We enjoyed a two night stay at the Avon Terrace Guest House and it was absolutely fabulous. The hosts Paula and Stephen were so welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was very comfortable and beautifully furnished with high quality bed linen and super fluffy towels. It has an excellent location in the very heart of York. We had two fantastic breakfasts each morning - the porridge with caramelised banana was a real treat followed by bacon and eggs. It really set us up for the day. The property has so much history and we loved hearing all about it's very colourful past. And if all this wasn't enough it has a great spa bath on the balcony! We highly recommend the guest house and would like to thank Paula and Stephen for such an wonderful stay.

Right from the phone call telling us our room was ready up to the moment we left, hosts Paula & Stefan were amazing. Gorgeous guest house, our room was immaculate & comfortable, we enjoyed brilliant hospitality & a delicious home cooked breakfast. We enjoyed the spa upstairs on the balcony, overlooking the treetops & spire of nearby church with the pond & gardens below. Can't recommend this place enough. Charming guest house & like the rest of York, has an interesting past. Right in the heart of town & a stones throw from pubs & local sites, short walk to Residency Museum, everything right there. Fantastic!!

It was a one-of-a-kind experience staying at this beautiful BnB at the courtesy of our wonderful hosts, Paula and Stephen. They made our stay unforgettable through how stellar they’ve been maintaining this historical facility and providing above and beyond service. The room was absolutely stylish and comfortable while still maintaining its olden day charm. We also had tasty homemade breakfast by Paula and Stephen themselves before they sat down for a nice chat with us. It was overall the most authentic accommodation experience I’ve ever had anywhere in WA.

Property and room were beautiful and clean. Bonus outdoor spa which we didn’t know about but was an excellent addition, free music from the pub next door and great star views from the balcony. Nice breakfast, we were paired on a table with the other couple staying so got to chat with them. Food was good and filling.

Fridge was outside the room, more a minor inconvenience than a problem. Bed was not the most comfortable in the world but OK for one night.

The stay was perfection. Stephen and Paula were the perfect hosts and nothing was a problem. The accommodation is very spacious, comfortable and interesting. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the garden with the spa available nearby was very relaxing. Stephen, on hearing it was my birthday, was very kind and made us a cocktail to celebrate. The breakfast in the morning was 1st class. We'll certainly be back to enjoy their hospitality again.

Location in the centre of town and so close to all amenities. Plus really new bathroom, smart TVs, Wi-Fi and a gorgeous diner which is private and only for guests. Beautiful views from the balcony. Very quiet and block out elegant blinds. Sitting room was lovely and I didn’t even sit in there because we had our own private balcony with great views. So many different areas to sit.

Most beautifuly maintained property. Historical building with modern bathrooms. White fluffy towels, comfortable bed. We had the use of a spa. Breakfast was great. The hosts provided homemade jam and syrups to have with our breakfast. Would definitely recommend this property. Must visit the sock factory and many more attractions in York and surrounds. That we could not stay longer!

Warm greetings from both hosts, Avon Terrace guest house exceeded my expectations, you wouldn't wish for any thing more. Lovely calm atmosphere to the place and surroundings, including the garden and balcony. Extra special touch with a cooked breakfast to your liking. Ideally situated in the main Street close to all that York has to offer. Lovely to meet you both Paula and Stephen. My recommendation to anyone travelling, treat yourself to a special experience and stay a night or two at Avon Terrace guest house.

That my time wasn't longer

The property was beautifully presented, in a very quiet spot even though it is on the main road. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. As hosts Stephen and Paula were incredible. From our welcome, to breakfast in the morning. Our whole stay was so special and we can’t wait to visit again soon.
