La Cantera Resort & Spa

I loved that each morning in the main building of the Villa there were breakfast pastries and that there was also the convenience of grabbing a beverage or item from the bar area and having it just added to our room. Our first night we ate at Sweetfire Kitchen and while the main courses were delicious I especially enjoyed their cornbread appetizer, it was very very good. The spa was absolutely phenomenal from the staff to the Quenche bar down below and the food and beverage options it offered. Staff were consistently around the infinity pool area checking on guests and making sure needs for beverages or food were met as well as taking away food/beverage trash. The shops on property were various as well as many food options within it. Definitely want to pack sunscreen and water with you and wear comfortable shoes for walking around. If interested in the restaurents there, booking a reservation before heading over is probably a solid move. We ate at Whiskey Cake and the food and atmosphere was very good. Restaurant was a little warm but that might've been due to the high amount of people in there at the time we ate.

The details about the shuttle were a bit confusing and while we knew that the Resort entrance was where to go for one there wasn't a set wait station area specifically for the Shuttle. Same went for the shops area, a general area where they would pick us up but nowhere specifically designated as Shuttle boarders waiting.

We originally booked 2 nights, we extended our stay for another 2 nights. We played golf 3 evenings, great golf course! All staff were so polite and friendly. The pool areas were good, you have enough space to not be all sat on top of each other! We ate at two different restaurants in the hotel and they were both amazing!! Again staff were amazing! The staff that checked us in were outstanding!! The resort it’s self is very big, we got lost a few times! But everyone we asked for directions they were all more than willing to help :) Our room was big, our balcony was lovely. We had a view of the courtyard part which was nice :)

The only thing I can complain about is when we were out playing golf I needed to use a restroom. We played twilight so near hole 14/15 they had restrooms, I couldn’t actually use them as it was pitch black and had no lights. Think this needs to be looked into, just a little light needs to be put in there!!

small boutique feel in the villas. overall lovely grounds , excellent location, having a golf cart to get around property and go the main hotel a PLUS! lots for kids and family. numerous choices for food and recreation. even a nature visit with a python and a falcon. very interactive on a small scale. perfect weekend get away !

was a little pricey and is located next to 6 Flags and Fiesta Texas ( a plus if you are going there but beware of TRAFFIC. !

From the moment of arrival, staff were amazing! Manny the bellman was so helpful. He gave me a tour and pertinent information escorting me to my room. When I left the property and they were loading my bags, he even noticed on the day of arrival I had a golf travel bag and that it was missing from what was being put in my car. Because of his astuteness, he saved me from leaving my $300 travel case which I would have had to repurchase the following day for an international trip. I found the other staff just as helpful. The property is gorgeous and amenities were perfect. I really cannot wait to go back.

Beautiful ground. Nature trail exceeded expectations. we saw two sets of deer. Comfy and very quiet rooms. Kiddie pool and sliced were a big hit with the kids. I appreciated that even though is was cold outside (50) the kiddie pool was still comfortable warm and the kids had a blast without being cold. Staff all super friendly and staff at Sweetfire all knowledgeable and doing a great job (especially Paul).

We only had dinner and breakfast at Sweetfire and staff was great but we had the idea that not all ingredients listed on the menu actually made it in the dish.

only complain I have is that we went for the Easter weekend and when we wanted to make reservations for the brunch we were told it was full. on Sunday morning we noticed large numbers of people leaving after the brunch and went back to the restaurant and asked if guests were not given a preference and I was told NO. that was a big disappointment to hear and should immediately be corrected.

The staff was absolutely the best, friendly and very helpful. The views and grounds were impeccable. Beautiful. Our every need was met.

We were told that the pools were heated, yet they were NOT. As we weren’t able to swim the hot tub was our only option and children were in the ‘Adult Only’ hot tub. During a pandemic, you couldn’t really social distance in a hot tub situation. The weather on our first day was great for hanging by the pool but swimming in freezing water was a no-go. Very disappointed. The only other suggestion I have is the quality of the toilet paper, 1 ply, really? I expected a bit more comfort.

Property was surreal. Very nice place with top notch amenities.

The staff, especially the valet service and bellhops, were not very helpful. I asked for assistance several times and a few times was sort of ignored. Not sure if it is because I didn’t look wealthy or what but they definitely did not seem to care to help me. They were more occupied with the elite pulling up in there bentleys assuming they would tip more even though always tip generously if customer service is good.

This is a beautiful resort! We visited from Florida and really enjoyed the pools and views. Great service all around from staff, everyone was friendly. The pool staff was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. Our room was serviced everyday. Sweet Fire was great and we had great service. The shuttle to the Rim and Shops was an awesome perk we took advantage of a few times during our stay. We highly recommend this for a vacation or staycation!

I love the grounds everything was just beautiful! I love the gym! I am a bodybuilder so I always want to know where the gym is. I love the pools it was more than enough pool around

one of the restaurant's food was very bland. I went for breakfast and got chicken and waffles and the chicken had zero seasoning! I was very disappointed. I went to IHOP the rest of the time. I might go back and try the other restaurants for breakfast next time.
