Wildwood Lodge

The staff are very nice, they are always available, they kept the community areas clean. The staff helped with any and everything i need. i love how from your room you can walk right into the pool area if your on the first floor. the second and third floor you can see the pool from you room. i love that there is a nice size space in the room for like a “mini lounge room”. They have games that you can play like connect four, bowling, tumble etc. They always have blocks for the kids if you want to work out right outside the door ( with big windows). The pool wasn’t that packed when we went. They make some really good lemonade that’s self serving all day.

The bathroom was poorly cleaned. The bathtub looked as if a couple of people had a bath. The sink had toothpaste on the side of it facing towards me (not the top counter). the hot tub had dirt bubbles from all of the dirt in there. the first night it didn’t smell like there was anyone chlorine in the pool it honestly smelt bad but the second night you could smell it as soon as you opened the pool doors.

Breakfast is nice.....hot options. Rooms are large and have comfortable chairs and a desk large enough for a few suitcases.

We did not realize you must request a room refresh for your second night. We came back to the room to our same wet towels and no more coffee pods. Upon check out I mentioned this and was advised we needed to request that service. The rooms need some upkeep, very slow drain in sink, the above the sink light was slow to illuminate, then one of the bulbs was out, TV signal was lost multiple times trying to watch a show.

Staff were friendly. Pool was warm, which I love. Location was great for where I had to go. The bar was nice, just wish they gave out a chip for the free drink to all adults not just one. Would stay again.

Room was clean for the most part, when we pulled out the bed of the sofa sleeper there was garbage stuffed under the cushions and under it on the floor. Water pressure for the shower was really low. Under the counter in the bathroom was garbage.The room overlooked the pool and had a strong chlorine smell. The remote to the TV was really dirty and gross, took it down to the front desk and got it replaced and let them know about the room. We arrived early, room wasn't ready yet, which was okay, front desk said give them 45 minutes and it would be clean, not sure if they felt rushed to get it done and that was the problem or what.

The staff is the star of this place! They make up for the rooms and pool area being a little worse for the wear. The lobby is great with jumbo Jenga and Connect 4 games (plus many others in standard size). The pool is spacious and goes to 4ft. It was perfect for us. The breakfast was good the first morning and well tended to but not so much the 2nd morning. Most things were not replenished in a timely manner. Folks were having to take a lot longer to get finished due to the wait which left others standing around with no tables. I brought two 8 year old girls and a special needs adult. They all had a blast. The staff was very kind and patient. Especially the maid service. We stayed in room 100 and the girl who serviced our room was so warm and friendly. The room was fine but no microwave! There is one in the breakfast area that they said we could use though.

Some of the finer details like missing tiles made the room a bit drab if you looked too closely but we spent our time in the pool.

property is a good value and perfectly located for our plans

the pool was closed 2 days during our stay, for repairs. we were allowed to use the pool at the hotel across the street. it would not have been a problem but it happened to be the one day we wanted to use it.

Excellent stay, love the decor. Very nice, very clean.

Staff was less than thorough. When requesting a late checkout we're at first told to wait until check in, at check in we were told to wait till morning, that next morning we were told that it was too early to request such a thing. You could have simply said no on the first place. When the staff was told that the drain plug in the bathroom sink was stuck and would not drain, it was removed. Leaving and open drain for the duration of our stay.

The rooms are spacious, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The pool area was clean and spacious. The games in the lobby were fun and inviting.

There was no microwave oven in the room. The drains in both the sink and bathtub drained slowly.. The waffle iron did not work properly but to their credit, the breakfast staff member worked very hard to get it to work.

Break fast was good, orange juice was bitter and there was no fruit.

Pool had to be close due to a child bathroom accident, closing the pool was understandable, but more staffing might have been able to get it cleaned and opened up so your guests to use it again, we stayed at this motel so we could use the pool and hot tub and were unable to.

It's an older hotel property, but the look has been freshened up with a north woods theme. The desk in the King room was huge, and that was very helpful. It's the best hotel desk I've ever seen.

I had a non-smoking room, but it smelled of smoke. It's probably in the wallpaper and carpet. The room would require a complete gut remodel to get it out, so I understand why the hotel hasn't done it. But it is annoying.

easy to get to, reasonably priced

you can hear the highway from the rooms facing the highway, we asked to move to the other side and the front desk person was nice and did that for us. the breakfast was decent but most things ran out and it was difficult to find someone to refill things. I thing that person was also vacuuming the lobby which isn’t very sanitary
