. We had to wait around the lobby and out in our vehicle until our room was finally cleaned at 3pm.

The environment was really great. The "lodge" look was really nice and made you feel like you were in a resort. The breakfast was amazing! Staff was really great. The bar was nice and LOVED the bartender! She was so friendly! The pool was nice but being a holiday weekend it was crowded most of the time. I loved the courtyard and location . Right across the street from the casino.

We didn't get our room cleaned the entire time we stayed. I assume that is something you had to ask for. They did give us clean towels anytime we asked.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Hot and delicious. There were plenty of options. My sister and I both commented how exceptional the coffee was. A really great cup of coffee. All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room only came with two bath towels, but I was able to quickly get additional.

As far as cleanliness, I took that down one notch for the following reasons. The stairways between floors needed to be vacuumed. We were on the 2nd floor so we took the stairs vs. the elevators and the the same crumbs were there all weekend. The bathroom by the pool did not appear very clean. The floor was wet (to be expected) but then there was toilet paper on the wet floor, so it just gives the impression that it is dirty.

The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet.. We enjoyed the courtyard, it was landscaped beautifully.. The breakfast was one of the better breakfasts we have had at a hotel.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like. We were traveling and it was a short stay. I don't know what the pool was like or the fitness room was like.

The breakfasts were amazing. Loved the centralized location.

Nothing it was all good. Should have more control over things like the swimming pool, there were some unruly teens there that were rude to staff. Give staff more control to evict from swimming pool to have other guests have better time.
