The motel is in the centre of town with parking right outside your room. AC in room is excellent and super cold. Staff were super friendly and kind. Our room was basic, but clean and serviced everyday of our stay. Miniature toiletries were provided. Smart TV in room. Ample kitchen space with fridge and toaster if you wanted to prepare a small meal/snack in the room. The staff let us leave our luggage at the lobby next door before checking in and after checking out.

The 3 person room was a little small for 3 adults. Probably more suited to 2 adults and a child. Ironing board was useless/old.

Very short walk to the beach, restaurants, pubs etc. Wonderful location. I really like how this Motel is all lowset and you don’t have to deal with stairs. And you park right in front of your room. It is 100m walk from the street that the restaurants have tables on the road and the street is cut off, but these restaurants have no toilets for customers, so you have to go to the beach toilet, but not if you stay at the Hibiscus. You just nick home to go to the loo if you need to! Awesome! The Hibiscus is not a flash hotel, but it is everything you need when holidaying. It was perfect for me and my friend, we stayed 2 nights and wished we had longer time at Byron and this nice little Motel.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the Hibiscus. We had the Family Suite which is room 7 and it is right at the end, backing onto the one way street/lane behind. My only thing, and it isn’t a big deal, was the parking for room 7 has bins on one side and people walking through the gate on the other. I was a little bit worried about my car being in the way or getting scratched, but neither happened so it was all good.

Incredible location, 2 minute walk to the less populated section of the stunning beach and round the corner from the start of the main shops. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for 4 adults. Shower was great and hot water lasted through 4 showers. Receptionist was friendly, welcoming and helpful.

It would have been helpful if there had been an airer to dry wet towels and swimmers after the beach. There also was a large kitchenette but not even a stove top which made cooking anything from scratch impossible unless you were using the microwave.

Room was clean, bathroom was clean, linen and towels were clean. Property was close to everything we needed. Check in process was easy. Aircon was super cold. Beach was just around the corner.

Couldn't get dining room light or fan working and aircon was tricky to get working again after accidentally being turned off at the wall. Was very overpriced, but then all of Byron is very overpriced...

Excellent location to beach and town, exceptionally clean and beds were super comfortable. In the family 2 bedroom apt, there is a wall mounted A/C but not in the bedrooms. Only one pedestal fan supplied.

More amenities - cutlery (sharp knives, scissors), pedestal fan for both bedrooms would be ideal in summer.

Location is perfect and a short walk to the centre of town with the beach even closer. Large spacious rooms. Comfortable bed and clean room.

The exterior is very old and shabby- much better when you walk into the rooms. The shower in unit 10 has a narrow screen so the floor gets very wet which was both unsafe and frightening for my 87 year old mother. The 2 rooms we had are tiled and room 1 floor tiles are very shiny with the potential to be slippery. The bare minimum of crockery, cutlery and glassware was very ungenerous. Not a car space for every room. I mentioned a couple of other issues when I handed the keys back and the comments were well received.

Super friendly staff and great communication!! We had requested a slightly earlier check-in time and they accommodated it. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommended.

The only thing I would change is to have a check-in window at the actual Hibiscus Motel instead of Waves. But it's a minor issue.

Great location - short walk to beach and shops/cafes.

Please add a full door to the shower or at least a curtain - every time I used it the whole bathroom floor was soaked. The curtains didn’t provide full privacy when closed, I had to put the chair up against them and use a hair clip to keep them together in the middle (window looks out to the car park so always people coming and going). No full length mirror - not a necessity for all travellers but nice to have.

Amazing location! 5 minute walk to the nightclub (woodys surf shack) and right in the midst of it all! Stayed in the Bungalow room and it was very spacious and comfortable. The room has a really nice beachy vibe.

Cleaning could be improved, there was a lot of sand under the rug in the lounge room when we arrived. The bathroom also needs to be upgraded big time or at least given a really good scrub. There is no oven or stove. The car park is also super tight - we had trouble getting our big ute in and out.

location, size and cleanliness of room was prefect, 3 minute walk to the beach, in the town so close to everything. free parking, couldn't ask for more for what we paid.

would have liked a door mat to wipe the sand off the feet, as it came into the room a bit.
