Modern apartment, comfortable beds, ample undercover parking, friendly staff, modern bathroom, nice long bench & chairs to eat at, new full water bottles & milk in the fridge, even had 2x Milo sachets! Thank you so much!!

Freezer too small so didn’t freeze esky ice-bricks overnight, but we think the previous guest must have turned the internal thermostat to off deliberately, so inside the fridge was hot when we arrived. Simply turning it on worked. (We believe it may have been a previous child guest?!). One thing that maybe reconfigured is the electricity socket near the beds in the second room - they were at the end of the bed, behind the bedroom door not near the bedside table, (only making it awkward to reach the charging mobile phone.

Really enjoyed relaxing spa, whole room exceptionally clean and delightfully surprised assortment condiments. Definitely stay again!😊

Receptionist could of been friendlier more engaging in conversation - I was interested selection health products displayed but wasn't all that fussed questions I'd enquired about. Possibly distracted 2 people sitting accompanying her. Oh well loss of sale. Will research buy all 4 products elsewhere. Following morning check-out didn't seem present either. I guess we're all human and can have an off day/s. Hope all is well!

We have stayed in various motels in Nebo Road, Mackay, and in our opinion this is the best motel to stay at. The rooms are a good size, parking spaces are usually available outside your room and are and big enough to park larger vehicles, the facilities in the room are good and it is nice and quiet. The designated smoking area is set up in the centre of the car park and therefore not outside any rooms. The receptionist was helpful when we had to add another night to our booking at short notice.

Nothing. This room met our requirements and was as we expected.

Great Check In process. Quick and Efficient. The girl on reception normally doesn't work reception as per our conversation and she did amazing. Fantastic gem. Beds were comfortable. And room was pleasant with air con on at arrival. Housekeeping should be proud as the room was very clean and tidy. Will return it was amazing for my 2 fur babies. Thank you

$148.50 was a bit steep. But was happy to pay extra for the dogs being allowed to stay.

Enjoyed restaurant. Lovely receptionist. Even dog is welcomed with bed and bowls. Ground floor so can unpack car. Nice pool and outside room table and seats. Also check the delightful gift shop items at reception.

The flight path - not many but first one is a surprise! Room design does not allow a lounge chair. Not sure if I like hand basin outside the bathroom....however I would happily stay here again!

Very friendly from when I arrived to the minute we left. Room was a great size as we have 2 Toy Cavoodles and 1 is young so in an extra large puppy playpen and it fitted nicely in the room. The shower was great plenty of room in the bathroom.

It would be good if they could somehow make up an area for dogs to have a bit of undercover for toileting especially as we were there on a very wet day. But this is a minor thing and didn't affect our opinion on staying again. As in fact we are tomorrow night due to road closures, they were booked out tonight.

Room was good and clean staff are always great. Family room is a real 2 rooms not just a long single room like others we have stayed with. Shower has plenty of hot water and aircons work great. Free internet is fast. Tv's were smart TV's so Netflix and anything else worked great.

Only thing I can say was were not happy with is we ordered coffees (real coffee machine coffee's) with breakfast and the cups were only half full. When this was raised with the front counter staff they were fully apologetic and offered replacements.

I was checking in late after driving for ten hours. I collected my keys from the safe and drove to my room. I was blown away to see a bucket and windscreen scrubber next to my door. Now that is incredible care and going the extra mile. The room was super clean and beds, pillows very comfy. Tv was a great size too. The restaurant was fantastic and had a great feel. Highly recommended

I like a full size iron. The iron was small but still clean

The bed was very comfy, food at restaurant was amazing! True delicious comfort food. Eating at the restaurant was a highlight for us. Attention to detail in room as well. Loved the shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and moisturiser in big container like at 5 star hotels. Was very impressed by the attention to detail. Will have no hesitations staying here again.

We left early for our road trip, so we missed out on the breakfast. Looked really good!

Overall the Alara is a nice clean motel to stay. Great having cold bottled water. Wonderful offering Milo and hot chocolate plus tea and coffee.

1. Bring back china mugs/cups. You can't reuse paper cup after Milo/Hot chocolate and only twice after tea or coffee; the wooden spoons are almost too small. 2. The mattress kept moving off the single bed. 3. Not all people like going to a restaurant. Please provide some sort of room service
