I was staying one night in York for work. I chose to stay at a B&B for the ease of having breakfast. The York's Lookout Lodge Bed and Breakfast was excellent. My room was very comfortable and quiet. I had my own bathroom and also had my own, cosy, sitting area. The owners even provided a complimentary port to end the day. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very friendly. I'd happily recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet stay in York.
It was a little bit further from the town centre that I would have liked. If I had checked Google Maps I would have realised this. It wasn't a problem. But, I was hoping to be able to walk to the town centre.

What a find! Nestled in the back streets of York, it was quiet all night, perfect for a good night's sleep. The room was a very interesting delight, full of the owner's memories and collections. Snacks, fruit, drinks etc, all supplied. Breakfast was all we wanted, and more. Our hosts, Jeanette and Paul are just the most informative (and informed), accommodating and friendliest people. If we had not to be elsewhere the following day it would have been a great place to spend a few days while visiting a very historic town. It's not just a place to stay, it's a bit of adventure, would thoroughly recommend.
Couldn't fault it.

We had an absolutely delightful stay with Jeanette and Paul. From the moment we arrived, their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The room exceeded our expectations; it's much more spacious than the pictures convey, and of course very clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous assortment of snacks and fruits they provided, making our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight, with a variety of options that left us feeling truly satisfied. Also worth mentioning the TV has built-in Roku/Netflix/Youtube etc. The house is also very close to the best lookout in York (as listed). Jeanette and Paul's house is a treasure trove of collectibles, each piece with its own unique story. Exploring their home was like stepping into a mini-museum, and Jeanette was more than happy to share the fascinating tales behind each item. What sets this experience apart is the personal touch. Jeanette loves to share stories from her life, creating a genuine connection that made our stay feel more like visiting friends. We highly recommend Jeanette and Paul's place for anyone seeking a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with thoughtful touches and a dose of storytelling magic. We can't wait to return!

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming especially as my partner was sick and not able to go so I was on my own. The room was delightful, very homely, Jeanette had everything I needed and more, I had my own entrance which was really good as I was in York for a function and was worried about disturbing quests and hosts late at night. The breakfast was great, they also had a lovely outdoor area which was under cover. t was the best B&B I have stayed in and I will be back.

This little gem was fantastic, the hosts Jeanette and Paul are very welcoming and have thought of all the little extras to make the stay fantastic. Down to the chocolates and snacks in the room, the fridge with water, soft drink and alcohol in it to eat and drink for free. The bathroom has everything if you forget your toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and the room and surroundings are lovely. The cooked breakfast was superb as well. Would have loved to have stayed longer but we were on a tight schedule to get to next location on our trip.
It was all great.

Absolutely fabulous. The hosts were lovely people and made us feel welcome. The property was spotless with everything you could possibly want. Room beautiful and very comfortable. The property was easy to find with easy parking. Beautifully presented continental breakfast with the option of poached eggs if wanted. Excellent WiFi, very fast connection. York is a lovely historic town and has plenty of good dining options in the centre.
Nothing to dislike. Everything perfect. We wished we had stayed another night!

We stayed here for 1 night whilst on a WA touring holiday. On arrival we were greeted by our lovely hosts Jeanette and Paul, who made us feel welcome with a friendly chat. Our lovely room had all a person could ever want and more. Various teas, coffees, treats, cold drinks, toiletries, etc even a decanter of port for a nightcap. The TV also had free Netflix for guests. That night we cooked out on the bbq in the great undercover garden/bbq/dining/games area. The bed was comfy for a restful sleep. Location was nice and quiet too. The next morning we enjoyed a hot shower before a lovely breakfast supplied in the main house with plenty of tasty choices. We again enjoyed a friendly chat with our hosts and admired some of their lovely antique collections on display. We would happily stay here again and recommend to others.
Nothing bad to report

The accommodation had good space both within the unit and outside where Jeanette and Paul had provided seating and table tennis under cover and protected by fly screens. Our hosts were overwhelmingly generous with food, toiletries and snacks. The bed was comfortable and there was good WiFi. We felt happy to come and go as we pleased. The B&B is located on the edge of York so it is peaceful but quite a distance to walk into town and to restaurants.
Sometimes less is more. We struggled to find space to put our travel possessions amongst all the knick knacks on display. Every surface was already occupied. Generally we were comfortable but we felt a little squeezed in amongst all the possessions already at home within the bedroom and ensuite. Attractions in York are basically open from midday on Friday for weekenders visiting from Perth. We were there on a Thursday so we were limited in what we could see of York, it's arts, crafts and history.

Excellent choice of fresh fruit and cereals. as well as a cooked breakfast, eggs to your liking. Beautiful antiques litter this property and you don't feel like you can't touch anything. Way too many chocolates to choose from in the bar fridge, chocaholics would love this place. Half hour walk into the town centre at 6 am lots of stars out to look at, only a few dog walkers up at this hour, amply street lighting.

My husband and I loved the fact that this place felt like home, in that it had a nostalgic feel to it and was so comforting. The room was cozy and had lots of decorative things to take our interest. There were several complimentary items in the room also, including snacks and drinks. The hosts, Jeanette and Paul, were just divine. SO lovely to talk to and share stories with over breakfast. We could have stayed and chatted all day! And Jeanette did the most amazing job of accommodating us both being vegan. The cooked mushrooms on toast for breakfast were so delicious. We were so grateful for to them both for putting in so much effort to make sure we didn't go without because of our food preferences. We would definitely stay there again, if for no other reason that just to have some more time to chat! So thankful for such a lovely experience.
Nothing at all. My only disappointment is that we didn't have time to have a good look around the rest of the property as we had to leave in the morning for other commitments. I'd have loved to have a little tour around their gardens and grounds, I know Paul has a keen interest in his garden.
