Gorgeous quiet rooms. Bed was wonderful. Great location. Nice breakfast options. The front desk is exceptionally friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our nightcap in the bar—well made cocktails and super bartender.

The housekeepers were exceptionally loud outside our door every morning. It woke us up literally every day we were there, and we found it horribly interrupting to our sleep. The gym is outside the spa, and it consists of a treadmill. And it’s hot. I had a manicure and pedicure in the spa, and the technician who performed my service was really lovely, but it took over two hours for my service, no shellac, and marginal at best. The room didn’t have great light and was the size of a closet so I couldn’t really blame the technician. Get spa service elsewhere.

It was difficult to find they need to provide better directions, the location and parking is Top just difficult for first timers to find….for example it’s just across from the teatro hotel turn right and call them and they will open the gate remotely, we had to park walk around find it and then back to the car and park, not a big deal but this small improvement would help when you have been driving for a few hours and want to get to your hotel without hunting for it…..

Excellent location and very beautiful heritage building. Very clean hotel and decent but simple breakfast. The staff were lovely, especially the young lady on evening reception who was really helpful and friendly. Our room had great view of the old town square below. Very enjoyable to sit out at the terrace with a glass of wine taking in the atmosphere.

The bed was not that comfortable, the mattress could do with replacing. Also the bed linens were awkward, we had two single duvets instead of one double. There were a few small details that could be easilly fixed such as no electrial outlet on one side of the bed, a cheap broken toilet roll holder, a tiny wardrobe and a fairly bare room with just a small dressing table, another table would have been very useful.

lovely chateaux out on the peninsula in the old town with a calm and easy ambiance. we had a great dinner at the Michelin recommended restaurant, with an attentive waiter and Maitre d’ - good wine pairing, with a couple of extra glasses thrown in on the house to take out and watch the sunset. perfect. comfortable room - and a beautiful white stone staircase running up through the centre of the building. sadly, we didn’t make it to the spa, despite our best intentions.

one day / afternoon was enough to ‘see’ Zadar - but that is not the fault of the property - they did everything to make it a great stay

The breakfast was not great, you'd expect better for the price..it really let the hotel down. Nothing was explained to us on our first morning (we sat outside for ages until realising we had to sit inside for hotel guest breakfast) and we didn't realize (until asking) you could order coffee, eggs etc off the menu.

We loved staying at the Bastion Heritage Hotel - Relais & Châteaux. They staff were so friendly and helpful and lovely during our stay. We got engaged on our first night which resulted in complimentary champagne and a delicious appetizer on the house. Followed by warm and helpful encounters throughout our stay. The view was beautiful looking straight out to the water and the hotel room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We will be back to stay again soon!

The only thing that wasn’t great was the hair dryer in the room. It was a bit small and weak to dry mine or my partners hair properly.

We had _the_ room on the fifth floor. With our own elevator stop. It was as awesome as it looks in the pictures, with a Jacuzzi on the roof terrace. The shower is also huge and good. We parked right outside the hotel entrance. Breakfast was awesome. The location is super convenient to the old town, and the sea organ. They had a bottle of bubbly in the room, too. Not sure that is standard :-)

The room has a beautiful glass door. You'll see when you stay there.

Breakfast was excellent although I didn't realize until I had eaten from the continental buffet that an a la carte breakfast menu was also available.

I would have like an espresso or coffee machine in the room and not just 2 instant coffee packets. Some staff was on the neutral noncommittal side other staff was superb. Perhaps a bigger room service menu. Asked for a recommendation and they couldn't/wouldn't give me one - just said all was good...

The room was great, very spacious, comfortable bed, very clean, modern bathroom, bathrobes. Okay breakfast. Nice spa area (extra charge) with Finnish and Turkish sauna and whirlpool. We had massages and they were great. Excellent location of the hotel with views on the waterfront and in the beautiful old town of Zadar. We would come again! Excellent hotel!
