This place is at a great location in a cute little town. It was clean with comfy beds. Was able to park car right outside the front door which was convenient.

The wifi signal was bad but that could just be due to the location.

The rooms are a little dated but are spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious with fridge toaster and are where you can prepare your own breakfast. The location is very convenient. You can easily walk into town and the river is a stone's throw away. At the time, the rooms were not having a daily service but you could always get clean towels and other supplies. The owners are very obliging. I contacted them outside business hours and they were responsive and able to attend to my enquiry immediately. They also gave us a late check out. This motel is not the ritz but represents exceptional value for money.

The temperature of the water in the shower. Didn't get really hot water. Just warm enough. As with most motels, it can be a bit noisy around 7-9 am as people start their car engines to depart.

Pet friendly, rooms all surround an open courtyard with a sliding door so very easy to take our dogs outside as they needed to. Comfy bed and couch, good sized little fridge/freezer which was great as dog food needed to be refrigerated. In a really great location, walking into town in the morning along the river was so lovely. Split system heater and heated blankets kept us nice and warm. Room was really clean. Decor/furnishings were a little outdated but overall really great for the price and for being pet friendly!

The High Country did an excellent job as the town of Bright on our arrival was completely out of power. The staff were more than happy to help with anything and made you aware that the power would be back by 5:30pm - which it was. We totally appreciated that our beloved Frenchie was able to come and stay with us, which we found very pet friendly. Great bbq and again staff more than happy to assist with anything we may have needed.

The vendor machine was turned back on after power came back on and after 9pm - all shops in Bright were closed

Loved the serenity of being just out of town. The large open space out the back of each room and the pool. Perfect for kids, having a barbecue and dog friendly.

The noisy fridge motor in the bathroom made a loud screeching sound all night. Would have been nice to have some complimentary biscuits with the tea and coffee supplies, like other 3-star motels. Disappointed that the advertised motel restaurant (on booking.com) is closed due to staffing shortages, (I was told on arrival), so no opportunity for breakfast or dinner on the premises, which is important when you are not in the heart of town. (This should be mentioned when making a booking on the booking sites, as it is false advertising).

We had to checkin early as we rented ski gears in bright so needed to drop our luggage somewhere to create space in our Car. We had amazing guy I believe it was manager who helped us check in early and drop our stuff. Receptionist called as well to follow up if I had checked in as I left voice main requesting early check in . Room were clean, we had all essential in room such as water boiler, coffee, cups and hair dryer. Views from room were amazing. It was more than expected for price we paid. Thank you to all amazing staff for such a great hospitality. Will definitely stay high country motor inn bright on our next visit to bright.

Older style accommodation but impeccably clean and very spacious. Air conditioning is quiet and effective, The design of the units facing out to a grass courtyard with the pool and BBQ area is fantastic. Also plenty of room to keep your bikes outside the room. Not too far to walk into town and nicely positioned on the Canyon Walk along the Ovens River. 2nd time here and will be booking again for next year!! Fantastic value too.

The lighting in the room could be improved and sone additional cutlery in the kitchenette would not go astray.

Loved staying at the High Country Motor Inn! All rooms look over a central courtyard which encouraged comraderie between guests, especially at wine o'clock. And being able to have my dog with me was a massive bonus. The dogs also mixed in the courtyard which added to the enjoyment. I'll definitely be back.

Not much room to store or prepare food and no microwave. Rooms are quite dark and beds very firm.

We had a great stay and can recommend the High Country Motor Inn. the staff are all very accommodating and could easily lend us a microwave.

If mentioning any negatives it would be the insulation because we had to keep the reverse cycle running throughout the night so the room doesn't get too cold and it kind of made my eyes a bit dry. That's the only negative. I'm sure in summer it's fine 😊

Lighting in living room dull, no phone in room The exterior was lacking in presentation,the grounds need a lot of work to bring up to standard,old self serve snack machine needs to be removed from portico.old bamboo screens need replacing. Broken seat in play area dangerous needs removing urgently
