Prince Of Wales Hotel

Great location. An older building with noticeably older bathroom but nice sheets and it might have been because we had come off a hike but it felt very dry and comfortable. We stayed on a Friday night and the band downstairs was pretty audible until late but not unpleasant. the food downstairs was excellent. We had the trevalla which was a huge piece of very succulent fish.

The toilet was very tricky to flush and the water pressure wasn’t great. The temperature of the water in the shower was also very difficult to regulate. Also, the smoke detector fell off the ceiling in the middle of the night which startled us but it was fine.

Convenient & calm location. It was a 20 mnts walk to the city. Staff were very accommodative & very friendly. We loved the place

Would have preferred. a small microwave or an oven in the room or in a common area to heat the food we bring from out. The staff were more than helpful to heat in the kitchen, but we did not want them going out of their way and did not want to worry them all the time.

Location is excellent. Have been coming here for a long time (to the pub) and it was extremely quiet this trip. Facilities are fine and the rate is excellent. Bed was a bit soft for me. It is an old hotel and the facilities are old too but they were absolutely fine and it was clean. Would recommend.

The hotel was in a great location in Kelly St, just up from Salamanca, and, as I was travelling with family, it was great to have separate beds. The room had everything that you need. The pricing was very competitive and we would definitely stay again.

The blinds were broken so didn't block the light and the single bed wasn't comfortable.

Location was fabulous! A 5 or 6 minute walk to the Salamanca precinct. One of the stops of the Battery Point heritage walk. Staff very accommodating for inbound flight issues - thank you!

Room was small - OK for a single traveller. Probably could do with a bit of a refresh at some point. May I suggest that you move the smoking area away from rear doors?

the rooms are basic but comfortable and there is a bath! The pub is friendly with good meals well priced and the beer is terrific. They have live bands there every weekend do it’s a great place to hang out as well as being 5 minutes walk to Salamanca and across the road from a fabulous bakery. I’ve stayed here several times and will always return.

no fan in the bathroom but windows do open .

Central location but not for the infirm if they struggle with climbing Kelly Steps to Salamanca St . The Hotel was excellent in their amenities, bed comfy but not salubrious. The patisserie across the road the best for coffee and eats.

Friday night yokels playing up. I believe it was a buck's weekend. Ladies do not behave like that.

What do you want in a hotel? A clean room, a comfortable bed and adequate facilities. Add to that a brilliant location in the heart of Battery Point, surrounded by good eateries, only a short walk from Salamanca Market and right across the road from the best Cafe in Tasmania, Jackman & McRoss. Forget the slight datedness of the hotel. It had everything we needed.

Parking was a bit tight for our ute, but we always found a spot.

There was no breakfast at the hotel. little wonder with three breakfast sources within 25 m of the hotel and they were all very good. easy walk to Salamanca and Constitution dock. room was quiet and simple.

shower was a bit primitive with the tap so far from the shower head so adjusting was a trial. and full hot water with just the cold tap cracked open was a bit hard to monitor the temperature. but when it was set, shower was fine.

No aircon, we forgot to check to make sure room had 1 Stairs good flight of about 20 Stairs to get to room, no lift we didn't check this either A little dated tho, even had near new carpet
