Despite the restaurant being highly rated the breakfast service and delays were inexcusable. The first morning we waited 45 min. for bacon and eggs, the second day we waited another 45 min. Both mornings we had to get up and ask for coffees and for someone to serve us. Although they said they were extremely busy on both mornings the restaurant was not even half full. Staffing is an issue and furthermore the wait staff were disinterested. On the 3 & 4 mornings we walked up one block to the Vienna Cafe and were greeted with a very friendly hostess and were served a similar breakfast and were out within 35 min. Their restaurant was much busier both mornings. Their breakfast when it finally came was good but we would never recommend the restaurant for breakfast. Our goal in the mornings is to eat and get out and on with our day, not spend an hour and a half getting a simple easy to prepare breakfast.

The breakfast in the attached Italian restaurant was delicious and the dedicated parking across the road was appreciated. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the downtown location is convenient. The "Happy Anniversary" package was very much appreciated!

At least a few Level 2 EV chargers in the car park would be a huge benefit for EV-driving customers. For the price of the room, a free (rather than discounted) breakfast would be an improvement.

It would be better if there was a “Make up Room” note to hung on the door. Right now if you want your room made up, you hang the “Do Not Disturb” at a specific time. We were not sure exactly when to put the tag out. Maybe have door tags the have Do no disturb on one side and make up room on the other side. Otherwise, we always stay there when we are in town.

Parking

First things first--the hotel is very clean, which, for me, is the most important thing. The location couldn’t be better. It is simple to find, and right in the downtown/ city center with free parking across the street. The room is nice, well appointed, with a refrigerator, microwave, and a good bathroom. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. There is a very contemporary Italian restaurant next door where we ate breakfast and it was delicious! Overall, this hotel was an excellent find and we would definitely return!!!

I can’t think of a thing that we didn’t like.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful. I liked the layout of the hotel and the gym area. I liked that it had a hot tub and I liked that the beds were comfortable. The staff were so helpful and very friendly and the restaurant attached had some amazing food

location was awesome! we were there for the car show and able to get up early and park the car and walk back to hotel or anywhere we needed to go! highly recommend this hotel.

the stair hallway is obnoxiously hot almost not able to breath in there, maybe crack a window or add some AC to the stairs!

My husband & I road our motor bikes from Fort McMurray Alberta to Nelson BC. The Hotels location was perfect for as to park the bikes & stroll Baker street. Excellent day of exploring brew pubs & restaurants plus the locally owned stores. Funky little town with exceptional customer services everywhere we went.

Location was good, friendly staff, very clean.

Booking: The rooms prices were increasing drastically as I was trying to book two rooms for myself and my son by phone; the room I booked for myself didn't end up being what we were booking on the phone when the confirmation came through; by that time there weren't any similar rooms available to change it. If we had been travelling for a vacation instead of a funeral, I would not have stayed there for the price,

An early Sunday Breakfast on site [discounted due to our reservation at this property] was top tier; Artisan breads, local sausages and potato rosti in lieu of generic food items. The restaurant opened at 7am on Sunday which allowed an early getaway to our next destination. The pet friendly room [ 6? available] was non-smoking, too :) , although not listed as such. Check in/out was friendly and courteous.

Surface Parking is an open lot across a main street. I saw no video monitors there and was not challenged by any security after rummaging around in the car trunk for a number of minutes retrieving a forgotten item late in the evening of our stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfy. Shower was really nice, good pressure and I liked how the shampoo and soap were full bottles mounted on the wall. It was very quiet. Free parking.

We were on the far side of “downtown” so not really walking distance on such a hot day.
