Woodroffe Hotel

nice and clean, great location. king bed is 2 single beds put together. We didn't mind this at all just something to consider when booking.

Parking costs extra 10$ per night and it's limited. We were willing to pay but still couldn't get a spot because there wasn't any available. Plenty of street parking tho. In front of the hotel it is metered but on the surrounding streets it is unmetered 3P during the week, no limit on the weekends.

Great location. Within walking distance of Southport's CBD shopping centres & businesses, you can also easily access the G tram/light rail which goes to Surfers Paradise/Broadbeach & Helensvale rail station (trains to Brisbane). Without the frills (e.g. swimming pool) but with a cafe (no need to go out for breakfast etc.). Very clean & quiet with a 'no party' policy. Loved how part of the window opens, allowing that fresh Gold Coast air to come into your room. If you like a functional base yet be able to explore further this venue is a very viable option.

A bit of fresh paint on the door & walls in the foyer. Maybe new carpet but still very nicely maintained.

The location was absolutely fantastic. The room was be very modern.

Instructions on check-in the staff were very blunt and to the point. We unfortunately had to pay for parking on the street as they did not have anything available, advance, ask for parking when you book. My wife had to ask for a couple of wine glasses for our room and it was like having to give up your unborn child but eventually she was able to get them but was given strict instructions on where they should be left when we checked out. Oh well, it was a nice wine.

The location was ideal as it was situated within walking distance from the South Southport tram station. Also, there are quite a few restaurants very close by in addition to Australia Fair. There was a good mixture of restaurants to cater for different cuisine preferences.

The bathroom was cleaned impeccably however, the shower only has glass part of the way, so you had to be careful not to flood the bathroom. Though this seems to be a feature that is prominent in most hotels that have been renovated or built recently. It also would’ve been nice to have a cupboard or some storage space for the luggage.

I was very happy with my stay at the Woodroffe Hotel. The location was perfect for me .. close to Chinatown, the Light Rail, and yet away from the city in a quiet residential area. This hotel was great value for money and approx half the price of the highrise resorts closer to the beach. I booked a deluxe room which was generous in size ... and a corner room on the 6th floor, which had two large windows with pleasant views. The bathroom was modern, large, and spotlessly clean. The cafe served good coffee .. but I did not try their food. There was free unlimited street parking available close by from 5pm Friday to 9am Monday, which was perfect for my stay. This hotel is owned and managed by Japanese people .. and bosts a high standard of efficiency and cleanliness coupled with good value. I will make this my preferred place to stay for any future trips to the Gold Coast.

I only have 2 concerns. 1. The bed frame seemed to be of poor quality. On close inspection..it was a pine slat bed that had ill fitting slats that moved or collapsed when stressed. 2. The on-site secure parking was limited and heavily booked.. if required.. ensure you book well in advance.

Comfortable rooms Breakfast included in our room rate was good. Easy to walk to all nearby restaurants and the Broadwater.

Parking not available on every night at the hotel. No free parking on nearby streets except Sunday.

Very clean and very organised. Fast and efficient service. Great shower, fantastic bed. Quiet room, though could hear garbage truck around 5am on Monday morning. Fantastic breakfast and friendly staff.

Communicating with staff regarding turning my twin room into a double room. communicating with staff about an earlier check in. Would have liked a small jug of milk than the long life milk. Would have liked cookies and more toiletries in room, esp for price paid for room. Bathroom floor flooded from shower. A thicker bathmat to soak up water or a curtain over the shower would have stopped the water.

Easy to find location and convenient underground secure parking onsite . The hotel is modern , EXTREMELY clean and well staffed . Front desk were extremely helpfull and cooperative in every way . The rooms are modern , extremely clean and super comfortable . It is located in southport so if you dot need to be in the midst of surfers , this is a great alternative , excellent for business travellers with a good Breakfast also available onsite , close to restaurants & hotels in southport and just feet away from the light rail so really convenient !! Highly recommended and look forward to staying here again !!

The communication to my phone explaining my late check-in procedure. The Cafe in the Lobby is run by friendly staff and fantastic Coffee and the Premium Breakfast was delicious and fresh. All the Staff at this Hotel just make you feel welcome the cleaners also take pride in there work. Found this Hotel just in a random search and it exceeded my expectations. I travel a lot and this Hotel is so convenient and comfortable. Location is in quiet area and only 2 minutes walk to clubs and restaurants. I ended up staying an extra night. Thank you for a great stay.
