Best Western St Catharines Hotel & Conference Centre

The location was really close to the QEW, which was handy for our trip with family to Niagara Falls, but not noisy, as is sometimes the case when that close to a major highway.

The breakfast was very basic. Not much choice. The bathroom setup was inconvenient. We've stayed at hotels before where the sink was outside the tub/toilet area, and that's not a problem. The problem was that there are no plugs provided at the sink, so you can not use an electric shaver, curling iron, hair straightener, etc, at the vanity. Also, there is no towel bar at the sink, where one would wash their hands, and if someone is in the bathroom, you don't have access to towels in there. I hung a hand towel from a coat hanger in the closet to remedy to problem.

The property was in a good location as it was close to different places we wanted to go. It was close to the highway but we did not hear it. The best thing about the property was the staff. They were SO friendly and kind. Right from the front desk people to the people who did laundry and cleaned rooms. Everyone greeted you with a smile and were happy to do anything to make our stay better. The kitchen staff were also excellent. Very few times have we had someone pick up our dishes at a hotel breakfast, but they did here! There was a great variety of food and the staff were quick to replenish anything that needed. I’m not sure how they have done it, but they have great, friendly people working here.

The property is older but included everything we needed for our stay.

The Guest Service Manager Tami is the gem of the hotel. To any question I had, she provided the perfect solution, and every interaction was just so enjoyable. She is super friendly and helpful, and made me and my friend feel very special and welcome at the hotel. The interactions with her made my stay a very memorable one.

The fridge and AC are relatively noisy, as were the guests below my room, but it didn't keep me from sleeping well, so I wouldn't complain about it. The breakfast is a bit on the scarce side, but good enough if you just need something to get you going.

The property was in the perfect location for our purposes. About 300 metres from the QEW and in amongst some great eating choices. The front desk staff were amazing! Our rooms were not quite ready when we arrived (we were early) but one of them came to search us out in the lobby area to tell us when they were available.

Without a doubt the smallest bathroom I have ever seen (including cruise bathrooms). It was functional but that was about it.

Our first night was not great. There were many hockey teams staying in the hotel and our room was located where most of the families were staying. The kids were running and yelling in the halls until 1:00 am. They checked out they next day and our remaining 4 nights were calm. I am glad we did not arrive any sooner. Next time i book( anywhere) I will inquire beforehand to see if any large groups will be staying and/or request our room be in a separate quiter area. The front desk did tell me( when we checked in ) that the teams would be leaving the next day, so I was somewhat prepared for the noise.

Everything was clean, the facility was very comfortable also. The pool , hot tub and sauna area was amazing. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. Very friendly lady at the front when I did my check in.

The housekeeper knocked on the door at 8:50 since ‘i was about to leave’. I was planning on getting breaking and enjoy the pool before my check out at 11. Felt it was a bit to early to wake up guesses.

Let me start by saying that this Best Western hotel has the kindest staff working from many hotels I’ve experienced during various trips. From front desk, breakfast servers, pool area and cleaning staff. Everyone is so polite, always welcoming you with a smile and a “good morning”. What an excellent way to make your stay more enjoyable!

The only thing that we had problem with during our stay was a vending machine. It did not dispose what we have selected, but I decided to ask the ladies at the lobby for the solution and trust me they have EXCEEDED my expectations.

simple but has attractions for the end of the day like indoor and outdoor pools and mini golf. basic and good breakfast. que bedroom accommodates 5 with comfort although the bathroom is too small.

my bedroom didn’t have windows able to be opened. it was faced to the indoor pool, very bright at night and stuffy. the ones with balconies are better

Firstly the staff. They were so helpful and friendly - each one we met or encountered. The facilities were fantastic and the room was perfect. Bed was incredibly comfy.

Room was a bit dark due to having no external window. Whilst it would have been nice to have more light, it definitely didn't impede or take away from anything.

Mattress was OK but but a bit soft. Blue box a nice touch. Fairly quiet.

Our TV didn't work. bathroom steamed up. Balcony door jammed. Busy breakfast area needed a second toaster and second waffle maker. We got the last available table. Main entrance sign could be bit bigger. Carpet ???
