NH Madrid Atocha

Great breakfast, friendly helpful staff. The rooms were small but very comfortable with great air conditioning! The shower was wonderful. The room was very quiet even on the street side. Good location for access to the train station.

The location is not walking close to many restaurants or attractions but very easy to get to the trains.

One of the staff members (at least I’ve been told he was - a man in I’d say his 40s-50s with glasses and grey hair) made me feel uncomfortable with his inappropriate comments about my appearance and by pressuring me to disclose private information about myself. 2. The shampoo made my hair impossible to comb and I had to use my own.

Location is excellent if you need to be near Madrid Atocha station. For an early train this is the easiest option. It’s also near the Atocha stop of the hop on hop off bus, which is helpful as it’s a good 15 minute walk to Plaza Mayor let alone the palace. Also very close to the botanical gardens.

Room was small and bed just bigger than a single, but I did book for a single so I suggest this is what you get, but it was expensive!

We started our trip around Spain in Madrid. The hotel is within walking from aeroporto express bus (yellow). We travelled with another couple. We enjoyed the rooftop restaurant for drinks and dinner and the lobby for breakfast.

Website. I had a problem trying to make a reservation for the terrace. It was closed for a private party on our last night in Madrid. November 17TH. There was no popup message informing of this. Instead I kept trying with frustration.

It was easy to get to the hotel as it is walking distance from the Atocha station. The staff was very helpful and worked to resolve an issue we had with the tv by changing our room. The staff was also good at answering questions such as where to flag down a taxi, etc.

The rooms are nice, but a little on the small side.

This is being really picky for a first class hotel choice. Safe was inconvenient (my age and eyes didn't help), but as good as it could be in a small room. Slight nuisance getting key regularly reset, but all very easy and staff helpful.

My suitcase was stolen from the lobby. When the theft was reported to the police they demanded that we go to report it at their station rather than have them come to the scene of the crime and see the security video. Nonsense! A revictimization of the victims. We just let the matter drop as it was clear that the police were not interested in doing their job. Very sad state of affairs - who's working for whom?

Everything was excellent! The room was clean everyday, if you wanted it to be cleaned. Location was outstanding, close to many visiting sites, metro was just next to the hotel, and Atocha train station. Personnel were extremely friendly and helpful.

Perhaps, the price, but when you think it over, my safety was important. It met that expectation.

The room was a good size and reasonably quiet, although facing a major road. The breakfast was good - great choice. The hotel was very convenient for Atocha station, and hence the airport. As we were travelling by train, the location was brilliant.

There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom. The bed was a bit hard for our tastes, and there was an annoying flashing red light on the ceiling from the smoke alarm.

This hotel has an excellent location, just 50 m away from the central station of Madrid (Puerta de Atocha) – very convenient, if you arrive or leave by train. Nearby, you find can find many restaurants, cafés and small grocery stores. The hotel room was in a very good condition, very clean (which is very important to me) and well-equipped. The bed was big and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly and service oriented to make my stay as nice as possible. Wifi was free and the connection stable and fast. I would stay there again.
