Hotel Los Girasoles

I can't point to any one special reason this place felt so comfortable to me, I guess it's just everything together. It's a really lovely little building and compound nestled in quiet little road. But just walk a few steps in any direction and you're in the middle of it all from lots of restaurants and marts to Avenida Tulum and Mercado 28. All the staff were always very friendly, reception staff speak English great and domestic staff were patient with my Spanish. You feel so well taken care of with the breakfast cafe combo with everything served almost immediately and with such style by the attendant - bottomless coffee, juice, daintly chopped assortment of fruit and the main meal up to you from chilaquiles to huevos rancheros (combo is 100mxn now). Always delicious too. This is also one of the few places left that clean everyday without you asking and do it at about the same time. Travelling about this past year has shown me that this is no longer the norm. And everywhere was always super clean. I honestly missed it for days after I left.

Sadly wifi was pretty bad and I would have been a lot more frustrated if I was working normally. Lots of mosquitos in the common areas too (including inside the building). Water pressure wasn't great and hot took a while to come on but I've been in a few hotels in this area at this point and seems you can't get away from bad wifi and water pressure.

Great location in a quiet part of downtown Cancun. Can walk to Mercado 28 & 23 and the main ADO bus station. Lots of places to eat nearby. Tours with vans can pick up at door, big busses won't fit. Super clean and friendly staff. It's an older building, facilities are dated but you can't beat the price. We stayed for a week. Catch #2 bus to go to the hotel zone, #6 takes you to the ferry terminal. We felt very safe here, even walking around late at night. (2 women)

Building is dated, shower has low pressure. Beds were a bit hard. We asked for additional pillows which they gladly provided.

This is a small, basic, and good hotel in Cancun's city centre. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and near the ADO coach station (5 min taxi or 15min walk). The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Good wifi connection. They offer a good and inexpensive "combo breakfast" in the morning. The hotel is 10 min walking from Mercado 28, with good local restaurants for sea food (El Cejas) and plenty of handicrafts shops.

There was not much pressure in the shower and one day they ran out of water. I had to go out without showering on that day.

A very nice small hotel in the very center of Cancun and, at the same time, in a very quiet street. If you know Cancun, you realize that the centric areas are really loud which is not the case for this hotel, however it's in 5-10 minute walk from Parque Las Palapas, 5-10-minute walk from the Ceviche, around 15 minute walk from ADO bus station. I enjoyed my stay at Los Girasoles and prolongued it twice because I found the place really good. The room and all the public areas were very clean. Room maids did their work really well. All what I had in the room worked as it should work: fan air conditionning, fridge, cold and hot water. The bed was comfortable, I didn't hear my neighbours or noise from outside or reception. They have a small resaurant open for breakfast only which is basically not included. I don't have breakfast, so I can't review the meal, but the restaurant itself looks nice. They have a small coffee machine there what I found super handy for me who needs an espresso in the morning. Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect value for money. You won't find better for this price.

probably the best reception teams I’ve ever met, genuinely kind and helpful, they definitely impacted our impression of the place very positively great location, all you need is really close by foot and if not, a bus stop is close and allows you to travel the city (meaning it is absolutely no issue getting to the entire Zona Hotelera from where Los Girasoles is located, though it is really far)

maybe the shower in our room wasn’t working quite properly, but it worked well enough for us not be too bothered by it

Excellent place to stay, confortable and for a afordable. The location is also very good as there are buses and taxis that could take you anywhere. R1 and R2 to the hotel zone by Chedrawi. There are banks like Santander just around the corner, a hospital a few blocks away, restaurants and a market just a few minutes walking. The room was spacious, with a ckitcheneta (you have to aske for the electric stove), standing shower and toilet always cleaned and the beds were good enough to sleep and even snore in. Everything was just great!

It was my second stay at Los Girasoles and I loved it exactly as much as a year ago. I already left the detailed review for my previous stay and basically have nothing to add, I am 100% satisfied with my choice and will definitely stay here again if I need a hotel in Cancun. Though the price raised a bit (well, to be frank, prices for nearly everything raised considerably since 2020), it is still the best value for money. You won't find better for this price. In a few words, the hotel is incredibly clean, it is the cleanest place I stayed in Mexico. Great stuff. Room service is very efficient and fast, all public areas are more than clean. I never heard my neighbors or loud noise from the street, it is a good place to sleep well. The bed and pillows are comfortable, no problem with cold and hot water, all works well including stable wi-fi connection which allows to work. A small restaurant that offers breakfasts. For me it is very well located, in a quiet street but within 5-10 minute walk from Parque Las Palapas, 5-10-minute walk from the Ceviche, around 15 minute walk from ADO bus station. The services at the reception desk and the housekeeping are the best. I didn't even expect they made the room as we just spent there two nights. The room is so clean and bright. I asked a receptionist to book a taxi a night before. And the driver showed up right on time. Amazing.

The location is not close enough to restaurants and the bus stop as I thought. Anyway, it is not that far.

This is one of the best options in Downtown Cancun for a great price. The rooms are basic, but clean and totally fine. The WiFi was good and perfect for doing some work on the laptop. There is a small restaurant for breakfast, which makes amazing traditional mexican breakfast for a reasonable price. Highly recommend the Chilaquiles and Molletes! Convenient location to many restaurants and busses.

It's a bit old fashioned and the doors are really loud when you close them, that you can hear your neighbor closing his door at night. Maybe at some point would be good to isolate the doors.

Breakfast was excellent. Price is now 100 pesos for coffee, fruits, and a main dish. Hotel is quiet and staff was very friendly and helpful. Short walk to Parque La Palapas and Mercado 28. 10 min walk to bus stop to catch the R1 bus to the hotel zone and beaches.

Shower was warm but the water was barely a trickle. Beds were comfortable but hard.
