Lantern Motor Inn

A clean and tidy room with everything I needed for a stay in town. Cutlery, clean cups and mugs, shampoo/conditioner/soap, hand and face towels. The shower pressure and temperature was 10/10, a good shower is something I value and the Lantern Motor Inn exceeded my expectations in size of the shower and pressure. The rooms were a decent size with plenty of extra furniture and a table to sit at. Netflix was logged in and available and the Air con system worked well. A few people mentioned noise from the road in reviews but for the excellent location I feel that is to be expected, with the bathroom door shut and after around 10pm I couldn’t hear a thing. I will be staying here again in the future.

There was an issue with the Room next to me and an unruly guest but that isn’t anything to do with the staff or venues fault. The staff handled it extremely quickly and took my concerns seriously, I was very impressed with their response.

All staff friendly, welcoming, helpful. Good price. Room very clean, and although older, it had everything required for a comfortable stay. Doubled glazed windows assist with any traffic noise. Had shops close by, i.e supermarket, take aways, liquor shop, and a hotel also in walking distance.

Not much to dislike but a little jug to help fill the electric kettle would be helpful, (as with most hotels without kitchenettes it's difficult filling the kettle from basin tap.)

Central location and easy access to everything. I stayed only one night and had to fly out, the manager and staff were very polite and helpful, the room was nice and very tidy with air conditioning. The room had microwave, toaster, hot water jug, ironing board and an iron. It has onsite carpark as well.

Breakfasts were great - except that I thought they were included in the booking request - I thought I had received confirmation that it would be at no extra charge. When checked with receptionist she knew nothing about it - the additional $160 or whatever it was came as a huge shock to say the least. You mention the free parking space - it was not requested. We did not have a car - we flew from Brisbane and my son picked us up every morning and brought us back each evening. We had no need for any parking at all.

We were happy with what we used. Except for the breakfast charge - but they were very hood.

Great location walk to everything; eg Servo, meals IGA, PO and more. The staff were all lovely & eager to help.

No PowerPoint near the bed for sleep apnoea machine so went without. Exhaust fan in bathroom does not work. It makes a noise but not turning. A broom or shovel & brush would be good to clean up any droppage. Also a rubber mat under microwave to stop slipping on fridge would make it easier to open & close.

it’s an older property but it’s exceptionally clean. also the little things, like cutlery being in the cupboard for when you walk back with your takeaway and they didn’t provide it. never fear, it’s already here! 😂

nothing. I even had to park in the street because my vehicle was just too high (travelling in a lifted 4wd with a rooftop tent) but it was really no hassle at all

We are very grateful and thankful for Sarah to help us to change the date when we were not able to get there. The motel’s car pots are under cover, room and bathroom are very specious. We especially love the wooden and bamboo furniture and the bamboo pattern tiles in the bathroom. We ordered breakfast which was delivered to room and it was great.

The staff, both the new owner, Sarah & the other staff members were extremely helpful and polite and kind too. Whether in their work hours or not, they still responded with promptness & kindness.

The only issue was the price was probably 15 too much when looking at the amount of time we stayed per night, however,they made up for this in terms of being able to do washing etc.

Staff was so friendly they even let me check in early. I love this place and will always try to book my stay with them. Rooms are clean n big with beautiful bathroom n alot of space. Loved the bed. You're doing great.

Was pleasantly surprised have never stayed there before but will definitely be staying there next time need to stay in Mackay. So easy to access as is on left side Nebo Road
