Seehotel Adler

I was very happy that I decided to stay for 2 nights at Seehotel Adler. The location of the hotel was perfect. Especially after the snow, it looked like fairy tale. Spa area is superb and clean. The morning breakfast was wholesome. I would certainly like to stay here in the future again. Unfortunately, I did not have time to try the restaurant. Not to forget, the view from the hotel roof-deck was simply breath taking.

My room was on the ground floor. I woke up couple of times in the night because I could hear people in the hotel lobby. I am assuming, some guests who arrived late (?) were trying to check-in.

Was a little unsure of this hotel, but it fitted our travel needs. However, the hotel and the surrounding facilities changed my view and overall rating. Our experience was helped by it being a glorious sunny day and being able to sit on the lakeside and have a few beers, along with quality food only helped. My friends took a stroll along the lakeside front, which was just at the front of the hotel, parking was marked for hotel guest and right in front of the hotel. Facilities were available, swimming pool (outdoors), sauna and fitting rooms, not that we used these, but were available if needed.

Nothing, had a very good stop over stay.

The general atmosphere was wonderful. The pool area really nice and the staff in the bar and at the front desk overwhelmingly friendly and attentive. Relatively new rooms and facilities. Roof top terrace really nice. If you’re there on a Monday you’ll get a free boat for an hour around the lake included in the tourist tax.

Parking facilities could be better, but staff friendly and supportive in finding alternatives for parking. Breakfast staff a bit over stressed, and some of them not really as service minded as all their other colleagues. Beds / mattresses in our room were really hard, while our daughters beds were more “normal”. The tourist tax should be more comprehensively described as it’s mandatory and part of the total costs.

Wonderful wellness area with four saunas and outdoor pool. The restaurant is worth a visit, same as the breakfast. Special thanks to the exceptionally friendly staff in hotel and restaurant. Nice surrounding directly at the lake and right next to the train station - easy to reach for any carbon-friendly traveller. Ludwigshafen itself is small, but also good starting point for visits e.g. to Überlingen, Reichenau or Konstanz.

Great Hotel, beautiful location, superb breakfast. Rooms very spacious and great view. Staff was very friendly and spa is nice with sauna and heated outdoor pool.

Rooms could be updated, and more comfortable beds would be nice.

Very quiet, relaxing and nice. Everyone seemed in total balance and everything was friendly, food was nice, the room was nice, the view from the balcony was great.

I cannot think of anything I did not like.

The location next to the lake.

We booked the room with lake view which was not a great view from the side. They are in construction which create the noise and bad view, the staff did not let us know about it when we checked in. The pool was next to the lake but no view to the lake which is a pity.

Reception staff were excellent. English spoken to make up for my woeful German. Breakfast was truly lovely. Beautiful location on the lake. Swimming pool a welcome bonus after a long day’s driving. Good choice of restaurants very close by.

Lack of AC but windows do open.

Would have liked a kettle in room with tea and coffee making facilities.
