Hotel J Green Bay

Friendly staff and maids. Maids always greeted us warmly and with a smile. They worked hard and as a team, Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was great (handicap near entrance and our room). The breakfast was very good. Hotel was quite and location was easy to find and easy to get to other activities with car. They had a pool but it was rather small. Tv had lots of channels to select from.

Pool was small with NO adult swim hours. On one day, 5 kids (ages approx. 8-12) occupied the pool area running, jumping into pool and throwing a football around. They regularly ran into lobby area where adult (their mother/grandmother?) sat watching TV. They made the whole lobby floor wet and slippery. NO SUPERVISION OR CORRECTION. They stayed until pool closed. My wife wanted to swim but felt unable to use pool. Hotel room looked old and smelt a bit musty.

Cleanliness was top notch. The lady who serviced the breakfast room was friendly, helpful & polite. Rooms were a really nice size, parking was ample, staff was mostly pleasant, save for one person, pool was nice but a bit cloudy. Breakfast variety was terrific & always stocked. Bed was really comfortable.

The pool was a bit cloudy. One of the front desk ladies (White) was speaking with a co-worker about a problem guest (?) & used several profanities in her conversation to include the "f-word." Biscuits were tough. Breakfast coffee was terrible quality, but in-room was decent if you used two packets per cup. Shower head should be raised to accommodate guys like me who are 6'3".

The room was comfortable and provided ample space for the three of us. The hotel was easy to get to and had plenty of amenities nearby - gas station, restaurants, etc. Although it was located adjacent to a small airport, we were never bothered by any noise from planes taking off or landing.

Breakfast selection could have been better. We arrived about 45 minutes before the end of serving hours and there wasn't much left. We had to find the hostess and ask for more milk to be brought out. There were still others arriving for breakfast as well and the options available to us all were minimal. Breakfast options were the same each morning - no variation on hot items provided. Overall, it was a disappointing free breakfast offering.

Firstly, the scale of the place is not something you truly are prepared for, and it was massive in comparison to the photos. Secondly, I adored the comforts of the bed, the friendliness of the staff with which you could truly converse with and enjoy the company of, and lastly I think the place was overall just a great place to be in.

Well, if there is any room for something like this, I wish the pool was a little bigger, and the rooms while not small as other hotels, could have been a smidge bigger, but this is a small complaint in the greater scale of the place.

The beds and mattresses are so comfortable, it's been a while since I've been in hotels in this price range that provide mattresses at this level. Breakfast was a plus, eggs, sausages, and healthy alternatives were also available which my wife appreciated.

I think the only thing I didn't like was the main sink in the room was outside the bathroom area near & facing the exit door and didn't have a place to hang your towels, so it was back or forward between the sink area to the bathroom/ shower to get the towels. and especially when you have kids around with you and you don't want to be top-naked and shave in public in the main room, felt very uncomfortable.

Hotel J looks like it was a La Quinta or a Super 8 in the distant past, but refurbished into a nicer place by the airport. As a result, the interior looked nice and was in generally - with an exception, see the thumbs down - good repair. The room I had was quite comfortable, and clean; I slept readily after dinner. The look as per the rest of the place was modern looking. Hotel J is also close to the freeway, so access after a long drive is trival. Nice and helpful staff, as well. I could see myself making it a base of operations for a month in and around Green Bay.

One or two bad points. I saw a power outlet box in a hallway jutting out a bit on the second floor near the elevator. A bit of a safety issue, certainly aesthetically unpleasant, I reported this to the front desk and they said they'd sic matinence on it. Great, correct result. A more systemic issue was the continental breakfast. The coffee and waffles were fine, but other hot food - the eggs, sausage and biscuits - were a bit subpar. The sausage was a little too greasy, so I could imagine stomach upset if you eat such heavy food there, and catch a plane in a hurry. That said, it came with the room and it didn't affect my constitution, but it's a consideration.

I booked this room for an appointment I had downtown the next day, as I live 2+ hours north in the UP. The decor was stunning, the pool area was nice and the whirlpool was relaxing. I loved how there's a TV guide available, most hotels I've been to do not have a physical guide. My bed was very comfortable, shower was perfect. Loved having a desk, microwave, mini fridge, and coffee maker at my disposal. The breakfast room was very warming, I loved the juice dispenser. I will say I wish there were more non-dairy options, but nonetheless, everything was super satisfactory. Definitely coming back for my future appointments, and fully recommending Hotel J to others that are going to be in GB. LOVE THIS PLACE!

None of the disability/ handicap rooms have walk in showers from what i have found, not very helpful for people w mobility issues. Also all disability rooms appear to only have 1 queen bed and are in adjoining rooms w door in between whose rooms are rented out to someone else - my last few visits the people next door though have been very loud , possibly the door in between the connecting rooms by the window are not very sound proof. Having more disability rooms w 2 beds would also be nice if someone else stays w me.. Please update tv channel system also, as far as the guide of whats playing on tv. Currently you can only refer to a few specific channels for whats playing info & can't find on the actual channel. Any updates for those issues would be great. Thanks much!

The front staff were super nice. Place was clean and taken care of. It was great that housekeeping didn't come every single day. They also provided free breakfast every morning in the lobby. It was well stocked. Pool was provided but never used it. I would come here again.

Upon check in, the front staff was nice but she didn't recognize my debit card as a physical bank. She told me that it was a cash app card(paypal, chime) so we went back and forth about it until she said okay. Everytime entering the room, there was a weird smell like dampness, not sure what it was.

Too many chemicals in the pool/ pool area. Both my kids, husband, friends, and their kids. Plus, other guests staying at the same time as us remarked on the heavy chemical smell/ feel of the pool & area. Eye irritation & persistent cough/ sore throat lingered after swimming- we didn’t swim or go into pool area the last 3 days we were there (5 total) all eye issues, and coughs stopped hours after being away from pool (started within minutes of being in pool area). Stay out of the pool and your stay will be perfect
