Ivy Lane Colombo

Location is so central. All the official buildings, good restaurants and shoping malls are nearby. Guest house is quite organized with a small elevator, cafeteria and morning breakfast. Room was cozy and well ventilated, TV was working with good cable connection, wifi was good, room had everything except a mini freeze. However, bed and linens were little bit older yet comfortable . Guest services were good and they had kept everything into consideration at that price point i guess like restaurant service, good touch by keeping mid night snacks stalls near reception, cafeteria with 24 hr free water, tea and coffee where you just had to go there and help yourself. Well recommend !!!! Exceptional!!!!

The bed linen was very soft and comfortable...would have loved to buy a set. The room and bathroom were both very clean and well maintained. I like the decor of the bathroom in particular with the choice of tiles and colors. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

Not a dislike but the breakfast was just very basic though okay considering the affordable price of the hotel per night including breakfast. A mini fridge in the room would be a nice addition for guests staying a few days who may want to keep some food/drinks.

Excellent little hotel on Galle Road in central Colombo. Great location, easy to access key places. Spacious, clean room. Amazing, welcoming staff. Thanks to Nilanga on Front Desk and Roshan at breakfast. Everything was better than expected. Fantastic value for money. Would highly recommend for a budget stay. Will return when next in Colombo

Could hear guests on the same floor coming in at night and being quite loud. But that's a tiny criticism. Everything else was great.

Really liked the hotel. The location is convenient, the street itself is noisy but the soundproofing is excellent. The noise of the street did not bother us. The room was unexpectedly large. The staff is responsive, helpful. The room is clean. Many write that very modest breakfasts. It is really so. But quite enough to eat. Eggs in several kinds, sausages, bread, butter, jam, some fruit, tea, coffee, juice.

Staff was very nice.

The room was more tired looking than its pictures. There was no refrigerator in the room and that should be standard. The breakfast was awful - really nothing for a vegetarian. I ended up going to another hotel and paying for their breakfast buffet. Why is it, with all of the beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables sold on the side of the road in Sri Lanka, there was no fruit on the breakfast buffet?! Overall, very comfortable stay and a good value.

Superb value for money. The staff were very helpful. The facilities were great for what was paid. Good location next to some bakeries, as well as a supermarket. Felt very safe, there was lots of police nearby. Accessible fridge downstairs where you can buy some cold drinks for cheap. (180 Rupees/ 30p GBP roughly). Didn’t have any big issues during our stay, everything worked as expected or was fixed right away. Bathroom facilities were great.

This is nitpicking as the value for money was great. The top room had a mattress on the floor in an upstairs loft which wasn’t what I expected when it said 2 beds, however it was reasonably comfortable. The breakfast wasn’t my favourite, having an offering of fruit with an omelette and sausage, coffee and tea was self serve. That’s more down to preference. I also wasn’t 100% sure how to access this at first. There was some ants in the room. Although this was no nuisance and not unusual.

The location is quite good

The hotel Pictures are better than the reality, the hotel don’t have any special thing so the value of stay is quite expensive. The rooms doesn’t have any diference between standard and deluxe, I booked one of each and the rooms were exact the same thing, except for the balcony (deluxe) but completely useless because don’t even have a table or chair is only the little space outside, so you payed more for nothing.

Overall the place and location was excellent and the rooms were exceptionally clean and the staffs were very helpful and kind.

We experienced a problem with the electricity. The circuit breaker occasionally trips, and we have to turn it back on twice or three times throughout the night.

I liked everything about the place/location and as a whole about everything. Staff was great and the location was perfect for anyone who's traveling around there. And the place was clean and well maintained.

My only negative comments on this would be the breakfast they offer. Even though they say it as a continental breakfast. It was not. It's a mix of English breakfast and I don't know what. And it's not tasty or feels good quality.

The complementary continental breakfast was simple but adequate. Rooms were clean. The hotel is situated in a great location with major shopping centers and such within a short drive. The hotel also features an attached café which provides a few delectable traditional dishes for good price. The staff were fantastic and eager to help with whatever your needs are. All in all, a great location which is also quite easy on the wallet.

The menus could do with a bit of expansion. The food available, from the breakfast and the café although good quality, are rather limited in terms of options.
