Mercure Hotel Severinshof Koln City

The site had a luxurious feel for a fairly good price. We were provided with a free room upgrade so that definitely affects my feelings but I think I would have been happy with the original room as well. The on site bar, restaurant have predictably high prices but a nice atmosphere and the gym and sauna is a great inclusion. Good for a long stay!

The location is okay, about a 20 minute walk to the city centre which is fine but there aren’t many notable restaurants nearby and no attractions at all. The free wifi is nice but a bit choppy in my experience.

Really good hotel, nice rooms and excellent bathroom and shower! They have a cleaning policy that you can choose from have the cleaning or donate and amount for charity ou even take a free beverage instead, i like that but we really don't need cleaning every sing day of the stay, so really nice. The bar/restaurant have a really small menu, but it was good. One thing is service because when full they were just two people to serve several tables. Staff was ok but not kind or charismatic. Location was ok but you need transport or a long walk to city center. Despite that it's close to a station and easy to get transport.

Staff was not kind, they could provide maps ou tips about things to do in the city. When we cross the reception they immediately turned around and say no word with us. It was a strange experience with them.

The location was fine, walking distance of Cologne's main railway station and next to two U stops. Service was friendly and efficient. The room was a good size, clean and well lit. We particularly liked the provision of a fridge, and the option to request the room to be left uncleaned at our request, for either a voucher or donation by the hotel to a tree-planting scheme. The air con worked well, though we didn't use it, and I assume the heating would be similarly efficient.

We have no complaints about our stay.

The hotel has an excellent location, very central with a wide range of public transport on the doorstep. Rooms are clean and functional.

A USB socket would be a nice addition. The hairdryer in the bathroom is very dated - not sufficiently powerful and difficult to use for longer period of drying with the coiled electrical cord attached to the wall fixing.

Our room was a perfect size, modern, with a nice bathroom. It included a fridge which was excellent and no shortage of towels, toliet paper or space for bags and clothes. The reception was bright and clean and had a nice bar/restaurant. The staff were very friendly and had a room ready for us when we arrived early morning which is a bonus! I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay again.

The room was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. The bathroom had a great shower, a comfortable toilet, and included two glasses for drinking water or brushing our teeth. Extra utilities within the room were a safe, a water cooker including tea, instant coffee, and milk, a tv, a safe, and a small fridge.

The breakfast seemed to be rather expensive, whilst the hotel is located on a nice shopping street with plentiful locations for dinner and breakfast

Good quality hotel, friendly staff. Good size room and balcony. Big bed. Handy for the U-Bahn.

Minor things... No dairy free milk option for a coffee in the bar. It would have been helpful to be told when we checked in that we could use the sauna before 5pm , but that it takes an hour to heat up. I would have preferred a room facing south. so that the sun came onto the balcony. Shampoo, but no shower gel provided.

Location for the Xmas Markets Car parking underneath the hotel accessible directly to the Reception. Arrived early for check-in, but were able to go straight to our rooms.

Not all the lifts working, bad water leak in the lower parking level. Only disposable cups for teas and coffees, not enough to have drinks at night and the morning. The shower flooded the floor when used..

Very comfortable room, excellent buffet breakfast, hotel was in walking distance of centre of Cologne, very pleasant staff.

Not much not to like. Had to wait quite along time to check in as only a couple of positions manned and they seemed to be dealing with various complex queries - at the end of a long day getting here just wanted to get settled.

I came an hour early, full of heavy bags. I was afraid that I might need to leave them in reception instead of in a room but the staff member at the reception helped me and gave me an available room earlier than expected which was very nice and helpful of him! The room was clean and spacious, bed was soft and comfy and bathroom was clean.

Not much bad to say here.
