Palácio de Sintra Boutique House

Our stay in Sintra was short, but the accommodation met our expectations, good breakfast and spacious room with a good outside veranda and a very large bathroom with bath and shower cabin. very good breakfast.

The parking indications given on the booking were unclear, in fact, parking a car in Sintra is very complicated, there are few car parks (and far away from the hotel, and the (very small) one at the hotel is in a very difficult position to reach (we struggled a lot to get to the car park with the car). In addition, the directions to find the facility are unclear (we had to make three complete turns around the city before we could figure out where it was). Sintra is very beautiful but too full of tourists and in most places to visit (museums, places of interest etc) animals are not allowed.

the garden and terrace areas were lovely; everything was really clean; loved the room decor and aesthetic

bed was not very comfortable; walls were thin (could hear some voices from the adjacent room); no breakfast on-site, which I find strange for a place that markets itself as a b&b; and no laundry on-site, even though it says there is on booking.com (this was very frustrating because I was counting on washing my clothes there)

The intimacy of the staff with us, it felt like we went on a breakfast to our parents or grandparents house.

Parking is quite difficult, given the location. They give you suggestions around the place with free parking, but it may be full. When you do find some, leave the car there, use public transportation to to around.

The location is great! The room was big and comfortable for a solo traveler. The staff were lovely and helpful. Would recommend for a short stay in sintra. It’s close to the major tourist attractions and restaurants, and bus station.

Lacked any amenities though. Could use a kettle and fridge in room. Wasn’t so convenient for a long stay and not the best value for money in that regards. The Wi-Fi was not working through out my whole stay-almost two weeks, and the network in the rooms during the day is terrible. That forced me to leave my room often to get some Wi-Fi, which wasn’t terrible since I’m in sintra, and it’s nice to be out, even if I’m working.

The location was perfect, in the road to most important turístico places, close to the bus station, food places, commerce

Maybe the two neighbors dogs who care a lot but they made a lot of noisy 🙄

The bed and the shower were amazing! We had a private outdoor area, there was a super cute view to Biester Palace and the Lawrence Hotel. The staff was super friendly and very loving with our dog, and they even have a pet rabbit. This became our favorite stay in Sintra. I should add that this is a comfortable stay for a tall people. The bed in our room was a 1.80m x 2m (king size), and the shower head was very high up.

The only stressor of our trip was on how to arrive to the hotel since we didn’t know that so many of Sintra’s streets were closed to non authorized vehicles from 7 am to 7 pm. So if you are arriving during this period of time, we suggest you get there on foot through the city center, or that you ask an uber to drop you off at the corner of R. Maria Eugénia Reis Ferreira Navarro with R. Consiglieri Pedroso. This is the easiest access and just a two minute walk to the hotel.

Location is very good, few minutes walk from the village center and the National Palace. Room and bathroom were very good, and so was the Air condition and the bed. Receptionist was helpful after we finish throwing our frustration from finding the hotel enterence and her

Very hard to fine. The email instructions say to go to the green gate in front of Lorene hotel, but the gate was close, and no bell to ring. It took us 30 minutes to find the hotel reception door, just to find out that there's no one to wait for us. We tried to make a phone call without luck. After 15 minutes more a lady came in and checked us in. No apologies! It is also very difficult to find a parking spot around, and if you miss a turn, going back will take you about 30 (!) minutes round time.

Palácio de Sintra Boutique House was just right for me. Authentic, quiet, spotless, centrally located and completely charming. I never heard another guest even though the hotel was full. My room, the D. Maria II, was an exceptionally large and pink corner room perched above the road with views that extended deep into the valley, one of those pure views that announce you're in Sintra. Due to drought, the lawn in the photos is dead and replacement trees have been planted. It still offers a large, private area to unwind. Maria and her small staff took impeccable care of breakfast, my room and the charming public areas. I felt like a house guest.

Beautiful property and the Booking.com photo does not do this historic and wonderfully restored building credit. Lovely historic house with nice grounds right in the centre of Sintra. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Extremely charming and lovely people work here and I felt like a friend rather than just a guest. The breakfast was gorgeous - so well presented and personalised. Just loved it. Very lovely wild but tame rabbit in the garden.

I think every hotel/guest house room should have tea and coffee making faculties and bottled water available. I like to have early morning coffee. Breakfast was served after eight so - I waited longer than I would have liked to be able to grab a cup!

This location is perfect and the staff were wonderful. They were very careful to make sure I had everything I needed and willingly answered questions and gave directions. I had breakfast each morning which was ample and delicious. A good assortment for anyone including vegans. And foods were varied each day. Coffee and tea were hot and delicious. It's a 5 minute walk to The National Palacio de Sintra, bus stops to the various sites, and numerous restaurants. I loved it here and as a 79 year old solo traveller always felt safe, secure and cared for. Also a big shout out to the ticket lady at The Palacio de Sintra. - she is exceptionally helpful!
