We had at a great experience at the Gite du Survenant. The location is quite convenient, just a few minute walk from the metro, and close to some of the major attractions (Botanic Garden, Biodome, Planetarium, Olympic Stadium...) . It's also close to a lovely little market (Marché Maisonneuve) where we bought amazing local food. The hosts were helpful and flexible, and the apartment was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities needed for our stay. Overall very happy with the place, highly recommended.
Can't think of anything.

Self check-in is a cool thing, because you don’t have to meet anyone, so perfect for introverts like me haha! The appartment has a perfect location just 3 min walk from Pie IX metro station which is very convenient and close to everything. Nothing fancy about the room, but seeing Matreshka was cool, I loved it ;) we stayed there 3 nights and we haven’t even met other people who were staying at the place, so another good point. Money vs value is great.
It’s just good for sleeping, nothing fancy as I said; a place itself is a bit dark (ville marie room), because patio roof blocks the day light. Our room had the washroom outside of the room, which was ok, because it was private, but maybe others need to consider this.

I am an experienced traveler and I can definitely say that I ended up in one of the best places I have ever been. I really liked the chat with the employees, how they helped with additional information and were kind. The room was excellent, very comfortable, clean + I was pleased with the additional information about the city (where to eat, how transport works and even where to park). I was also pleased with the location relative to the metro. My suitcase broke and what would I do if it took 15 minutes to get to the metro instead of 5 minutes...

The location is very convenient. Biodome, botanical garden, and a few other attractions are within a very short distance. Metro is also very close. Alas, no parking on the street except from 10pm to 8:30 am. I ended up parking at P2 of Parc Olympic. Safe neighborhood. The house felt safe. We stayed at one of the Apts on the top floor. It was hot. There was a portable AC unit in the kitchen, a fan in each bedroom. When we wanted to cool off, we would go to the kitchen. Unit is clean. Bed is comfortable. Oven door handle was broken. We can see the top of the Parc Olympic through the kitchen window. It changes color at night. Very responsive host.

I was a little nervous because I have never stayed at a place like this but I would definitely do it again. Room was nice and spotless. Beds were comfortable. Decorations were nice. Instructions were super thorough and guide books in room were super well thought out and informative. Excellent place
Really no complaints. One of the outlets turned off with light switch but we just used a different one. Was a little strange not having a tv in room but Wi-Fi was great so you can make do. They requested that you take shoes off outside of room to keep room clean and the was nice but a chair would have been helpful Again not really complaints. Awesome place

Near the city but still enough distance away to avoid city traffic. Kitchen was awesome, we cooked some meals so as to save money. Monique, the cleaning lady is friendly and helpful. some mornings we have coffee and talked to fellow tourists who stayed in the hotel. Botanical garden, planetarium and biodome are within walking distance if you like to visit those things. It’s also close to subway station.

Very happy with my stay there. I needed a good rest as I was traveling and had a stopover in Montréal. This place served my purpose. Very easy to get to from the airport and there's a fully equipped kitchen to cook your own meals. I especially loved the immediate feel good factor once I got into the room! And the proximity to the metro! Also, there's a huge supermarket close by which is handy. There's a great guide in the room with restaurants, etc. so no need to google anything :) I wish I had more time to discover some of the suggestions in there.
Maybe the thin walls and the creaking wooden floor. I wasn't bothered by it but cautious so that I don't make too much noise.

I had a great stay. This place comes highly recommended for its accommodating hosts, good transport connection, and serene surroundings on a quiet street, nice neighbourhood overall. Smooth self check-in. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge, coffee, and tea, adds to the charm. Enjoy comfortable rooms, cozy beds, and a clean private bathroom stocked with essentials. The place aligns well with the showcased photos. Good value for money. Each room has its own unique design. Would definitely stay again.

We loved staying at Gite du Survenant, Montreal. It was a cozy, peaceful home. loved the overall feel of it. the neighborhood was quiet as well. It was a bit far from downtown but metro station is literally 4 minutes walk so that was very helpful. House was clean, well-equipped. and owners were very flexible. we left our luggage after checkout in main area safely that was also very convenient for us. Would love to stay again.

Can't think of a better place to stay in a nice section of Montreal. So much nicer than a hotel. A great shared kitchen area (with other guests who we never saw), never saw the hosts, which was OK--their directions were on getting in were perfect.
If you're a walker, there is no problem getting around to the metro or to the parking lot at the Olympic Stadium or down to Rue Ontario where all the places to eat are. But if you're having trouble getting around on your legs these days be aware you'll have to go a couple of block to get to your car or to a restaurant.
