Salamanca Suites

Needed to walk a huge hill to get to the reception area for this stay- which actually was a reception area for a totally different hotel. Better communication on this would be better. Room was simple. Two beds. Laundry in Bathroom which we appreciated. Location right on the harbor next to the university- still a walk to get to the restaurants. Limited parking. Parked on the street and took a chance not to get a parking ticket which we did not get. adequate. Next time probably not.

Locked door to the facility - note said up the hill to reception. Hills in 3 direction- not the best start. View out the window was of university not of the harbor.

Good location. Friendly staff. Close to activities. Nice old buildings with history. Lots of restaraunts, bars and pubs. Also a short walk from the CBD.

The walls were not a very good sound barrier. Most of the time you could hear people in the hallway so clearly, it was like they were standing in the doorway with the door open. And on our last night, the people in the room next door were having a party and it sounded like they were in our living room. The bed also has a large noticeable divide in the middle (to accommodate being able to split it into 2x singles) but was not comfortable when trying to sleep close to my partner.

Location is excellent. Room is large and very functional. bathroom is a good size with washing machine and dryer in

Not enough hooks in bathroom to hang towels, clothes, dressing gowns. Needed at least 4 more. Kitchen counter was a bit cramped. Need to add a small sharp knife to cutlery set. Not enough hangars for a weeks stay need at least 6-8 more than the 4 there. Pedestals next to bed are totally impracticable for putting your phone, ipad, glasses, cup of tea on. Remove the mini bar. No one uses them and they just take up needed space in the draws and fridge. Overall small things that could be easily fixed for me to give this room a 10/10

Very easy access to our door via lift or stairs Our apartment was excellent with plenty of room, the Washing machine and Dryer worked well. Little cartons of milk was delightful (not uht pods) and a hot chocolate sachet included with tea and coffee Just a short stroll to lots of Restaurants and the Ferry along the Wharf - very picturesque sandstone/rendered buildings Walking through the mall after dinner was very pleasant and on a Wednesday night it wasn't noisy or crowded As we left, the housekeeping person suggested we give our key to her instead of driving around to the main reception building that was up and around the corner, bonus !

Couldn't fault this accommodation or the area

Great location, good size bedrooms and bathrooms. Decent reading lights in bedrooms. Good shampoos, soaps etc. in bathrooms.

Only 2 chairs on the balcony for the 4 of us. Very spasely appointed kitchen - very few utensils, no dishwashing sponge, few pots, one not very good frying pan. Two large but not too good knives. For this price - nearly $500 a night, one would expect more than bare mimimum in the kitchen. Even if you want to just fry onions and tomatoes (what we did), you'd need a wooden spoon, and there was none.

conveniently located on Salamanca Place it was right beside Winter Feast, the Salamanca Market, and the wonderful art galleries, restaurants and shops.

we thought that the rooms would be cleaned daily but we came back one evening and the beds hadn’t been made although the toiletries had been replenished and the cups in the kitchen had been washed. maybe the cleaner was distracted and just forget to make the bed? just found that strange. Also, the sounds from the Winter Feast festival could be heard from our room until very late.

Have stayed here before and location is great and parking very good too. The studio is nice and beds are comfortable. Nice that there is a nespresso machine but would have been good to know this as would have bought supplies with me,

Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. I asked the housekeeper to replace the coffee pod and the body wash (which they had failed to replace the day before) and said we would be vacating in 45 mins. So 15 mins later a knock at the door with them wanting to clean. Get back to room that afternoon and no pods and no body wash. Small things but they do make a difference

roomy 2nd floor studio suite. huge bed and windows with small balcony overlooking Harbour. sparkling clean and well appointed with quality toiletries and fluffy towels. Shower had both waterfall and smaller shower heads. very pleasant staff serviced the room when needed. coffee pod machine provided. kitchenette small but adequate. great location right on Salamanca Place. easy walk to lots of cafes pubs and seafood places.

unfortunately the windows of our suite mostly looked onto a large grey shed belonging to Uni of Tasmania. so not much water or harbour to be seen. parking was limited and a couple of times we had use car park up the hill at Linna apartments where the reception was located.

Room size, decor and plush towels. Being so close to the centre of town, Salamanca and the wharf was wonderful. Staff helped with requests and queries. Check in and out was smooth and we really appreciated being able to leave our bags while we were away hiking.

The single beds were made badly... had to remake it! Noise from other patrons coming back to their rooms after midnight. Yelling because they didn't realise how drunk they were. The unfortunate position of our room on a windy night and external noise howling for hours.

Location was above and beyond - located in Salamnaca which made it very easy to wander down to the Markets and the shops. It's located on the on the Wharf so access to same was even easier. The studio room was very spacious and well equipped with microwave, fridge, washing machine and dryer. There are limited cooking facilities, but why cook when there are so many restaurants within a 3-minute walk. The bed was very comfortable.

There is nothing to complain about.
