Royal Retreat Villa's Lembongan

I loved this place. It's a Bali dream. It's very affordable and the small staff really makes you feel cared about. I went there with my family of 9 on a vacation. We had an epic game of marco-polo in the stunning pool. We enjoyed the daily breakfast of omelets and banana pancakes. YUM! The huts are beautiful. I would totally stay there again. They offer scooter rental for $5 a day, which is totally worth it since you need the scooter to easily get around the island. (Get a $6 phone card with data, and swap out your pin so you have a very reliable GPS to take you around the island.) They had large bottles of water we could buy at a reasonable price, they offered to help get us cash (which we didn't realize we needed on this island) and they even arranged a nice swim-with-merlins tour that my (beach-averse) husband loved. All-and-all, this was a great experience, and we are SO happy we stayed here! This is not as "hipster-high-end" as other places on the island, but I love how it's more isolated away from the club feeling vibe near the beach. And you get anywhere on the island in 10 mins on the scooter, so not a big deal. It's peaceful and very pretty. They do a great job on the landscaping. Also, my sister got sick (before arriving) and the owner lady gave her fresh coconut and was genuine about her concern and keeping an eye on her. She even put my brother-in-law on her scooter and took him to get smoothies when he needed it. We love these people. I was already going to write these people a rave review .... and that was before I left my passport in my room on Lembongan (an island) and didn't realize it. (Yes, I am the weirdo who stashed a passport in a pillow because Rick Steves told me to 15 years ago.) The owners immediately responded to my What'sApp text, managed to get my passport on a speed boat and delivered it to me with a friend at Sanur the port.

My husband wishes they had more sealant on the doors. There is a 3/4 inch gap when the door is closed, and he was nervous about bugs. Not a big deal. Also they initially wanted to charge us 3% for using a cc. But I showed them on Booking.com website where that is not the policy anymore to allow that. So they didn't charge us 3%. (I wish I'd just prepaid ahead of time via Booking.com... it's a great place!) These issues are no big deal, and I'd stay there again with no hesitation. It's a gorgeous jungle experience.

It was A beautiful place! We really enjoyed our stay in every way! The trip organised by the host is the best you can book. He Makes the snorkel trip Very personal, an experience to remember for the rest of your Life! When you book A trip you can choose To do it exclusive alone with your partner our familie, or you can choose To share with Another couple. The houses are clean, the staff are all Very friendly and They arange everything you want for you. Also A Nice trip To nusa penida was organised. When you want the best Nusa lembongan experience you definitely have To book here for the best snorkel trips! The swimming pool is clean! We really enjoyed our stay!

Nothing, everything is perfect!

The staff were incredible! Attentive is an understatement. The room was lovely,clean and we loved the attention to detail like having robes for us too. The pool area is great, always a fresh towel waiting for you. Ketut is a fantastic host and his manta ray trip is second to none! We would definitely come back!

The waiting/breakfast area could do with a slight upgrade but otherwise wonderful!

Room is spacious, perfect for my family who travels with young kids. Garden well maintained, staff and owner is super friendly makes us fell welcomed. Pool clean and enough shades, and lastly with the current price, you got more, super good deal!!

We had a perfect stay for a full week! The owner but lso the staff were amazing. Dewi who made us breakfast every morning was the sweetest and most accomodating person. Also the male staff were great! The owner Ketut took us on a snorkling trip and within an hour we already saw Manta's, Dolphins and a turtle. Also a lot to do in the neighborhood. The island is easy to get around with a motorbike which you can rent effortless at the property for a fair price. They arranged the taxi from Ubud, boat and transportation on the island upon checking in and also our way back to Nusa Dua. Highly recommended!

The rooms could use some renovation. The shower in our first room was leaking so had a lack of water pressure and the doors were difficult to close. That aside, our stay was an absolute 10!

Wonderful bungalows, spotlessly clean , brilliant for a couple of days on the Island. Just to mention you will need a scooter to get around from here .

Ketut and Dewi were so amazing to stay with! They make you feel like a friend, which is a top priority for me as a solo traveler. Dewi is so efficient with breakfast and always smiling and friendly. I hired a scooter easily, went snorkeling and got my laundry done with no hassle. The location is great to walk to dream beach and plenty of food choices nearby. The staff were extremely respectful and polite, and kept my room clean each day. The beds are nice and comfy and the pool is great. Can’t recommend this place highly enough! Thank you for your hospitality Royal Retreat. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

Nothing at all

Really nice place, cool swimming pool (great temperature, amazing breakfast. Well maintained, great pricing for the scooters and they worked well. Amazing AC and confortable beds, shower water was at the perfect temperature. Overall everything was amazing ! Also the cool owner

Holes in the roof of the bathroom. We found a big spider running in the shower. Didn't feel good in that bathroom, always scared some beasts would get into it. We saw a snail on the roof. A girl said she had a rat in her roof and changed place. Also, there was a strange animal making a big sound at given times who woke us up several time during the night (my mother got waken up 3 times). Sound acoustic could be improved I guess but maybe that's part of the experience. (I personally slept very well)

We enjoyed 4 nights here for our honeymoon: Amazing service, everyone knew your name Scooter rental was reliable and cheap Location was perfect for us - in between lots of different cool spots, close to Mushroom Bay, Sunset Point, etc. It was in a quiet area that wasn't overly touristy but within walking and biking distance of many tourist attractions. Great restaurants within minutes walk. Rooms were as advertised and amazing Bed was super comfy and king size Robes! How luxurious - it's the small things. Very well maintained grounds - people always working to keep things looking clean and tidy Delicious breakfast with choice of lime or watermelon juice and omelettes, eggs, pancakes, tea/coffee - all freshly cooked after we sat down

The bathroom lighting was quite dark but overall the bathroom was super beautiful. The water in the shower was not very hot.

This place was almost like a fairytale. The bungalow was comfortable with everything you possibly need. It is being cleaned everyday + they're bringing fresh water to the room on a daily basis. Also, the staff uses anti-mosquito thick on every terrace in order to keep the mosquitos away. The pool is a good size with perfect depth for a children on one side (1/3) and perfect depth for swimming in the rest of the pool. Towels for the pool are available at the pool. It has a wonderful light making it perfect for swimming at night. The breakfast is delicious (choosing between different kind of eggs and banana panecakes + hot or cold drink). There are a lot of restaurants nearby + the staff will help you to order and arrange anything (food,, bike, scooter, taxi), and we also went snorkelling with the host Ketut. We rented one of their scooters while we're there, helped us let to know the island better +to reach anywhere on the island. The people over there - Ketut, Dawa and Putu have made our stay on Lembongan exceptional and they're the best what this place has, we will remember them as friends who introduced us to the Balinese and Lembongan's culture.

We don't have complaints, just a few suggestions for additional value - having brakfast menu on the tables would be great, it would be excellent if they could think of an idea how to reduce flies in the dining area when having a meal (but that's a common issue almost everywhere in Bali), cooling fan in the dining area would be a big plus!
