Very friendly and helpful admin staff. Good location, close to major shopping malls, restaurants, and easy drive to CBD or beaches. The room was compact but well designed and very modern, fresh and clean. Great bed & comfortable pillows. All the usual basics for self-catering (fridge, microwave, kettle). Large shower with good water flow. Good aircon unit and various lighting options. I liked being able to park directly outside my room, but this is not possible for all rooms. If you prefer this option, you'll need to request it and call the staff.

The room was spotlessly clean on arrival.. but the housekeeping between days was very underwhelming. They made the bed and changed the towel, but that was it. No restocking of coffee/little milks (which were needed). No bins emptied (which were needed). I have stayed at their sister motel in Port Macquarie, where the housekeeping services were much better. Despite this. It is a great affordable place to stay.

It was easy to access, the motel is located conveniently off the highway. The room was renovated well - with ample power outlets for charging, Netflix on the TV, amenities for some light cooking for dinner. Was upgraded to a larger room (thank you!) which was very spacious and convenient (being able to park right outside the room). WiFi strength was very good. Met also one of the staff, Gershon(?), and he was really friendly and helpful.

Despite the name, located nowhere near the beach (so don't be fooled haha!). We arrived about 8pm, after check-out hours and had to call the emergency number to figure out our rooms and check-in situation - turns out the staff sent a message to me through booking.com but the portal lagged in pushing the message to me. I received it at 2am instead.

It’s newly renovated with modern kitchen in the rooms, great water pressure etc. all the walls visible from the car park are decorated with empowering affirmations which is 1 important and 2 just great to see that someone is thinking beyond about it the welfare of their clients happiness. The lady at the front desk - Marianne, miriane?- so sorry I didn’t catch the spelling of her name. but she was incredibly enthusiastic, kind and helpful with directing us around Newcastle as well as our further destinations. it was our honeymoon and she arranged the towels to look like a giant swan on our bed and lay out some treats for us which was adorable and somehow ticked the box on some of our favourites 😂 The new management of this place has definitely outshone its previous negative reputation and being only maximum 15 drive minutes from anything you could possibly want to see and do in Newcastle it’s a fantastic place to get a peaceful nights sleep and be greeted with warmth through your stay by staff.

After reviewing feedback on motels in NTL we found this little gem. Currently undergoing renovations, our room was recently completed. Neat, tidy and very comfortable. New furnishing. Room had small dining table, microwave, cutlery, kettle etc, also had a lovely large bright bathroom. All renovated. The hotel has easy access from the road with plenty of parking. Staff also super friendly. Around a 10-15 drive into downtown. Given its location we were a little concerned about any road noise however we did not have any noise at all during our stay. Highly recommend. Excellent value for money.

I loved this accomodation. It is newly rennovated and you can tell they're thought about convenience for the guests. For instance, in the kitchenette area there was a sink to was up in and get water for the kettle, you didn't have to use the bathroom sink. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the water in the shower hot with good pressure. We just wanted somewhere to stay for the night. This accommodation met our needs and was great value for money. In addition, in spite of the fact it is on the highway our room was very quiet. We did not hear any outside noise or noise from other guests at all.

These aren't dislikes, they're just observations. There were no reading lamps over the bed. To turn the lights over the bed off you had to get out of bed and walk across the room. Also, no face washers were supplied. Towels, hand towel, and bathmat were all present. as well as toiletries. Would have liked a couple of extra pillows also. These are minor things and did not ruin our stay.

The room was a little sterile ,could use a few more soft furnishings and a more homely feel . Your manager was very nice but I was shocked frankly that ,during a chat we had ,she did not believe that climate change was a real problem when all the science days so and parts of the world are really suffering from the impacts of climate change ..I found her comments a little offensive actually.The bathroom had some information about "saving our precious planet ' and yet your manager doesn't believe in climate change.i think she needs to seek education .

Amazing call on the day to confirm our check in time and direct access to our room, suggestions for nearby food and entertainment. Also providing no fuss checkout, invoice left in room so just a key box drop on the way out. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and clean, with an added snuggle blanket. Also a very clean kitchenette with glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, cutlery, good mini fridge with microwave. Sink and cleaning supplies. Room including table and storage all spotless. Handy PowerPoint and shelf next to bed. The bathroom is brand new also and has a nice hot shower. Aircon warmed a chilly night up within an hour to be toasty warm without directly blowing on you. Direct parking out the front of the room.

Our stay at this hotel was very good. The owner right from the arrival made sure we were welcomed with an arrival drink and gave us recommendations of food nearby and mosque. He also gave us an upgrade for our room as we booked a different room for the second night. The room was really clean with most facilities including hair dryer, cutlery, iron, toaster and a very nice kitchenette. There is also plenty of parking space in the hotel. The owner was always available after hours for any questions we had and had a pleasant attitude towards everything. We would definitely come back. Thank you Jersen.

Perhaps the curtains/blinds could have been covering all the front window of the room. But its a very minor thing and definitely not a big deal.

We stayed 2 nights and our daughter arrived a day after our arrival. We were greeted warmly at recption. Our accommodation was nice and clean. Nice kitchenette with fridge. Nice bathroom, no window. Lighting was fine, good air conditioner. Table 2 chairs, little bench to sit at or place luggage. Mirrored wardrobe...ironing board We had what we needed to be comfortable. All was fairly new, properties renovated. I like clean properties, and it was. We left ice creams in fridge for staff as it was very hot during our stay.

Curtains did not keep light out, as I read reviews before booking, I took some pegs to sort that issue out... and was told blinds are on order for the rooms, so this is great for other travellers. No window in bath room, so air freshner would be great addition. The fluffy grey blanket on top of bed was far too hot during our stay, cotton would be far cooler for very hot weather for travellers. Thank you.

Marion, at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful in providing information about local services, including places to eat and a laundromat. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything I needed for my stay (a toaster and hairdryer are provided on request). I found the bed particularly comfortable. I was pleased there was free on-site parking. The purpose of my stay was to visit a family member at John Hunter Hospital, and Surf Beach Motel was quite convenient.
