Samuels Boutique Hotel

This is the cutest little hotel. Perfect parking right outside the room. We arrived late, past front desk hours so we got a personal call with instructions on how to get in and get comfortable. The proprietor is the kindest man and even made sure we wouldn’t miss breakfast which was included. They had pastries from the local bakery which was a nice touch. The room was completely spotless and comfortable with a little electric fireplace. They are so glad to have you as guests and offered us another night. Genuinely happy for your business. Would absolutely stay again.

Our 4th-year stay here for Canada Day holiday since 2018, this beautiful boutique hotel is always topnotch in cleanness and service, decent room decorations, kind and nice staff, very polite and professional manager, a cozy home away from home. Their room service is a must-try, great seafood pasta and roast duck breast. Breakfast is generous, a good range of choices, we’re satisfied. We’ll definitely come back next year. Thank you Samuels!

The staff were amazing- kind, professional and helpful. The property is quite nice and the rooms simple and extremely clean. The included breakfast was delicious with hard boiled eggs, amazing bread, ham, baked goods, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc and absolutely everything was available and easy. I brought my dog with me and they had a bowl and towels in the room for her making us both feel comfortable and welcome. It was also within a five minute drive of the downtown and the beach .All in all, I enjoyed my stay very much.

The air conditioner was a little noisy when it kicked in but I am also a light sleeper so it's probably fine for most people.

A classy place with European flavor; very clean; very friendly; very quiet; good breakfast; nice surroundings; river-view rooms obviously having advantage of ... well, the river view. Beautiful, small, quiet restaurant with subdued light jazz and classical music, unfortunately ...

... that astounding small restaurant and patio serving only breakfast. You are out of town - 3 minutes by car, but - given the geography - it's not walking distance, so ... what do you do in the evening. No dinner at the hotel, not even an evening drink. Yes, you can drive to town for dinner, but then forget the drinks. All the potential is there to offer an evening lounge with drinks, and the dinner in that small restaurant - but they are not being offered. So, that part was a disappointment ... and the place could have been absolutely perfect, if not for those 'missing amenities', quite important to some guests ...

The location was perfect for a one night stay in Goderich. It was a short drive (two minutes) to get to the centre of town or the beach. The hotel is very unassuming. It gives the impression of a motel when you first drive up but once you walk in it’s a different story. The decor is stylish and modern. The room was spacious with its own balcony. Our view was of the parking lot, by choice, but I’m sure the view would have been lovely from the riverview rooms. If needed, the room and bathroom facilities are wheelchair accessible. The included breakfast was ample and good.

The breakfast each day was lovely and relaxing. There was a patio connected to the room and sitting there at the bistro table, and chairs looking out over the river was most relaxing. The property also has 2 car charging stations onsite.

Not a dislike, but be aware that there is a 3% additional charge for booking with a credit card. It is not included in the Booking.com rate, so you will need to pay it when you get there.

The property is beautiful and the room was really clean and spacious. We especially loved that there’s a patio to be able to go outside and sit/enjoy the weather. The room also has a big shower, fireplace, fridge which offers drinks for purchase and complimentary water, coffee maker, and sitting area. The breakfast was more than what we expected - there was a big selection; toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, turkey wraps, muffins, banana loaf, pastries, cheese, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt etc. We will most definitely be back!

Staff was very helpful. We arrived past 9pm and they left us a lockbox with our key. Breakfast was very good and the staff kept all items on the buffet available. It was very quiet at night.

I did not like the bathroom design and it felt cramped. The shower enclosure was very big but not much space left for opening the door and the toilet. We had "river view" but it is really a backyard although a nice green space. The river is in a gulch below so you have to reach the edge of property to see the river.

This place is gorgeous! We had an incredible view of the river, the grounds are lovely! We were warmly welcomed by the man at reception. When we arrived in our room, we loved the little touches! It was the day after Valentine’s Day and we had a very pretty bouquet of flowers, a card and some little treats! The whirlpool tub was amazing, and the salts that come with the room smelled divine! The robes and slippers were super comfy! The included breakfast was delicious with so many options, from baked goods from a local bakery, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, yogurt parfaits, a mini charcuterie board… it was all fantastic! We will be making this our regular mini vacay spot!

Absolutely nothing! Our stay was perfect!

The room is very nice and cozy, the bed is quite nice with a heater across from the bed. There is a nice smart TV and plenty of space around. The view of the river is nice and there is an outdoor area for each room. It is overall a great hotel to stay in for vacation and I would definitely stay here again if I visit Goderich again.

It is a bit farther from the town and the lake but if you drive it would not be a problem. At the moment the restaurant is also closed but I assume it would be open during the summer months. I only found 2 outlets to plug in electronics but I also didn't look too carefully. The biggest issue I have is there is no shower door, the water was splashing out into the bathroom.
