We just finished staying here for the week. This place is a true oasis just far enough out of the old town. The staff went above and beyond to help us in many ways. They were able to organise scooters for us for the week, transport from Da Nang and then 5 hours away to our next destination, their recommendations for sights were spot on and enabled our stay to be that bit more enjoyable. When at the hotel they were always kind and friendly. Saying hello and happy to chat. The pool and grounds were amazing. Fresh towels every time we had a swim. The gardens just gave the place a truly tranquil feel. The rooms were some of the largest we have stayed in during our 6 months of travel. They were made spotless each day by the cleaners. Bathroom was huge and the shower was strong and warm. The rooms also have a comfortable seating area other than the bed which is always nice. Aircon was very good and kept the rooms very cool. They have a little verandah which was also nice to sit at. Breakfast at the hotel was very tasty with a good selection of foods. They had the best bacon we have had in Vietnam. The location is great. About 15min walk from the hustle and bustle but only 5min on one of the free bikes. We rented scooters and it enabled us to get around easily. A couple of minutes into town and maybe 10min to the beach. Truly can't say enough good things about this hotel and the staff. Thankyou so much for making our stay such a pleasant one.

To be honest everything. Room was great with usual massive bed . Large shower and very clean. Far enough from Hoi An town to be quiet but close enough to go there. Bicycles provided if you want to use them. 5 to town on bike and about 20 to a beautiful beach. Breakfast in hotel about £3 and although not a buffet enough to get you through the day. The pool was a great size for a small hotel and the gardens were outstanding. I would fully recommend this hotel. Also many bars and spas and supermarket less than 2 minutes from the hotel. The staff were excellent and Vang the lady wo manages the hotel organised many trips through a hired driver and helped us book overnight train tickets. She was outstanding.

Nothing and that's the truth

My wife and I stayed 17 nights including 10 nights with our family of 5 with three teenage grandkids. The property was beautiful with a good sized pool and stunning gardens. The owners and staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Whilst our room was showing a little bit of age it was large, quiet, comfortable and clean. The breakfast provided was very good as were the free bikes for guest use. About a 15 min walk to the Old Town and a little bit longer to the River restaurants or a very short taxi ride. There were also some very good local restaurants nearby.

The only small issue we had was that the hot water supply was unreliable. It took some time for water to heat up and quite often it didn't at all resulting in a few cold showers. Due to the generally hot conditions it wasn't a big issue.

This is a wonderful family run little hotel set up in a backstreet which feels like a welcoming green and quiet oasis in the scorching hot hustle and bustle of Vietnam. It was extremely hot at this time of year and the swimming pool was a godsend. The very comfortable, spacious and clean rooms were also great to escape the heat. I made a mistake with my booking wrongly thinking I had picked interconnecting rooms for the children and ourselves but the helpful hotel staff were quick to point it out and change the arrangement, readjusting the bill (we were grateful for such honesty). Breakfast was great. The location is a bit of town. This wasn't a problem for us and we took taxis (which we found easily) to get to the centre. The hotel also has free bikes which we used to get to town and to the beach (great bonus!). We'd definitely stay again and longer this time!

The hosts, especially ms Vang were helpfull and covered all our needs/questions. The homestay has a beautifully decorated inside patio/garden with an amazing pool which makes you escape the city. Breakfast was on menu and had really good fresh fruit. Location for people enjoying and culture and the beach is perfect (1.5km from both) and is calmer than Hoi An center. In short a place to recommend

We booked the most expensive room, the bungalow, and expected it to be well decorated and well located. To us, as a couple the bungalow felt a bit empty and soulless compared to the rest of the place and would deserve better decoration and also a good in depth tidy up.

We stayed here for a few days 10 years ago and always said that we would come back. Eventually we made it and stayed for a week. If anything Betel Gardens is better than before, the staff, the rooms, the food is outstanding as is the location. In the time since we last stayed here a number of excellent family run restaurants have sprung up within walking distance serving quality Vietnamese food. Talking to other guests we found that we were not the only ones returning to Betel Gardens - says it all really.

Nothing, it’s great

The accommodation is conveniently located a walking distance from the old town, but far enough to be out of the tourist hot spot. The garden with all the beautiful plants and the pool are really inviting, it is like a slice of paradise where you get to come back after a busy day, to relax. The breakfast was limited, but had everything one might need and it was delicious. The room we had was really spacious. The personnel was helpful and kind at all times. This is way more than anyone could wish for in this price class.

I must agree with the other guests that complained about the caged birds. It broke our heart every time we have seen, or heard them. But on the other hand, we should not forget that this was also common in western culture not too long ago. The facilities in the room are a bit outdated, but everything was more than fair for the price.

ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, if I could put more than 10 I would do it , I’ve been travelling for 11 months, and this is by far the best hotel I had, from the kindness of the people, to the amazing and generous breakfast, the huge room was perfectly cleaned With everything you need , and filled with water & coffee every day , the beautiful garden & swimming pool, a true little oasis in Hoi an , you can rent scooter , free bike , restaurant near buy , calm , not in the touristy center, but close enough by bike 5 min ! I recommend this place 300 % !

The villa was the perfect stay for a relaxing holiday. It was down a quiet lane but close to awesome restaurants and the old town. The pool was lovely and a nice spot to relax in the heat. The room was very clean, comfortable and the air conditioning was great. The staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. They had complimentary bikes and towels for the beach which was helpful. I'd definitely return for a relaxing stay.

The breakfast was great, lots of choices: pancakes, yogurt, eggs and vietnamese options. The location was a little further from the city center, but it was only a 10 min ride with the bike, 30 min walking or 5 min with a taxi. We loved that it was on a very quiet location, not in the business of the city center. The bed was really comfy, the room was spacious, there was a minibar with prices similar to the supermarket prices.
