The Classic Desert Aire Hotel

I liked the Native American paintings on the walls, the reception that had a nice gift shop, the staff that was friendly and even got us plastic spoons and utensils when I asked for them. There is also a nice pool I saw people use it, but it looked like a well kept pool. I also liked the location, perfect for after the White Sands sunset. The AC was working well all night, and the breakfast was great.

The room had a slight smell when we entered, the window in the bathroom was very hard to open. Other than that it was a nice and comfy place, sheets were clean and we slept well.

REAL breakfast is awesome, order from menu and not a buffet. Amazing taste and quality as well as drinks included. You can upgrade to other options on the menu for only a few bucks, but the free/included options are great. the location is best option in Alamagordo that you can get to the white sand dunes. Very close to big restaurants like applebees and starbucks, etc as well as fastfood, walmart, and more. We got a king suite with a full kitchen which we loved, we could cook (actual stove) and use full size fridge, included were dishes and pots/pans. Small dining area and great size living room. The hotel lobby is a gift shop with locally made art, purses, jewelry and more which are amazing and well priced. We purchased many items for gifts. The staff was incredible, so family oriented and friendly. We felt very safe, comfortable, and loved that we could pull the car right up to our door. I will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful staff, everyone was extremely nice. Good quality breakfast, we loved the burrito. Nice gift shop. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent position to visit White Sands. A classic motel but with a cozy touch.

My husband and I stayed in a king room and it was perfect. However, our friends stayed in a double queen room which had not been warmed up prior to our arrival. We arrived late in the evening and our friends turned on the AC but then turned it off to sleep. They were cold all night and this the only reason why I didn’t give a 10/10 review

Our stay at desert aire hotel was marvelous! We expected the artful decoration because we saw the pictures when booking the room, but it still exceeded our expectations. The staff was super kind, and inviting. They treated us like old friends while still being %100 professional. This might be the best stay we have had in a long time during our trips. We tend to stay in diverse places, from higher end hotels, Airbnb, to cheaper options. This hotel beat them all!

The staff is very attentive and friendly- and the breakfast was great too! A great location for jumping off to visit White Sands.

Not much to dislike. This is an older motel, which means it’s quirky and not a fancy place with the “latest” trendy furniture and wall pictures and paint colors. Just a solid, safe, clean place to stay.

The overall experience was good. The hotel room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was very good and staff was super friendly. Since we were going to White Sands, we were given sleds to use free of charge, which made our day.

The pool was closed for repairs. This was an unexpected bummer since we booked the room before it was announced.

The room did not have a safe as mentioned in the property details, it was also extremely dim in the room. The only time there was enough light in the room was when all 3 lamps were on simultaneously

Very nice and helpful front desk staff at check in and check out. The room was very clean and comfortable. We loved the location to restaurants and to White Sands National Park. Loved the little shop near the check in area as well, filled with lots of cute local things! I also loved that they are very pet friendly. We didn't bring our pets as we came from Maryland on a plane and our kitties would have not been happy with us. But it was awesome to know that they were so accepting of all pets and very happy to have them!

Not a thing, it was a great stay!

Location is great - close to White Sands. The hotel is pretty large with a lot of rooms and ample parking. The room were basic, but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was perfect for a one-night stay with most of my time spent exploring the White Sands park.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed during my stay.

This was our second stay here this year, and was just as good as the first. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and we were thankful for a good mattress during each stay. We love that we could get a hot breakfast - and with good choices!! Also, the staff was friendly. We appreciated the quality of our stay. Thank you to the staff and chef.

2 things that weren't a make or break deal, but would be good improvements... With COVID issues, hotels are avoiding housekeeping service during the first 3 days of a stay. We thought we'd automatically get at least minor housekeeping service after the 3rd day (empty the trash, change out the towels perhaps? leave some toilet paper?), but we didn't, and had to go to the office if we needed anything. It's not a huge walk to the office, but a little service in this area would have made the stay nicer (or even a knock on the door asking if we needed anything? Just a suggestion. :) ). Also, many hotels (outside of New Mexico) have had their breakfast eating areas opened up. That would have been a nice thing, but we know NM is still locked up.
