Birchwood inn

The front desk ,Bob, is very friendly. It is a low key family run motel. The Roses are beautiful. Very nice stay. Although there was no breakfast , everything was fabulous. I was offered breakfast at another hotel. Highly recommend. The Roses and the cat 🐈 Smokey gave it extra charm.

Not really anything

The price of the room per night is what we were looking for.

The place doesn’t have a designated smoking area so people smoke right outside their rooms which is right next to our door. My wife has breathing problems with smoke.

The property was very well maintained. The roof, siding, and interior of the room were in very good condition, and there were roses planted against the elevated walkway (porch) that connects all the room entrances. I was really surprised to see the good condition and appreciated the very friendly owner at check-in. If I go back to Chincoteague, I will book this place again. The pool wasn't anything special, but it was clean and my daughter had a great time playing in it. The tub in the bathroom was deeper than most, which was nice when giving my daughter a bath.

It's not a fancy place, but that wasn't our expectation. The location is not close to main areas, so driving will be required.

The owner manager was friendly and helpful with area information. Recommended good restaurant, and was helpful with referrals for touring boats. The room was comfortable, and as budget motels go, was acceptable. I’m glad they had a small frig in the room.

The included continental breakfast was temporarily located at another local Days Inn motel (COVID related change) which was fine, but the actual breakfast was sub par. (Waffle machine worked, but no syrup or butter. Juice machine didn’t work. Coffee had run out. Hot pot had one sausage link left). I didn’t blame the Birchwood, but will be happy when they can start hosting their own continental breakfast again. Probably due to the preseason, the pool was empty, and the common areas appeared a little run down. The room was clean but stuffy, and smelled faintly like old cigarettes. I stayed two days, and the room wasn’t cleaned during my stay. (I probably could have reminded them, but was mostly out during my visit, and came back in the evening.)

It was clean. It was great for an overnight stay. The receptionist was nice. I had to call and see if we would still be able to be checked in since we were coming from five hours away and it would be late. She have me instructions of what to do and it was nice not to have to wake anyone up.

The bed was hard and squeaked Everytime you moved even the slightest bit.

There wasn't much breakfast to choose from. There was just plain bagels and 1 choice of cereal and it was a bran cereal. Nothing Yummy. No fruit or Danishes.

The ants in the room were a little excessive. Also no eating supplies or cups or plates in the kitchenette.

I liked the location of the place. The owner and his wife were very nice and accommodating. The place had a nice outdoor pool and the motel had a sense of community.

The place was an early Americana style. We had the efficiency room with a stove and fridge which was nice. But bring all your own supplies. No pots or pans or dinnerware. Luckily we had some. Place could use some updates but the new owner has plans.

Excellent market value. Clean, air-conditioned room. Hot shower, comfortable bed, 4 pillows each bed. We enjoyed the cool inviting pool, and the long pier. Quiet, convenient location. Friendly, helpful staff. Kitchenette with mid-size refrigerator was perfect for our groceries.

Refrigerator was clean but freezer section needed defrosting. There were no pots and pans in the kitchenette.

The accommodations were wonderful. They are located in a quiet section of Chincoteague. The bed was comfortable. The room was large enough to accommodate a Pack and Play if needed. The staff was on-site and eager to meet our needs.

We were very comfortable during our short stay! Everything was very clean, bed was very comfortable. Everyone on staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We found the coffee pot to be in a bit of a strange location, had to move it to operate. Very small issue.
