Parkwood Inn & Suites

We stopped in Manhattan willy-nilly, and this hotel was welcoming and comfortable - no complaints. It was a quick overnight stay. The decorating in the room was nice (esp. the bedspreads). It was clean and quiet and comfortable. We did not use the shower, so don't know about it, but the beds were comfortable and sleep was great.

We needed a place to stay spur of the moment, but thought going to Manhattan sounded like a good idea, not realizing it was 9 miles off the highway. So we didn't really love the extra driving (on a 1,000 mile drive with an infant). Otherwise, there wasn't anything that stood out as a negative.

The hotel had a great location and was nicely set apart across the street from a quiet city park. We were pleased by the cleanliness of the room and the selection of breakfast options available to us. Check-in and check-out were quick with friendly staff members handling everything easily.

There were some maintenance issues, especially with the exhaust fan in the bathroom and with one of the beds feeling "out of level". We didn't realize until we had already arrived that housekeeping was only cleaning rooms three days a week for longer stays; this was a problem as we needed more frequent servicing.

The breakfast was fine but would have liked more options for fruit, would have liked meat options like bacon. Over all though it was ok. Location is good. It is located in a neighborhood I used to live. Close to the campus and in the middle of town so easy access to any part of town on the south side.

The memory foam mattress and flat pillows were not for me. When they put in the new mattresses I thought I liked them but the more I stay I think I would prefer inner spring (plush firm). I am a side sleeper with aching joints and they don't seem to work for me as much as I would like.

Walk in shower with shower chair. Refrigerator was used for medication storage. Close enough to places we needed to be. Price range

Shower curtain didn't reach the floor level so water splattered out into the bathroom floor. The hand held shower head was cracked so that the water flow valve was useless. The safety bar in the shower was not secure and the bar by the toilet was also unstable.

Quiet, well appointed, clean rooms and property, overall. Breakfast was hot and was better than the typical set up most hotels have opted for, post-Covid. Ample parking and nice neighborhood, set off from main street. City Park across the street. Room has microwave and refrigerator. An exceptional value for the quality.

Room had a maintenance issue that the cleaning staff should have flagged; it was an easy fix. There were no instructions on how to operate the TV remote.

apparently we were to be in a different room because this room had several bowls of ground coffee throughout the room ostensibly because the previous occupants had smoked in the room. Though our being there was a mistake it was not onerous and the room didn’t smell like smoke but the cleaning crew didn’t come in after the first night thinking possibly that the room was not occupied because it wasn’t supposed to be occupied though we didn’t know that at the time. We found out later when we got a call by management after we had checked out. They were gracious and the only inconvenience was that we needed a fresh towel supply for the second night which was readily supplied.

We only grabbed some mini muffins. Location of motel was good. Close to what we needed. Having a Keurig coffee pot was nice, even though we didn't use it this time.

The bed could have been more comfortable. The mattress wasn't very firm. If you tried to turn over, the mattress made a lot of noise, like it wasn't supported well. Would have been nice to have two end tables and another chair. I am short and sitting on a bed is not always comfortable.

Very clean, friendly staff, ammenities as expected. Location close to K-Sate which suited our needs. Appreciate being offered breakfast and breakfast options. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Very impressed how clean everything was and no weird smells. Excellent job to the cleaning crew.

The fridge in the room was very loud, it would cycle through really loud noises. One of the outlets in the room did not work, so the light by the bed seemed to not work but worked in a different outlet, not a huge deal. Also, the tv remote did not work, probably needed batteries, ended up just going to bed as had an early morning, not a big deal either.

The receptionists were friendly and informative. Very personable. The housekeeping services were excellent. the breakfasts offered a variety of options. The coffee selections were delicious. The location was perfect as it is at a major intersection, next to two restaurants and across the street from a lovely park.
