Trillium Boutique City Hotel

Trillium is a beautiful hotel! Tastefully furnished, impeccable, kind staff and good service. Great location, walking distance to the Independence square and the lovely cinnamon gardens district. Very Baby-friendly too! Comfortable beds and very clean rooms. Awesome water pressure in the shower and hot water for the entire family. Tasty breakfast with both Sri Lankan and European breakfast options. Also: I lost my wallet at the rooftop pool and one of the employees found it and immediately brought it to our room :) honesty, kindness and great service all round!

The safe didn't work so as the electricity plug for charging mobile phones next to the bed. But these are truly just minor details! Returning customer - we're coming back to stay here in a month :)

Our stay at Trillium Boutique City Hotel was absolutely amazing! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, providing us with the best rest ever. The staff's warm and attentive service made us feel so welcome right from the start. They were always there to help with any questions or recommendations. The rooftop pool had the most breathtaking view of the Colombo skyline! Simply magical, especially during the evenings. The food and cocktails were delicious, with a wide variety of local and international options to choose from. We were impressed by the hotel's cleanliness and attention to hygiene, giving us complete peace of mind. And to top it off, the value for money was unbeatable, making our stay truly unforgettable. Can't wait to come back!

Cozy and friendly hotel. Loved the rooftop and their passion fruit juice. I liked that it was tucked away outside of the busy and chaotic city center. The staff were AMAZING and so friendly and helpful. They really made us feel at home and like family. They went out of their way to make it a good and memorable stay.

The street was a little sketchy, especially at nighttime, and I don’t recommend walking to the hotel after dark. The room were VERY noisy. You could hear loud bangs all the time throughout the day - and your neighbors sound like they’re in the room with you. You can hear everything. The room was nice but also a little run down. On the pictures they advertise great food, which they don’t have or serve. The pool is also quite a bit smaller than it appears on the photos.

Good hotel with big rooms in an excellent location. The bed was extraordinary with generous sized pillows which were soooo comfortable! Saff were friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff.

Unfortunately, the generator was not in working order when there was a power cut, so there was about a 5.5-hour wait. During this time, the situation could have been managed better, and staff could have provided better communication, water bottles, candles, etc. No contingency planning. In the mornings when staff undertake housekeeping. It is extremely loud. If you are hoping to sleep in, good luck, you won't be able to. Staff have no awareness of how loud they are, casually having personal conversations and slamming doors. For this reason, I would reconsider a second stint.

Fisrt of all i would like to mention the excellent service staffs from all the departments. They're true to their work and very helpful. Professional team players al around the hotel with a smile always ready to help with anything you may request. Mr Gerard from Food & Beverage management has been very thoughtful and very outgoing with all the guests. He prefers to have a chat with anyone who he sees when he's around. Mohamed from Housekeeping is doing an excellent job to keep the rooms clean and comfortable. Front of the house manager is always around to make sure you are getting what you prefer and ge shares good stories about the activities and services they provide. Waiters at the restaurant and bar are always very fast in attending to your needs. Overall this hotel is a Budget Luxury hotel with a view for you to enjoy. Roof top has a great view with a large pool for you to enjoy anytime you want. 35-40 minutes ride from the airport makes it even better as you don't have to travel for long.

Once you get in, everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations. The facilities, staff, breakfast, mocktails all of it exceeded our expectations. The location isn't the most ideal place in Colombo - however once you see pass that and get in to the property - it tries provide you with a 5 star experience. The rooms are very spacious and the furniture and fittings used in the rooms were luxurious. There is a small infinity pool at the top floor and it was very clean and had good views to the Colombo city. All the staff we meet were excellent. Kind and helpful. Breakfast again exceeded our expectations. With couple of live cooking stations and a few varieties of local and international breakfast items it was a very good breakfast without trying to be too fancy.

Only the location - but not much can be done about it. The price point is a bit on the high side for a single night. But then again considring that it was 4 people and included a nice breakfast.

This hotel is a great find! It is a tuk tuk ride away from Colombo green, and the Colombo face shopping centre. We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip around Sri Lanka (and they upgraded us and gave us a plate of sweets in our room as well as some fancy towel art and a discount card for the food/drinks). The hotel has some amazing 5 star features like the cleanliness, staff, restaurant, roof top bar. But some 4 star functionality for example our key card was abit of a game to play - we had to place into the card box a few times before it worked and (room 502), it would keep turning the power off after a few minutes and we would have to replace again , but then in the end it always did work after a few goes. Also our room was cleaned (cleaned well) but no towels were left so we had to ask for some more, and we used our coffee and it wasn’t replaced straight away - however very professionally sorted out quickly The evening meal we had and the drinks at the roof top bar were fantastic! our hot drinks and bar snacks during the day we spent on the roof (sadly having to work) were also great! We used the pool and that was very nice too! Breakfast buffet one day was amazing, breakfast to order the second day also seems 10/10. The staff have waited on us, from the younger guy (in the smart suit/bow tie ) who gave us our welcome drinks and works in breakfast, to Rekna at breakfast who kept order and ensured our food was delivered well. And to the receptionist who got our wi-fi working (we had to use the staff wi-fi as the other one didn’t reach the rooftop) Thanks for your hard work!

Im just picking some things because this hotel is so close to being perfect these are some suggestions i would make. As a said some thing just don’t quite meet the 5 star but the. again i wasn’t expecting everything for the price we paid, however easily fixed - for example in the restaurant toilet nowhere inside the toilet to dispose of tissues from drying hands, and my husband found some dead insects on the floor one day. The pool area was clean but would be good to reclean the pool with a net throughout the day and it was a slight bit green - but good enough to use! Starway was blocked with a mattress ( this would block fire escape so needs fixing)

Our room was great, linen and towels were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Buffet Breakfast was included and we thoroughly enjoyed the Sri Lankan and European offerings. Rekha and Ishara were lovely and looked after our every need! Reception staff, especially Tharushi and Christopher were very helpful and always had a smile to greet us with.

The restaurant consisted of a number of sofas and chairs with low tables, not ideal if you were eating. There is a rooftop restaurant near the pool but that seemed to be closed. For lunch we had garlic chilli prawns and Soy prawns which were delicious, however, the fish and chips we ordered for dinner were less that ideal. We mentioned it to the waiter who refunded one of the meals without question. Good customer service, bad cooking!

From the moment we went through the doors, we felt very welcome. We were quite early but they allowed us to leave our bags at reception while we went up to their restaurant for a delicious breakfast. All the staff were extremely helpful and pleased to see us. The room was great with kettle and fridge if needed. The room was modern and clean with a very comfortable bed. It was also very quiet, so we had a good night's sleep. They have a rooftop pool with great views of the city. There is also a rooftop restaurant with some good food with a bar. !00% recommend this place.
