Holiday Inn Express Milwaukee - West Medical Center, an IHG Hotel

I stayed here for over a week as I prepared to move cross-country, and I was very anxious because I had my cat with me. The front desk staff were very helpful in accommodating pet stay, and would greet me whenever I come and go. Breakfast was basic, but good enough for me and really nice to have with the price point. I worked at the medical college, and the hotel is located less than 10min away by car. Mayfair was also easily accessible.

It took a bit of effort to get housekeeping, but I assume it was because a pet was involved. I wish there was slightly more parking, as it got really difficult to park over the weekend.

A/C and internet worked well, comfy bed and hot shower.

Simply providing fresh real eggs would instantly put Holiday Inn above all other competition. I travel a lot via booking.com for work about 60% of the year staying at different hotels and everyone offers the same powdered eggs. I started booking at Bed&Breakfasts because of it. Guests would immediately choose you first simply from this option alone. Apart from that hotels basically offer the same things. Set yourself above the competition!

The breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff was outstanding. He even prepared more food even when it was close to closing to satisfy myself and other customers.

After asking hotel management and staff who were on the night shift to tidy up the room with new towels and taking out the trash after 2 days, the service never occurred. I was not informed that the service needed to be requested at the initial check in due to COVID protocols. That would have been nice to know. Other than that, the hotel was an excellent value. My stay was not bad at all.

The location was great for what we needed. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We requested rooms to be together, and they ended up being adjoining. Worked out great. Breakfast was hot and good each morning.

We had a couple of issues with key cards not working on a side door, but not a big deal at all.

Great location, relatively quiet. The beds and pillows are SO COMFORTABLE I didn't want to get out of bed. The room is very spacious. They have very nice Samsung flat screen with a great selection of cable channels and the A/C worked great. Bonus that they have a microwave, refrigerator and a Keurig-type coffee machine. It also has a very nice balcony/porch if you want to go outside or even open the door for a bit of fresh air. All of their toiletries are J.R. Watkins, which I love and smell SOOOOO good! They all worked very well. The bathroom itself is a little small, but completely sufficient for one person and my purposes. The breakfast was also very plentiful and had almost everything you could want for a free, continental breakfast. It had hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage), and a great array of other foods such as toast, bagels, cream cheese, pastries, milk, juice, fruit, cereal, and yogurt. The coffee was FANTASTIC!! I am a lover of good, strong, coffee and this did not disappoint - and they had liquid half and half for creamer - YES! The staff was very friendly, everywhere I went - if I passed a staff member, they always had a smile and said, "Good Morning" or "Hello." Overall, a great place to stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again if needed.

The only thing that wasn't great was that the breakfast on my second morning there was late, so I couldn't partake (had to leave early). It's supposed to be 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM, but it wasn't ready until about 6:30 AM.

Very good breakfast, nice staff at the kitchen, she was very pleasant and helpful. Very helpful staff at front desk, room was very comfortable.

Air conditioner didn't work when we got in the room, but housekeeping staff came and "reset" it and it immediately worked, they were SO helpful and pleasant and we were able to joke with them. They were very willing to relocate us to a different room before they realized they fixed the air. Weight room was next door, was a bit noisy, but not a terrible thing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and much better then at the other hotel we stayed at.

When the smoke detector went off at 1:40am in the morning.

Breakfast was good, location was perfect and the staff was really nice.

The parking. We drove around for 5 minutes before we realized there was another parking lot in the back for customers

Air con system is tired and doesn’t keep up if the weathers warm.

Breakfast was typical for a hotel. Good enough to not have to find a place to eat breakfast in the morning.

Bacon on breakfast buffet but not turkey bacon, the sausage was turkey sausage.
