Select Hotel Berlin Checkpoint Charlie

I spent there 6 nights. Everything was always clean! There was a breakfast variety and the breakfast itself was excellent! I recommend somebody to include it in their booking. There was a 24/7 reception and bar. The location couldn't be better!

I would like it to have a restaurant for dinner, apart from the breakfast. I would like it to have more facilities, e.g., spa, pool. Those are the only 2 reasons I put 9 instead of 10.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was spacious and clean. It had a wardrobe, a safe and a very comfortable desk where I could study and work on my laptop. The location is good, it is a few blocks from the underground, and although it is a few blocks you can walk to the main attractions of the city (for example, the Brandenburg Gate or the Museum Island). Also important is that the soundproofing was good; I could barely hear conversations in the rooms next door, only when the volume was quite loud. The wi-fi in my room worked fast and without interruption. The mattress wasn't super comfortable, but it was pretty good. I would definitely stay here again.

Something that may seem like a detail, but which seems relevant to me, is that the rooms did not have a kettle, with coffee, tea, milk, as is usual in other hotels. The bed instead of being a double bed, was two single beds joined together. This left a gap between the two beds which was sometimes a bit of a nuisance. On one occasion, a cleaning lady knocked on the door and then entered the room, even though the do not disturb sign was posted. It was only once, but I would have preferred it not to happen anyway.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and was a great place to stay as a solo traveler, especially given the security of the property. I would stay here again.

For the price I felt the property was a bit off the beaten path but at the same time it was nice to stay in a more residential area, as it was calm and quiet as opposed to the city centre.

Location, easy access to downtown.. Great for kids.

It doesn't have A/C, just small fans in the rooms. Strange, but really it is not needed it. The weather around the days we were guests at the hotel kept us cool enough.

Good nice room. Everything was very comfortable, especially the bed and pillows. The room is not big but enough for 2 people. The staff kept it very clean and even folded some clothes we left on the bed. The reception staff was very helpful, and even provided us with a water kettle when asked. Location is good - about 5 min walk from Checkpoint Charlie u-bahn (Kochstrasse). The area is quiet at night so don't expect a lot of restaurants and bars to stay open late.

Would be nice to have a fridge in the room, though you can leave things in the reception's fridge.

We stayed for 2 nights and from clean rooms to comfortable beds and location; hotel was beyond our expectations. It took only 15-20 mins to walk to city center or Museum isle but we also had diners and cafes near to our hotel too. Staff was helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious, simple but enough. I'll surely re-consider to stay in there if I go back to Berlin. Thank you!

Shampoo and shower gel and a towel was missing in my room on the first day. But they re-placed it on the second day.

Great location, close to the city center and metro, as a solo traveller I felt safe in the area. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed and balcony so you could have a cuppa tea in the morning/evening. Room service everyday, who brought clean towels. Reception staff very friendly would definitely recommend it and would visit again.

Very clean hotel room. Nice bathroom. Cleaning service everyday. We could check in before the official check in time. Stuff was also nice and helpful. There were no kettle for tea, coffee in the room but that is just a detail. Also they don´t have a body weight scale (if you need if to weight your suitcase it can be a problem:D) but this is also just a detail. Location very good- close to public transport, we walk eevryday to the centre- also close. Supermarket near by, museums near by, coffee places near by.

We had a Comfort Room which we can highly recommend. Location was great - in walking distance to famous Checkpoint Charlie. Otherwise we took taxis to get around and used the Hop-on Hop-off bus for sightseeing. Breakfast Buffet was exceptional - could add some Sekt for Mimosas on Sundays!

The lounge/bar was a part of the Hotel Lobby and could be separated a little better. Hot water heater in room but only tea bags - no coffee :-(

The location is fantastic if you’re going to explore the “must-see”s, classic tourist spots in Berlin. And it’s great value for money too. It was one of the cheapest accommodation options in the area when we booked it, and the quality of the facilities and the service for that price is absolutely perfect.

Parking in the area is a big problem. We had a rental car which we just had to park for one night until we were able to drop off the next morning. And it proved impossible to find a place to park. If you’ll have a car, you may reconsider.
