The room was nice. Lots of space and a gas fireplace that made it quite cheerful. The bathroom was huge with a spa tub and separate shower. The beds were comfortable. It's also located next door to a restaurant so excellent if you're traveling and want to get something to eat latish. We didn't meet staff directly, except in the restaurant. However, we talked to them after we left because we forgot a pair of glasses. They were super nice and helpful and shipped them to us. That was really fantastic. Would cheerfully stay again.

The one disappointment was we hadn't realized there was no breakfast available. The restaurant was nice and gave us some juice and coffee but still... However, we discovered a great boulangerie nearby as a result so it's all good:)

We arrived tired and weary from a long drive. The hostess greeted us and oriented us to the house and showed us our room. We asked about reservations at the restaurant next-door and she indicated we could get a reservation later that evening. We were both recovering from colds and did not want to expose any of that other guests so she suggested that we could order something and have it delivered which we did. It was lovely to have soup delivered to us. The room was well appointed. Very spacious. we really enjoyed the clawfoot tub and the fireplace made the room especially cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

The auberge is quirky, authentic, a bit shabby chic, but very comfortable. It won’t be for everyone but we really enjoyed this visit. It was great to have access to a proper kitchen and the dining area for homemade breakfast. We also really enjoyed an excellent evening meal in the adjoining restaurant next door which in would recommend. The staff were very helpful.

It got a bit warm in the evening, and ventilation involves opening a window!

The owner was extremely nice and helpful. He greeted us upon arrival and even helped us with a dinner reservation. He was working very hard to beautify the place, while his restaurant was under expansion construction. Still, very quiet, comfortable, and a great location.

Can’t complain

Had a great stay at Auberge Mr James. Owner left clear instructions as there was no one at the front desk due to holiday. Very clean and cozy room. They gave us a courtesy call letting is know where key was when we arrived.

Parking was inconvenient because of renovations.

Eclectic. The house had a unique design but many of the furnishings were outdated. The staff was great. The adjoining restaurant was superb. The beds were small and the one in Mr. James was uncomfortable.

This is a beautiful older home well-maintained and our room was spacious and comfortable. Great bed and a lovely shower in large ensuite bathroom. A very nice breakfast left for us in the kitchen fridge and coffee maker and microwave at our disposal. Excellent restaurant just a minute's walk away.

We found the room extremely warm with a gas fireplace going all night and a thermastat that was not functioning well. There were no instructions left for a TV we were unable to access so we used our laptop and books rather than make a fuss over this.

We had a great stay at Auberge Mr James the rooms have great character, so much nicer than the boring cookie cutter style, of the chain hotels. The staff are welcoming and very friendly, I forgot my laptop computer in the room and they when out of their way to make it available for pickup on our return trip at a time when nobody was typically at the hotel. The restaurant next door is also great, we had a wonderful meal. We will definitely make an effort to stay at Auberge Mr James on our next trip to the east coast it makes the long drive much less tedious when you know that you have such a great place to stay and diner at the end of the day.

Incredibly spacious room with a nice bathroom and comfy beds. The soaker tub was a great way to relax after a long drive. I appreciate that there is no extra fee for pets!

The building is starting to wear and could use a little upkeep, though this did not affect the cleanliness of our suite.

convenient location. comfortable facilities. reasonable price. large, clean room. i’d stay again.

breakfast items should be wrapped in cellophane before being placed in the box. i didn’t enjoy the croissant because it was dried out. the mufffin was just ok; it, too, was starting to dry out. appreciate the effort and thoughtfulness, but i wasted most due to deteriorated quality.
