Super 8 by Wyndham Childress

We stayed twice, the first time was not very good as the AC did not work well in the Texas heat but the second time was much better because we could upgrade to a larger room with a working AC; the rooms were clean and pet friendly; the town is small but has a lot to offer in dining choices and the breakfast choices were very nice. We are planning a few more trips and plan to stay there again as our experience was very positive the second time around.

The first room we had was in the corner, directly in the sun all day plus the AC did not seem to be working all that well so it was very hot and muggy in the room. We endured because we were tired and just wanted to rest.

It was a nice place. The staff was super helpful. My kid enjoyed the pool. It was off the main road, so it was convenient for finding places to eat, I would recommend the Wheat Artesian Bakery they were super delicious.

Because of the main road it was a little noisy, but it wasn't bad. There was alot of crew workers staying there so it was a bit crowded and a lot of guys just hanging out in the parking lot.

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The AC was in before we arrived and in a hot day, it sure felt good to walk into a cool room.

The handle in the tub was broken and it was extremely hard to turn the water on and adjust the temperature. We had a toddler and could only fill the tub by running the shower. We were too tired to try to change rooms so just sealed with it. I did tell the staff the next morning and they apologized and said they would report it.

I like the fact that it was closed to the location we need to go. Also, like the breakfasts, it was decent compared to other places.

I didn't like the swimming pool was yo small, the microwave didn't work, and beds weren't queens beds there were full size and one my kids have to sleep on the floor.

Breakfast was fine. Glad y'all are pet friendly... you charge too much for a small dog though! Bed was comfy, pillows ... more than one option! AND you had a bathtub for me! Everything ready for check-in... Easy peasy.

Carry my luggage in for me?! Otherwise, Nothing more.

Very happy with our stay. Clean room, cold AC, very comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the indoor pool and hot tub...excatly what we needed after a long drive. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, courteous and kind. They went out of their way to assist us with anything. Lisa, the hotel manager, made sure we were comfortable. Plus, we were there because our vehicle had mechanical issues, and she offered to get us food or anything else we couldn't walk to. Her husband, Ci Ci, even drove us to pick up our car rental. It was over an hour away. Our room was spotless and quiet.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Friendly staff. Walked into the room, and it was so fresh,clean, and plenty of quality towels. Slept so comfortable that I didn't even notice it rained all night until I opened the door!

Friendly staff, comfortable beds great location for my needs

ice machine out of service (but ice from bags provided at front desk), and for six night stay had to request more clean towels, toilet paper, Kleenex and to clean room.

The location was perfect since we were only 5 minutes from our son's home. Everyone was friendly and kind.

Our room was located near a stairwell, which was a bit noisy when people came and went. But it wasn't too much of a problem.
