No staff were at the hotel when we arrived. We had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to arrive at the hotel to register us.

We were supposed to have a/c in the room. We were placed in the basement and there was no a/c. A bedroom in the basement is not that great. I would've a/c anyways, it was a hot night.

Small but nice setup

The floor as disgustingly dirty! We used the paper towels to try to clean it. Just black with dirt.

The property itself was nice and was kept clean. The room was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities.

I booked the room as it was advertised at $109 on Booking.com. My partner and I were travelling with three dogs, and thus filtered our search to only show motels that allow pets. The listing for this motel stated “Pets allowed. No additional charges”. We arrived at 10:30 pm after driving 13 hours and were told we would have to pay an extra $100. Needless to say, it was not realistic to find a place in the area on a Sunday night that would accommodate three pets on such short notice. I was forced to pay double the advertised price and was not impressed.

We reserved for a room with one bed and one sofa bed. The employee gave us a room with only one bed and when I mentioned that it's not the right bedroom, he said that it can't be that we reserved another bedroom for the price we paid! He didn't even check the reservation! And the bed was making a noise every time we moved..

The location. Needed a place to stay driving from Nova Scotia to Ontario.

It is such a sin that they charge 242$ for a basic motel room. When I arrived, the staff said they didn’t have my booking but they did have a room (despite booking through the app hours before). Even though they advertise as pet friendly, they said the pet had to stay in its kennel in the room.. after 11 hours in the car this seemed a bit cruel to me. The room I was in was in a basement with only one exit (as a female travelling solo I didn’t love that) and there was no padlock on the door. It worked in a pinch but I did not feel overly safe or comfortable. Overall, because of the false advertising and quality, the stay was worth no more than 50$.

The room smelt big time like someone had spilt a case of beer in the room. The room was very small.

way overpriced, broken blinds so people see inside, broken glass, lousse wirings coming from walls and ceiling, a/c is WAY too loud, you hear the tv next door, no pressure in shower, bathroom sink big as a hand. sticky floor, no manivel for the window in the bathroom and no blinds. no desk or any workstation. tv is sooo small and far from bed. trash can is very small, filled it to capacity everyday, and i wad alone. door handle looks like there were prior break-ins. definitely the place i ever been. dont go at any cost, especially the one the charge you.

We were put in a basement room way down at the end of a long narrow dark hallway. It is truly the stuff of horror movies. The sheets were dirty with hair and stains. The floor was grimy and dirty. I was barefoot and I had to keep brushing a layer off my feet. The so called couch bed was a couch and there were no sheets or pillows provided. It did not turn into a bed and it was not meant to be a bed. The man didn't even provide a pillow. Also they did not want to honor the price we booked on Booking.com. We argued for 20 minutes about it. This discussion was interrupted by another traveller coming to complain that his credit was charged more than the booking on Booking.com.

A fair price for this motel is around $ 80, but I ended up paying $290 because this was the only a available place in the region. It would be okay charging more due to the season, but he was too greedy. The owner was opportunist, he charged the same amount Delta Hotel was charging, but because Expedia sucks so badly overbooking another hotel in the city, I wasted time with them on the phone and missed booking a room at Delta. So that’s the only the reason why I stayed in this Motel Reference, under a normal situation I would not.
