Buttonwood Boutique Hotel

Exceptional decor, very clean, nice location off the beach but close enough to everything. Very nice entrance, living room and sun room. Dedicated parking space for our room. Casually elegant and quiet.

No one cleaned our room or offered fresh towels over our three night stay, so it's a bit overbilled as a "Botique Hotel." Our room (#2 on the first floor) was very small and had no chair. Bed had "wings" on the headboard which look nice, but not very practical in such a small space - we kept banging into them. If we had it to do over again would only go if one of the larger rooms were available.

Lovely restored historic home. Small scale, only 7 or 8 rooms. Ideal location, convenient walking distance to downtown shopping, dining and the beach.

Staff were nowhere in sight during our stay, reflected by scant supplies in refreshment center (water, ice, juice, etc.) Admittedly, this is a boutique hotel with mostly self service. Just be aware of/ prepared for this limitation. While obviously aspiring towards the trendy (younger/affluent) travellers, please pay attention to the likes/wishes of older/staid guests....a small example: the expansive (&expensive?)array of herbal teas offered were great, but left plain old black or breakfast tea drinkers like me out in the cold. Get a box of Lipton...its passe, but some of your guests still drink it!

Great location! Close to great options in West Cape May but still within walking distance of downtown and beaches. The property itself was lovely and very quiet. We only stayed for one night but I would stay again and recommend.

The parking lot was a little tight when full—our spot was obstructed by another guest vehicle. But the hosts were super responsive about an additional available spot so it wasn’t a real issue for one night. Might have been more of a problem over a longer stay if coming and going, but still better than street parking!

Location was ideal, right across the street for breakfast/lunch, and a short walk to the boardwalk & beach. The property is absolutely gorgeous, and we loved having codes for the doors rather than keys. We also appreciated having our own dedicated parking space.

A few suggestions for improvement. Suite 3 has very low shower pressure. We own the same Nespresso coffee maker, but having instructions for the guests in plain view would be helpful, as I gave several tutorials how to use it. Bottled water in the room would have been a plus. The family room needs more outlets available for guests to charge phones/laptops.

Buttonwood is not actually a hotel. It’s more like a shared Airbnb. It’s a very pretty house that is beautifully decorated. There is no staff on site. In the lounge you can make your own very good coffee, tea and freshly squeezed orange juice. The first morning we found some yoghurt and granola. The second morning there was no breakfast. We had room 1 and 7. Room 7 is on the top floor, is really large with a good size bathroom. Our adult daughters had room 1. The room was nice, a lot smaller but the bathroom was extremely small. We did like the beach chairs and towels.

Really clean and updated. Lovely accommodations - grounds were well manicured and inviting.

For the cost (which is not cheap) breakfast should be included - or at least a voucher to get breakfast somewhere. Minor detail, but room #1 feels less private - door opens right to the lobby and there is no noise barrier- if TV in room is on, it feels like everyone downstairs can hear it, and vice versa.

we LOVED that we felt so at home. its is a warm welcoming place to stay and the location is amazing! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable! We felt like we were away alone.. no key entry is amazing too

if i had to have ONE complaint tit would be that we could not open the windows. However, we understand why some locations do this. The weather was so perfect so we would have loved to been able to get some fresh air in the room.

Beautiful decor and location. Loved the secret staircase in the room. As the room had "gifts" we didn't know if the champagne was included. No one to ask.

No staff. Took an hr to get ahold of anyone to check in. Room 3 had so many lights on outside that it felt like I was sleeping with a lamp on. Curtains did not cover entire window. Need to take " breakfast " off the sign outside, confusing. Need more information posted about amenities on how to use.

The Buttonwood hotel was beautiful and very tastefully done. The room is beautiful as are the common spaces. The room also includes many thoughtful touches including a welcome drink and extra towels. The common spaces allow one to make fresh orange juice, coffee, and water.

The room did not have many outlets which made it difficult to work. The AC makes a lot of sound which woke us up many times. The main street is also noisy so I'd recommend carrying earbuds to kill the noise.

We were in Suite 7 and it was gorgeous! Spacious room. The outside had nice seating to relax in. The ambience had comforting lounge music and a cute sunroom. We had assigned parking and everything was accessible.

The numerical keypads were hard to handle for me. The numbers would disappear on me. My boyfriend did it just fine so maybe I just didn't know how to work it.
