Dorsett Gold Coast

The hotel was well appointed and seamless check in experience. Leisure deck was a huge highlight and the mid week stay meant the property was quiet.

The rooms didn’t have basic amenities even lacked pen and notepad also the lack of good in room coffee I expected at least a plunger instant is not acceptable.

I stayed at the Dorsett for the night as I was attending a concert at the adjoining Casino. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, whilst showing their professionalism. As you entered the foyer you were greeted by friendly, smiling staff. It was quite busy at check-in time and the staff were chatting to all of the customers who were waiting in line to check-in. They were asking what was the reason for our stay at the Dorset and they appeared interested in our reasons. We were offered a glass of water whilst we were waiting which was a lovely touch. The check-in reception staff were great too, friendly, offering advice on what to do, where to go to eat and was given a free drink voucher to enjoy a drink in the bar. She also validated the parking for me too. All of the staff from the porters, reception and bar staff they were all amazing, going above and beyond to assist you in any way they could. The room was clean and had everything you needed. There was a balcony too, you could sit outside have a drink and some nibbles and watch the world go by.

If I had to nit pick anything that was a little negative, it would be the bed, it was a little hard for me. Maybe a mattress topper would make the mattress a little softer and a little more comfortable. Apart from that little thing, I had a fantastic stay at the Dorsett and I will definitely staying there again.

Beautiful rooms and very clean. Great location and friendly service mostly. Good price. Beautiful pool area and very conveniently accessible to the Casino.

Beds could have been comfier. Would have liked some bath robes, tried to call concierge and reception but no answer. Also when we were in a rush to get going we asked if our bags could be taken to the room, this seemed too difficult so we ended up just taking them ourselves.

The rooms are modern and beautifully appointed. The bathrooms are very large, with motion sensor lighting under the sink (and many other lighting options throughout the room - e.g. pelmet only). There is a heated mirror meaning that it doesn't fog up when you shower - a nice touch. We were offered a late checkout of 12pm. The staff were prompt and friendly. The pool/bar area is gorgeous!

The wifi was incredibly patchy, meaning that the TV kept dropping out, but we visited on a very busy weekend (due to the races) so hopefully this isn't always the case. The breakfast options were rather limited and also expensive, but the cinnamon scrolls were delicious. More options for room service would be nice.

I was disappointed that the pool area was closed. I was also disappointed that the hotel only provides 2 black tea bags each day. This is ridiculous, I have about 5 cups minimum a day. other hotels have a tray of teabags to choose from. For the money it is poor. The hand soap containers are very hard to use especially with arthritis in hands. Both my husband and I had trouble getting hand wash out of bottle, my husband has strong hands and he had trouble. Beds were so hard, you need to supply bed toppers. Can’t believe a 5 star hotel didn’t have Foxtel. Also charging for a movie is ridiculous too. A luxury hotel should include all these things.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dorsett Gold Coast for five nights. My booking was for a Deluxe Twin room and I was pleasantly surprised with our location on the 13th floor, which provided a stunning view of not only the beautifully heated pool but also the surrounding area. The highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional service provided by Daniyar. His warm and friendly demeanor made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel's location is good, providing easy access to all the attractions Gold Coast has to offer. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dorsett Gold Coast to anyone looking for a memorable stay in this beautiful place.

Everything was satisfactory.

The staff were friendly and professional. The bed was great, no back ache the next morning. Hightech lighting with conveniently placed control panels were a bonus, there was also a sensor light in the bathroom for night time trips to the loo! Pod coffee machine in the room although only 2 pods/day supplied but when we asked they were happy to give us a couple extra. Mini fridge provided empty for guests use so you can take your own drinks. Our king room was great for a 3 night stay but any longer and we would have wanted something bigger. Parking $20/day extra so the cheap rate not so cheap but still reasonable. Two free drinks offered in the Jin Bar which has well priced drinks during Happy Hour and we received two complimentary drinks. The barman was very good and made great cocktails. Short walk to Pacific Fair and the casino attached to the accommodation so restaurants, bars and gaming all in the same building. We enjoyed our stay.

The bed was made with a bottom sheet and a doona enclosed in two more sheets. We had to deconstruct the bed each night to remove the doona as we find them too hot to sleep under. Most hotels use this method though so must be standard.

We absolutely loved staying at the Dorsett. The location was perfect - nice & close to everything. The hotel itself was clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the staff were so friendly & accommodating. We weren't due to check in till 3pm but I rung the front desk at 8am on the morning of, where I asked if we could come any earlier. The gentleman I spoke with advised me they had a room ready and we could come now if we wanted. We checked in at 1030am and even got a late check out of 1pm the next day ($30 extra which I was more than happy to pay) Will definitely be back when we stay in the GC again :)

Loved the location The room was super nice and really spacious. I loved how great in reality how accessible things are to this hotel! Food,transport and activities everywhere. The customer service team was the best I’ve had in a longtime. Meals,activities and event suggestions not to mention help with a hunt for a late night snack! We would happily stay again!

The parking is stressful and it is heavily explained when booking, you are not guaranteed a parking space. My advice is park the car and leave it as much as as possible and if you do have to drive, make sure you avoid parking at dinner time it’s pretty hectic Friday and Saturday nights. Still though we were patient and got a park both times we left the car park. Not a bad thing but the pool was being renovated so we missed out still but will definitely be back to see it!

Staff are helpful and friendly. We arrived earlier than check-in time and we were quite tired from an early morning flight, Sara was very accommodating and made arrangements to prioritise to have our room ready so we we're able to check in an hour early. Place is close to beach, mall and shops which was handy. Room is very clean and modern.

Pool closed, they gave us access to the Star pool facilities which is still great except we had to pass by hotel/casino lobby in our swimming clothes. We enjoyed the pool nevertheless, especially my 2 kids. Parking was a bit tricky at first. Would be nice if parking fees included in booking fee.
