Everything. The location, the wildlife, the beautiful cabin, the welcoming touches that awaited us when we arrived inside our cabin, the peaceful setting.

Just to clarify I don't recall specifying a parking request at no additional cost when I booked this property. We have been away since the 25th of October, and I have booked several accommodations for the various locations. This property was a nature lover's paradise; however, we did not realise that a car was essential for getting to and from the property. This caused us a considerable amount of stress and precious time as we first got a taxi to the cabin, had to drop our suitcases and then go back to the town, as there was no reception for taxi guy to charge cab fare, we did not have cash on us (we were then charged a double fare for the pleasure) then more time delays in hiring a car due to poor reception etc. The owners outlined the bus transportation option contained in information booklet in the cabin which is not viable really as this is still a considerable walk of several kms, and buses did not appear to be frequent. Had we known this in advance I would have organised car hire, all valuable learning curves. The location is wonderful, but you definitely need a car. Unless I slipped up here in original information provided, but folks arrange car hire in advance if you can. If not, my suggestion is to walk up to town upon arrival to Airlie Beach and then pick up your car. Taxis were a bit slow also in collecting from the ferry terminal. Finally, whilst the internet reception is fine, phone coverage does not work which is weird, however there are instructions in the booklet should you need to liaise with the property owners.

The messing about with transportation as outlined above. Annoying little midges that seemed to derive great delight in savouring on my blood! The backs of my legs were the main course for these insects, insect repellent was provided but might be a good idea to bring your own and lash it on prior to arrival at accommodation particularly if you are the type who attracts these nasties as they will have their knives and forks ready for you ;) Another observation I have made is these mini-ironing board things which are not ideal. Have seen them in another property and I personally find them awkward to use.

Loved the cabin, the nature, how cosy it was and how welcoming the staff were It was perfect and I saw a wallaby at the end :) Will tell my friends to come and stay here

There is no reception to make a call therefore had to walk away from cabin to find reception but the property had very good WiFi so there was good Internet access. There are no taxis so was hard to find transport to get into town. But will advise people to hire a car in the future. However there was a local bus which was helpful.

We had a very good time and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Angie and the staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. We loved our fire-pit outside our cabin and there was plenty of wood to enjoy it every night. The marshmallows and chocolates were greatly appreciated and our cleaner was a genuine gem. Thanks Lisa for your service and smiles. For a great and relaxing time, this is the perfect place!!

The bathroom should have a small cabinet or a shelf, so toiletries don’t need to be on the floor.

Impeccable accomodation- exactly what we needed in a getaway- the location was so quiet and isolated- my hubby and I felt like we were miles away but close enough to get into the heart of Airlie. The cabin was clean, beds were extremely comfy. Linen, beautiful!! Really lovely personal touch with the complimentary champers & choccies - it was definitely welcomed by us after a 14hr day on our arrival! Thank you so much we will be back. We loved sitting and watching the animals collect the food in the afternoon.

Honestly one of the best stays we have ever had at accommodation. You will want for nothing I promise you that. Even down to the insect repellent supplied. No extra costs for anything and everything in the fridge is included. The beds were great, cabin lay out was perfect and the outside camp fire was such a great way to relax and have a drink in the evening. Lots of wildlife and cosy and private. Cant recommend enough and will definitely be back if we're over again from NZ. Thanks team from Rodney and Jennifer

Nothing to not like and everything to like

Loved the serenity and spacious 2 bedroom accom, being able to stick around for feeding of the local wildlife. Location was perfect if you have a car, but easy access to the Northerlies for dinner if you don't. Also loved the fact there was a fire pit

My phone didn't have wifi calling capability, so I had to walk down the street to call a taxi but not a big deal. Tip for others - install the taxi app before you travel because you won't be able to get the verification code once you are there! The wifi was great.

This is probably the best place I have ever stayed, and my only regret is not being able to stay longer. The cabin was perfectly equipped, and the added bonus of your very own wildlife park viewed from a bench was life affirming....our new friends, the gree tree frog, the crazy turkeys and the raucus kookaburras all made this a perfect experience. The sparkly wine was a generous gift too.

The property was beautiful, its picturesque bush setting was only bolstered by the birds that would congregate outside the cabin, the fire pit and outdoor seating area made for a very relaxing time.

The instructions on how the oven worked were not clear and it took some time to figure it out the bed had a dip in the middle which unfortunately ment that it was not an uncomfortable night's sleep.

The cabins were immaculately clean and well equipped to be independent. The kitchen had all the supplies needed to cook any type of meal. There was a washer and dryer on the grounds in a separate building. The bathroom was spacious with a classy shower stall. The bed looked out upon the forest with a floor to ceiling window where the birds wandered around in front of the cabin. At night you could hear so many animals coming to life as well - fruit bats, frogs, cicadas .... This place was alive with life! There was also a great belly up counter on the deck outside the front door which allowed for great viewing of the cockatoos while enjoying a beer after a long hot day. This is not a location for the budget traveler but it offered so many things that I found it excellent value. I would highly recommend these cabins for those who love the serenity of nature.

A plug in for cell phone charging on a bedside light or in the electrical outlets would be a nice touch. A foot bar under the deck counter would also have be convenient. But overall the Eco Cabins were absolutely fantastic.
