Dear Hotel Madrid

The hotel is in a great location.

The staff are not very helpful or pleasant. The cleaners had not left items for the bathroom, I phoned reception and asked for them but they didn't arrive. There were male staff in the foyer who seemed to be porters but never offered assistance with luggage. On check in the girl spoke so fast and seemed completely disinterested. On check out when we went to reception the staff didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay, was everything OK, just ignored us.

Great location at the end of Gran Via. Very clean and modern. Room was spacious as well for 2 people. There is a sky lounge at the roofdeck with a great view.

We had a situation during our last night when we lost one of our paperbags which contained the jamon and snacks we bought, as well as our portable weighing scale. It was impossible we took it out the room during that day as I clearly remember it. The staff was helpful enough to coordinate but I didn’t feel they had a lot of effort to compensate and just relayed what was mentioned by the housekeeping. Good thing it was only minimal and not major items! But it contained gifts for family and we had to buy again since we cannot retrieve them anymore.

Stayed for 3 nights in this perfect location. Hotel is in the middle of a main shopping strip however it’s not noisy at all! Easy to access the metro and walk to all attractions. The room was spacious and well equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, kettle, mini fridge and an excellent hairdryer! We didn't try the breakfast so I can't comment on that. Special thanks to Andrea for all her help and support!

The bin in the bathroom was very small and would be beneficial to have a larger bin!

The location is great. Furniture is new, very good air condition, clean rooms, kind stuff.

The internet connection was problematic I couldn’t use WhatsApp call I need to call the reception again and again they were polite and tried to help but the internet connection itself was on and off: in 2023 internet is a necessity rather than a luxury so this beautiful hotel should have a fast and problem free internet

Dear Hotel Madrid was the perfect stay. It is right on the major street, Gran Vía, and is right next to to the best shopping in the city on Gran Vía and walking distance to great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood Malasaña. The hotel itself has an amazing view from its rooftop bar and restaurant and the food at breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant was great. The hotel is right next to Plaza España and also walking distance to the Palacio Royal and Templo de Debod. You couldn’t pick a better location to stay in Madrid for proximity to see many things in a short weekend or trip. In addition to the location and facilities the staff was great. We landed at 6am on an overnight flight from the US and were really tired. Sandra at the front desk greeted us and helped us store our bags and coordinate an early check in and breakfast on the rooftop. She was welcoming and we are so thankful she was able to get us into our room earlier especially because I am 7 months pregnant. Thank you so much Sandra for a wonderful 10/10 experience!

We loved the location, how friendly the staff were and how unlike a traditional hostel it was. It really is a hotel experience! We loved the rooftop bar also!

I did go to Madrid to practise my Spanish, and as the staff are so friendly, they did begin by just assuming we only spoke English. Next time it would be great to be replied to in Spanish - especially when we did try to make a big effort to communicate in Spanish.

Location: The hotel is located at the end of the city's largest boulevard, Gran Via, on the corner of Plaza de Espana. There is a metro station right outside the hotel. All the attractions of the city center are very easy to reach on foot, but due to the metro station you can easily move to further destinations, such as the airport. Amenities: Rooms have view of Gran Via and Plaza de Espana. They are fully equipped and renovated. The bed was very large with a comfortable mattress. Despite the central location, the soundproofing is amazing and you can't hear the street traffic at all. The common use staircase is very comfortable and impressive with golden railings and on each landing there is a tap to put drinking water. There are 2 large lifts. Cleanliness: Both the rooms and the common use areas of the hotel were very clean. Every day they cleaned our room and threw away our garbage. Breakfast: Breakfast is served on the top floor of the hotel (14th floor), where the "Nice to meet you" bar/restaurant operates the rest of the day. The view is unique and there are tables both inside and on the terrace. Breakfast has many cold options (cold meats, cheeses, salads, fruits, sweets, etc.), but there is also a menu where you can also order other dishes (eg omelette, scrabbled eggs, sandwiches, pancakes, etc.). The breakfast team were amazing and very kind. Pool: The pool is located on the roof of the hotel, on the level above the "Nice to meet you" bar/restaurant. Access is via an external metal staircase from the 14th floor. The pool is small and has a depth of 1.20 meters, but a dip is an awesome experience to cool off with a view of all of Madrid attractions! There is also a bar on the roof where you can get a drink.

Great location, despite having a room facing the Main Street outside it was surprisingly quiet, amazing waterfall shower, breakfast was excellent a great selection. Rooftop views were lovely. Room was very clean and turned over each day very well.

Staff especially on the reception could be more friendly. Sink in bathroom is awkward shape getting water all over the place and the lightening in the all black bathroom was hard to see. Plug sockets on both sides of bed were not great and needed to charge phone certain way due to socket on wall not working properly.

Room had a good view of grand via street. The location was perfect as the metro was right outside and everything was within 20 minutes of the hotel. Breakfast included is worth it!!!! The food was fabulous. Reception were so helpful and even offered to hold my bags for the day after I checked out at 11am

Unfortunately when I went (February 2022) the rooftop bar was closed to renovations. It was disappointing as this was one of the reasons I booked with dear hotel Madrid. Room service made up for it and breakfast on the roof/terrance was incredible.

Great location, very central on Grand Via and right outside a Metro stop. Staff were so polite, helpful and professional. Breakfast was delicious, choice of a small cooked dish plus a buffet. Rooms were clean and modern, air con was good and completely silent! Rooftop bar/pool was good which we made use of (but see slight negative comments below). All in all we would definitely stay here again and recommend it for those that want a base to explore the wonderful city of Madrid. I would highly recommend upgrading your room a to a terrace. Although the terrace is small and the price to upgrade seems expensive (we were €30 per night for the Deluxe), the sun hits the terraces all evening and it overlooks Plaza de Espana so it’s great for people watching with a glass of wine or beer!

My only negative is the rooftop pool only opens at 12pm. I would’ve loved to head up for a morning dip just after breakfast. You can get up to the rooftop to sunbathe/relax with a book etc. any time but if you get too hot it would be great to go for a dip in the pool. Again the rooftop bar doesn’t open until 12:30pm but I can understand that staffing may be the issue for that. But I guess there aren’t many hotels in central Madrid with a rooftop pool so shouldn’t really complain!
