I love the cozy, comfortable feel of everything! It was very neat and clean and gorgeous!
Everything was perfect until the lobby person put a family full of very loud children, bumping walls and screaming! And parents or adults were up and down and in and out ALL NIGHT LONG! SO MY PERFECT QUITE NIGHT I HAD TOLD THE RECEPTIONIST I WAS LOOKING FOR NO LONGER EXIST. IT WAS NOT A GOOD NIGHT! And because of ice on the electricity wires the electricity in my room kept flickering and messing up my alarm! I missed my appointment because of all of this.Thats $50 cancellation fee

Absolutely wonderful experience! History & charm oozed from every crevice. The quaint room was immaculately clean and the bathroom was stocked with 5 star toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. We had a very late night event and was allowed a free late checkout. Talk about “Texas hospitality” - they got that covered too in the reception area. Great staff!! Gina was a dream to speak with offering historic knowledge of the property and surrounding area! Free snacks and a comforting warm drink were also on offer in reception. We loved it and will certainly be back!! 2 Thumbs UP!

I enjoyed the fact that this establishment is a historical landmark as the oldest motel in Texas and family owned. On the 1st night, our room was not very comfortable because it was not cool. It is likely due to the extreme heat during this time. The owner was kind enough to give us another room. But when we returned to our original room, it had cooled down. There are other places to stay in Rockdale, but Rainbow Courts is the place for me when visiting my family.

The facility provides no formal breakfast services but provides Keurig variety coffer pods all day and muffin in the morning! That was all we needed in the morning routine anyway! The staff who booked us in was excellent, cheerful, courteous, and eager to help! Everything in the room was very clean and nothing to be requested for from the office. The only thing we would like to see the room be a bit larger, we both felt a bit clamp in there!

This is place is beautiful. The place we stayed in was an old school house at one point in time. The beds were comfy, and the water was nice and hot. The staff was friendly, and kind. Ten ten will stay again!
The room was a little hot, but it being in Texas in summer it’s to be expected in the old houses.

We felt safe, comfortable, welcomed as always at the Rainbow. The decor is exceptional and personal, not the usual. The coffee service is exceptional and it feels like home really.
The highway out front that they have been working on for years now, making it not good for walking on to off campus for exercise. This is not their fault but the city.

Room was a little small. I think all hotel rooms should have a usable mirror over the desk. Not enough shelving space to put toiletries in the bathroom. Close to train tracks, so heard a few trains during the night.

Oldest motel in the State of Texas lives up to its history by providing a comfortable place to stay. Rockdale might not be a hub of tourist activity, but this little gem is a great place to stay and get a feel for the days when motor courts were found along the nations highways. Quaint and tastefully decorated room is just what a person is needing for a pleasant nights stay - this is the original "microtel" - small size has everything one needs.
Only thing that could be put in this category was the low water pressure - probably a municipal issue as opposed to the establishment.

My family and I absolutely loved this place, it is very peaceful and beautiful! We will be staying at this place when ever we travel to that area. I recommend this place 100% , my kids are excited to go back soon.Thank you for making my family happy! Already planning our next trip here and the stay will be a little longer for sure ☺

It was overall excellent! I’ve got nothing negative.... Highly recommend for a unique, comfortable, well maintained and relaxing get away. We stayed in the queen suites and the fully equipped kitchen was very handy. There are several very nice areas for dining outdoors. We prepared meals in the small kitchen and enjoyed them at one of the tables in the gardens. Very nice. Even the carry-out tasted better in the open air.
I was not ready leave when our stay was over....
