We loved the jalapeno margaritas! The lobby is beautiful, and we enjoyed relaxing there with an after-dinner drink. Our bed was really comfy; I slept really well. Every one was very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend and stay again. ourselves.

Breakfast was the only let down for the entire stay. The sandwiches were dry and partially cold. I wish I would have known that there were rooms with private balconies when I reserved. We were disappointed we didn't get one, but that was probably my fault when i booked for not looking at all your room choices.

The hotel was able push our booking by a night after I goofed up the reservation. We ended up in an upgraded room at the same price. El Capitan *is* the downtown of Van Horn. Great parking for the motorcycles directly outside an entrance and very convenient to our room. Neat, tidy and well maintained property. Very comfy beds and an air conditioner that purrs effectively rather than roars. A very nice (and very busy) bar and restaurant with a nice wine selection and interesting entrees.

The hotel was as busy as I've ever seen it due to a pending Blue Origin launch. The restaurant was full and very loud. We waited for a table as there were no reservations.

The room was really nice and very clean. The private patio was very cute. The staff was very friendly especially Robert in the restaurant he still feed us even thought it was closed. It feels really good to know that there are still people who care. Thank you.

What I didn't like is the cleaning crew they were very loud and it didn't seem like they cared that people were trying to sleep. Also you could here what was going on in the very next room.

Very clean and a convenient location. The building is historic and nicely maintained. We loved being able to sit by the fireplace and the dining room/bar was cozy. It was so nice to just stay at the property and have dinner instead of getting back in the car after a long travel day. All of the staff we met were very friendly.

The room was SMALL. As this was expected from a historical property we were anticipating it would be.

The building is beautiful! The room was very nice and clean, just a little small but that's to be expected in a historical hotel. The bar on a Friday night appeared to be where all the locals came to have drinks and food. We had a dog with us so we sat out on the courtyard, had drinks and ordered food. The food was DELICIOUS! Staff was very nice.

The little patio we had needed to be cleaned and the main courtyard needed some sprucing up. The neon sign needed to be fixed and so did the ice machine. The area is a bit run down but we were assured it was safe.

Historic hotel with rustic charm, with the benefit of recent restoration and air conditioning. They have a very nice restaurant and bar in the the hotel. It was very hot when we visited, but the courtyard was still inviting.

The continental breakfast was a disappointment. The juices were kid's juice boxes, and not quality ones at that.

The hotel is very nice..old hotel that has been updated. The rooms are really small but they do have the amenities like refrig and microwave. No swimming pool.

It was on the pricey side for the room size. The breakfast was ok. We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but heard it was good..it was pricey as well.

Rooms comfortable and nostalgic

Water temp in shower was first too cold and unadjustable any hotter. Switched rooms and water was scalding unless turned almost to off. Last shower after 10 days finally seemed adjustable and comfortable.

Traveling through West TX is a chore! It's nice to have such a nice pet-friendly place to stop! The restaurant is top-notch and the rooms are very comfortable.

Not the hotel's fault, but the freight train noise was loud in this room, which was on the side of the building (and I'm used to trains where I live). Last visit I was on the backside of the building and didn't hear a thing!

Lovely old style hotel with excellent upgrades and interior modern fixtures. Comfortable, beds, excellent AC. Good breakfasts

Access for luggage awkward. Need ramp at the side door at parking up to the 2nd floor and elevator. Roll around luggage and carrier through the lobby difficult.
