Hotel Madrid Plaza de España, Affiliated by Meliá

The central location and the breakfast were excellent, and the team was welcoming. The room was spotless, and overall, everything looked nice and tidy.

The location also has a downside, it was very loud (inside and out) You can hear everything. The cleaning worker in the hotel start early and are VERY LOUD. Room facilities are very basic, small bed and old furniture.

The room and beds were very comfy and had everything we needed. The location was very convenient to a relatively non-touristic area to the North, which was great for exploring! It was winter and we had a bit of problem with heating, but the staff helped up to turn it off, solving the problem. There was potential for noise, but we were around the corner from the busy street and with the window closed it was fine. Great access also to the number 001 bus, which is free!

Very difficult with the shower design to avoid getting water on bathroom floor.

A very good experience overall , the staff were very welcoming and the hotel is well equipped. The hotel is in the center of Madrid and is near a lot of accomodations on Gran Via street such as metro , restaurant , outlets and shop... The room is spacious and comfy , with everything needed there . The toilets were clean and good. The Breakfast Buffet offers a large choice of foods and is extremely tasty and delicious. I had a good stay in this hotel and would probably come back again.

The air conditionner were a little bit noisy special at night. The TV was locked on an "Hotel Mode" making it not possible to use any external device / streaming service.

This was my second time in this hotel. I stayed in 2022 July and now in 2023 July. The best thing about this hotel is its location and its staff. The location is literally the central point to everything. The metro is less 500m away, the big bus stand is 500m away and all the places you would intend to visit for sure is in walking distance. The staff of this hotel is very friendly and is always accommodating to all our requests. All in all it was a very pleasant and 5 on 5 stay.

Hotel is very near Plaza de Espana with lots of tourist sites nearby. Great selection of restaurants and bars. We were in an upgraded room which was huge. I’ve never slept in a bed that large! the room even had a elliptical machine for private use. The balcony was the length of the room and overlooked the Calle Gran Via. (room was 1011) and was told it was one of their nicest rooms. Bath was nicely appointed. We arrived after overnight flight from USA and they checked us in early and although the room was occupied, they stored our luggage and promised to have it ready for us by 1:00. We did some site seeing and returned for a much needed siesta. Every member of the staff was attentive and caring.

air conditioning was not very good…but that is Madrid.

Great location nearby Plaza de Espania and metro station. Very clean and comfortable room with nice balcony. I liked clean sheets and soft towels. Friendly stuff

The air conditioner was set for the winter season, that is the conditioner was out of the service. the kettle set will be nice. It was quite noisy at night : Main Street is downstairs.

Hotel Location - Its literally on Grand via and is walking distance to all the major sites like Grand Palace etc. Location is simply superb. The bus specially big bus tours are just outside the hotel. Staff, room, breakfast and others - Simply great. The staff from check in itself was supportive and understood what we needed. Gave us a great room with a dream view. Breakfast was fresh and choices were more than expected. Cleanliness and room service was great! All in all I can definitely say that this is a great hotel for its price. Must try!

To be very honest, everything was perfect and well managed.

Excellent breakfast with a great selection. We had a family room with a bunk bed.The room was large and nicely decorated. Friendly staff offering suggestions.

Family room had bunk beds which would have been fine for small kids but not conducive for older teens. Every time one moved the bunk beds creaked. Also, Madrid is the city that doesn’t sleep, and our room was facing the street which was noisy. Great location.

We stayed on 2 parts of our trip. We received an upgrade on the first part and got a wonderful suite that was very comfortable. The towel warmers in the bathroom were so nice. The breakfast buffet was great with offerings for every taste and dietary needs. We found a nice Argentinian restaurant next door that was fantastic. Definitely will tay again but request the suite, the second room was nice but a lot smaller and felt they charged us a bit more for the size.

rooms were spacious and well laid out , rooms, bed linen and towels were spotlessly clean, a small fridge with water provided . basic toiletries also provided. A good varied Breakfast was available if required. Reception staff were very courteous, helpful and friendly with good english.

The bathrooms are a little small with shower over the bath. Tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been nice.
