NH Collection Berlin Mitte am Checkpoint Charlie

Room was clean and with an elegant high ceiling. Bathroom facilities were good. Minibar fridge was a good size. Reve supermarket just down the road. Also close to underground metro station.

TV didn't work properly. Door handle to room was extremely loose, looked like it could fall off. You get the feeling they are cutting corners on maintenance. Breakfast option was too expensive.

Central location, quite spacious room, with amenities. Modern decor, clean room and general spaces. You can walk around Berlin, near attracrions and cafes and metro station

The room was too hot. Tried to set the temperature but to no avail. Found this cool app where you scan a code and you can order technical assistance, among other amenities and food. We sent a message but got no responce. Later we went to the reception to report it and they said its a general problem and they would fix it NEXT WEEK ! We said we understand but requested a solution to the discomfort. They said they will set up a fan to our room. Never happened. When we asked again the frrontdesk employee said there is no problem with the airconditioning in general contrary to what previous colleague daid and offered to change rooms for us.

The hotel is in a very good location. 5 mins walking to checkpoint Charlie. 20 mins walking to Brandenburg Gate. The room was clean and comfortable. everything you may need was provided.

Only criticism of mine is we have two separate beds slided together. It was non comfortable situation for a couple.

Great location, lovely hotel and nice rooms (as always with NH Collection). Receptionist at checkout was lovely. Housekeeping staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast selection and serving staff were great

A few things could have been better. Shower draining slowly, conditioner running out and not replaced despite requesting, extra dental kit requested and not received, coffee pods not always replaced. Reception also accidentally noted that we wanted breakfast every day when we only ask to book it for one day. Rooms could do with some TLC as they are starting to get some scuffs and marks. Also housekeeping talking loudly in corridors at 8-9am when my partner was having a lie-in. Pillows too thin/flat and soft.

The location of the hotel is excellent and is within walking distance of many local attractions and has plenty of public transport stations close by. The hotel is beautifully presented and has a modern, classy and sophisticated ambiance. The staff were very polite and spoke fluent English. The room itself was clean, tidy, spacious and had a HUGE Queen sized bed, which was extremely comfortable. The hotel bar was affordable and a really nice extra touch to an already fantastic hotel.

The air conditioning in the room was okay and certainly kept the room cooler than outside. However, as someone who likes a cooler room, it’d be great if the power could have been increased just a bit. Two of the walls in the room had patches where the paint was coming off. Both are very small issues and didn’t impact the quality of our stay.

The Front Desk and Concierge staff were very friendly and helpful. The twin-bedded room with ensuite walk-in shower was a good size, had comfortable beds and was very clean. We were able to check-in earlier than expected and leave our luggage after checking out. Great central location right next to the metro with good local restaurants and cafes.

Only minor points: the online check-in would not 'guarantee' the reservation until both guests had checked in. However, it was not possible to check-in both guests to a room with twin beds using the hotel's online system. Some disturbance at night from other guests coming back in the early hours from enjoying the Berlin night-life.

Large suite, huge terrace, good breakfast buffet, excellent location, low cost electric bicycles for rent, good food at bar (restaurant only open for breakfast), Short walk or taxi ride to all central Berlin attractions.

air conditioning wouldn't stay on as it thought patio door was open, even when it was fully closed. Building is old but has been renovated and updated, except for dated, stained suspended metal ceilings. Freidrichstrasse neighborhood is not very lively anymore, quite quiet which could be good or bad.

Great location to all transport links and sights of historical nature. Hotel was busy but didn’t feel crowded a nice relaxed feeling about it. A beautiful evening of music in the hotel bar by a pianist. Staff very friendly and accommodating. If you don’t have your room cleaned, towels changed etc you get a free drink at the hotel bar for each person.

The sauna was great but the other two rooms weren’t switched on, which was a shame. The rooms were quite small I expected a little more luxury. Also it was my partners birthday and most 4 * hotels would leave a little bottle of wine, that was a little disappointing.

This was a great location for us to explore Berlin. The room was clean, well appointed and served us well. We didn’t take advantage of the gym and facilities but I was pleased to see that you can use the facilities at any of the group’s locations for the duration of your stay. As there are a few NH hotels in Berlin, that could be a nice bonus for some people on longer stays.

Sometimes Booking.com just doesn’t have the option or information on whether a room comes with breakfast or not. Whilst that isn’t the hotel’s fault, adding breakfast on was very expensive.

NH Collection Berlin Mitte am Checkpoint Charlie is located in city center of Berlin. The central location is convenient and perfect for the main purpose of our trip to do sightseeing, visit musuems, have great food and do some shopping. Friedrichstrasse and the Mall of Berlin are very close. Nearby you will find numerous restaurants, coffee bars and cafés as well. Main attractions like Checkpoint Charlie, Potsdamer Platz, the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag (do not forget to register online) are also on walking distance. Public transport connections are easy via U-bahn station Stadtmitte (U2+U6 line) just around the corner. With the discounted 9-euro nationwide travel pass (only valid till Aug 2022) this was a budget friendly option to explore the rest of the city. We stayed in a Superior room on street side on the 6th level (no traffic noise), which was spacious, clean with comfy beds and furnished in a modern contemporary style. The complimentary bottle of water, Nespresso machine and a working aircon (much needed with the heatwave) are other points to highlight regarding the room. Please note that any extra amenities can be requested via the NH app. Breakfast was complete and offers enough variety to start your day regardless of your diet. Late check-out is possible but NH charges 10 euro per hour for this, be aware of this. Online check-out service is fast and efficient. Lastly, we have to mention that each single staff member was really helpful and welcoming. This is the level of hospitality you expect in a 4-star hotel!
