Hotel Imperial

The reception staff were very welcoming and polite. The breakfast staff also did their job well, topping up the food and coffee regularly. There was always plenty to eat. The rooms are very dated but are clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom toilet and shower were bright and were also clean. I must admit our room was not cleaned for the 4 days we were stayed, but we were not in there very much. Ideally situated for all the Soul venues that we attended too and only 3 minutes' walk from St Pauli Ubahn station. We would stay here again most definitely.

Not really much to complain about. Trivial stuff, but you learn to get on with it.

Fantastic breakfast included in the cost of room. Lounge area with coffee facilities available. Very comfortable for the price, lift available. Metro 5 mins walk away. Lots of historic places within walking distance(St Michaels church), with metro, eg Rathaus town Hall square and Miniature Wonderland in wharf area. Lots of eating places close around, Aldi and McDonalds in 5 mins walk.

The location, too close to Reepersbahn for my taste. As I arrived by train, google advised to take the metro to Reepersbahn and walk from there. But it's totally possible to avoid this and take metro to St Pauli, which is much closer and less exposed to the Red light district.

Great variety for breakfast, well located close to an U-bahn station and in a lively area (St Pauli). Room very clean, good facilities. Found it overall a good value for money.

Breakfast staff were a bit not in their element when speaking English and they were quite nervous around the Covid rules (which I completely understand). They were asking (in German) if I scanned some QR at the entrance, etc (I was fully vaccinated) so there was a bit of misunderstanding and language gap. Otherwise, all good. Also, maybe it's just me, but I think that by default hotel staff should not enter room in the checkout morning if they don't get clear indications that checkout happened, even if "Do not disturb" sign is not shown. Had the feeling that my room was checked while I was out for a short walk. Not a big problem though.

Might not be the most modern place, but it more than makes up for it as being in a great location, top cleanliness, friendly staff and a decent breakfast.

Breakfast room was a little bit tight, and over-full at peak times. They try to deal with this by asking people to sign up to certain times to avoid a rush, but it didn't seem to work.

it was tidy, clean and had all what was necessary to enjoy a night or two in Hamburg. Bonus points for included breakfast.

The old school way of dealing with the key and leaving it at the reception - I personally prefer having it with me at all the times. It is also worth mentioning the area around the hotel is quite loud during evenings and nights (nightlife).

Everything was fine, close to transit and some restaurants. Breakfast was really good as well.

Modern hotels in Hamburg have USB charging. It is an older hotel so you can see why. The man at the desk offered me one but it didn't work. So don't be an idiot like me and remember your adaptor!

Location was very good to start exploring the city - especially St. Pauoi district and the harbour. A welcome exprience. Good move with letting us to have breakfast upstairs in the lobby. can be prectised more, with tea, coffee and juice bar arrenged upstairs and for longer. No problem with the car park - one public is nearby ad does the job. So, good location for a group stay.

Breakfast was pretty basic, but good. The staff was amazing. The rooms are really old but functional. Eventhough it´s really close to the main street of Reeperbahn, it was ok quiet.

The rooms should be updated. Very little options for vegans at the breakfast.

Breakfast was the best ever.

Would have liked to know where to park before we arrived. That wasted some time, particularly as the receptionist didn't even speak German as a native language, let alone English.
