We had a wonderful time at Valamar in Makarska, the hotel was excellent. Having traveled all over the world staying at many famous hotels, I can say, that Valamar Hotel offers the world's BEST breakfast, It was amazing! The location is perfect, and we really enjoyed our stay. The Staff were wonderful and attentive, always smiling and welcoming. I can't wait to return to Valamar Makarska!

My only negative was the bed, they really need to work out a solution to make the twins into a king-size bed better, the beds kept on moving apart and the bathroom could use an update. This is a family friendly hotel, so our room catered to that, I would suggest that there are more couples/Adult focused rooms as well.

The location of the hotel is amazing, and they truly have everything you need on the property. It is definitely worth the money. Also, the staff were so nice and accommodating. It made the stay even better.

While there is a kids pool, a lot of kids come to the normal pool and play there. I wish they would have a section just for adults because having kids jump and scream and play games in the pool does not give you much space to just swim and relax.

The pool water was too cold, it's good for swimming but not for just relaxing in the pool. Overall it's still overpriced. When paying 500 Euros for 2 days I expect to have a small free mini bar and complimentary water in the room, both was not the case. I really enjoyed my time there but given the prize I would not book it again.

The restaurant employees were really helpful, especially the restaurant manager and the food was great. The receptionist was also very friendly. The pool is big, which is great for swimming.

The entire spa area was a bit cold (the water in the pool, by the pool and the massage room). In the massage room during the entire massage the light was never turned down a bit, so it was difficult to relax with a bright light in your eyes. Check out is at 10 am which is definitely too early. I asked if I could pay for a later check out but the hotel could not guarantee a longer stay.

EVERYTHING! All staff are so friendly and polite, the hotel is very clean, right on the beach front and has a fantastic pool area and pool bar. All very clean, plenty of sunbeds with parasols too. Pool is heated and beach area is clean. We had amazing views from our balcony too. Breakfast and dinner buffet had so much choice! Something for everyone. You can rent paddleboard, kayaks, bikes, jet skis all nearby. Lots of facilities for children of all ages from pool tables to a gaming room with Xbox and PlayStation! Never seen that before in a hotel. Very cool feature

we really loved the restaurant! breakfast was great, with plenty to choose from for everyone's taste! and then the dinner was really great! outdoor pool is amazing! location is great, staff was really nice, lots of content for kids (though we didn't use any)..

it's overpriced! while the restaurant certainly offers a lot in terms of food and the pool is fantastic, the room was outdated by modern standards; our room was quite small, the additional bed wasn't comfortable, bathroom was ok but a walk-in shower instead of the small tub would be nice!

Noisy (children facilities inside the main hall, loud concerts till late), rooms need renovation, too small rooms, towels near swimming pool are old and some have holes. Casino in children oriented hotel looks strange.

My stay at the hotel in Makarska was truly fantastic. The location was outstanding, offering easy access to the beach and its beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was not only extensive but also incredibly delicious, with options catering to various dietary needs, including those for Coeliacs. It was the perfect way to start each day. The hotel's amenities were exceptional. The 25m indoor pool was a gem for fitness enthusiasts, while the gym and sauna facilities were top-notch, providing relaxation and fitness opportunities. The outdoor infinity pool was delightful, featuring plenty of comfortable day beds to choose from, I even had a spontaneous water aerobics session, which turned out to be a fun and refreshing experience. Afterward, I treated myself to a well-deserved gin and tonic by the poolside :). Overall, my time at the Makarska hotel was an absolute delight. From the convenient location to the yummy breakfast, excellent amenities, and enjoyable poolside moments, it was a memorable experience.

Wonderful location on the beach front and a short walk from shops, harbour, restaurants, park, woods and historic buildings. Terraces face the sunset. Well equipped rooms with a fridge and big comfortable beds. Couldn’t hear other people through the walls. Staff we’re really helpful- extra tea bags / concierge Maja organised trips (Zoran was a lovely walking guide - very knowledgeable). The restaurant had excellent food for our gluten free diet and would cook some things differently if you asked. Buffet breakfast was great. Lots of family play equipment and space plus adult seating to be social. Gym /pool open for long hours.

Only very minor things - otherwise perfect!Shower screen too small so it was hard not to flood the bathroom. ‘Eco’ room service meant nothing was done rather than just not changing the towels - needs clearer explanation to guests or preferably cleaners to do what it says on the door hangers! Sauna is a family sauna at 55oC so just not hot enough to work for a lot of people. There were only 2 yoga mats - take your own. We didn’t know we were ‘off season’ and the gym classes and lots of trips weren’t running and many restaurants weren’t open yet. Restaurants in the town don’t have much variety if you’re vegetarian - all cheese based and no pulses or nuts - risotto or gnocchi mostly. They don’t really have anything gluten free - enjoy salads and excellent chips!

Though the location Makarska is way too crowded for us and we will not return here, the hotel made it still a very nice holiday. A 10!!! They are friendly, all of them and all the time. Your wish is their demand. We celebrated our daughter's birthday here and they made a special day of it, thank you so much! Pool area is clean and has all you can wish for.

The room was rather small, but I still rate the hotel with a 10 as the facilities and services are extraordinary!!! Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!
